  1. If it works let me know and we can set the detailer up as an authorized trader with LOC and he'll get LOTS of business!
  2. Touchfrees are fine in a pinch, I use a touchfree during the winter also. There are specific waxes you can use like Collinite 476 Detergent Proof wax that will better resist the detergents in the wash. One thing though, don't let them dry it at the Lexus dealer or they will scratch the hell out of it.
  3. Lots of great products there!
  4. Can you post some pictures? The SC's wood has a matte finish normally unlike the high gloss on other Lexuses...
  5. Any Lexus can be a very expensive car to maintain, the dealers are very expensive parts are costly etc. It doesn't have to be though. look for a good independent shop like JP's and you can save a lot. A lot of people scrap the runflats for normal tires because they ride better and last longer, you could think about that when the time comes. Headlights cost $2000? Thats way off base. First of all the HID system should last the life of the car, if not the bulbs are around $200. Its not nearly as expensive as your friends are telling you. Don't worry, enjoy the car ;)
  6. Yeah keep in mind that the real money is made in the service department, not sales. As for the Optimas I think they're really overrated unless you have some need for them like stereo systems or extreme power draws.
  7. Nice, I like the comparison of "Taupe" on the Acura and "Silver Taupe" on the Lexus lol. VMF, you drive a Civic over the LS? Do I need to go test drive one of these new Civics? :D
  8. Very nice! Mucho impressivo. I love the waterfall, my parent's pool has a waterfall a little bigger than that, adds a nice look and an even nicer sound.
  9. Yeah the wireless FM mods are crap. Actually my Sirius is connected with an FM switch box and it works really well. Its still FM modulated but its not wireless and the switch box keeps the lead from the main antenna from interfering with the satellite signal. Check out www.xmfan.com those guys have it down. For Sirius try www.siriusbackstage.com
  10. They definately had to remove the center console then. If they managed to break that vent part its more than likely they also did something that contributed to the shift issue. Have them look at it and see what the manager can do for you, if not then get an estimate to have it fixed and tell them you'll see them in court. Lesson learned, never let Best Buy touch your car. Mine was installed by a career installer with a high priced stereo chain, Myer Emco. Watching him do it there definately is some skill involved in taking the interior apart. Anyone can do it, its a question of taking the time and having the care for your property, the kids at Best Buy aren't going to do that.
  11. Well then you might have some position to have them replace it. The warranties aren't going to cover a battery but in theory the car should have been thoroughly inspected before the warranties were issued.
  12. No its not going to fit. It will probably work but its not going to fit in the hole. Welcome to the club!
  13. I wouldn't reccomend charging your cell phone in the car while its not running anyways. Cell phones don't draw a lot of power but they draw enough to completely drain the battery over time, especially if its cold.
  14. Yep, unless they sold the car with a warranty it is sold "As-Is". They didn't even know the battery was faulty or they would have replaced it, only would have cost them $30 or so.
  15. Where did they install the controller? I watched them install the FM switch wire for my Sirius radio and they had to completely remove the center console...
  16. The vinyl part of the dash or the wood? If its the vinyl thats hard to do, are you sure they're not just streaks?
  17. I agree, have it professionally done.
  18. Its not so much changed on the surface but all of the wiring has been "upgraded" and is completely different.
  19. If its certified pre-owned then shame on the dealer and they should and will replace the battery. If its not then shame on you, you should have had a mechanic throughly inspect the car before you bought it. Why would you trust a used car salesman? ;) Used car dealer isn't going to replace the battery. I personally agree with chad, I never run the accessories off of the battery without the engine running. For one stock batteries aren't very high powered anyways, for two you're likely to run the radio and experience a drained battery at the most in-oppotune time.
  20. Personal preference is fine, but just because you have an opinion doesn't mean it has to be voiced all the time. That, and the time you mentioned it before this were both just rude. As a matter of fact if you were a normal member I would have moderated you for them. We're aware of your preference you don't have to pipe in and tell us how ugly our cars are every time we start talking about them. The 02-04 is the first ES I've found the least bit interesting, but I don't go around saying that every time a discussion is had about the previous models. Or you even could have said "I still don't like the headlights, I wish they had changed them" that would have expressed your opinion without coming across rude and like a jerk. Rule number one on the site is be polite, you know that as its your job to enforce it. If you're going to enforce it then follow it. I apologize but you've seriously *BLEEP*ed me off.
  21. The Roady is an option but the sound will not be nearly as good as the direct modulated commander unit. The radio system in the 04 is actually totally different from the 01...
  22. NADA is really only used for insurance purposes, can't go by it.
  23. No, baking soda is pretty abrasive I wouldn't let it anywhere near my paint.
