Yeah check the tire pressure, like Jim said it makes a HUGE difference in the ride quality. Also, you said you replaced the tires, what are the brand and model of the tires you bought? The type of tire makes a huge difference too...

He's paying a HUGE markup for that detail anyways. My dealer sent me a flyer with prices for their "details" and as a former professional detailer myself the prices made me laugh out loud... Personally I would treat it as any other dealer service and he probably won't ever even see the detailer that did the job...

This is a BIG problem in the new Grand Cherokee too. With the steering wheel properly aligned both the speedo and tach are 1/3rd obstructed...

One thing I realized on a recent trip is that the average speed digital readout is NOT off. So with the cruise set at 80 on the speedo, reset average speed and it reads 78...

Whether its 100k miles or 62k miles...its still nearly 7 years old living in a harsh climate, and you still really have no idea what its life may have been like for the 6 years before you bought it. The fact that your other cars have no rust is meaningless because we simply do not know that this vehicle has never had any bodywork done in that area. The carfax report wouldn't turn up minor repairs...and might not turn up major repairs...maybe the car was never washed... Is the car certified? Is it still under any sort of warranty from Lexus? Unless theres some sort of warranty you're out of luck. Have you talked to a body shop about having the rust addressed?

Look...the car is almost 7 years old now, with over 100,000 miles on it. You can't expect Lexus to guarantee that nothing will happen to a car forever. Its an old car, and its a car that you don't really know the history of before the start of this year, you don't know if its ever been in an accident and repaired, and you live in a salty wintery climate. Lexus and the dealer will do, and should do nothing to help you. My guess is the car was repaired in this area at some point, that repair was of a substandard quality, and the rust is a result of that. If you want a car that will be covered by a warranty...then buy a new one next time.

Yeah I would never, ever consider getting insurance through Geico... I mean...yeah its cheaper but what happens if you have a claim? Well, we know what happens because its happening to you right now.

I had exactly the same thing happen to the Prius in the same spot, it was an uninsured motorist claim. If they're telling you its a collision clam then they're telling you they don't believe it happened the way you said it did...

It shouldn't be a collision claim Josh, it should be a comprehensive or uninsured motorist claim since it was a hit and run. Get it fixed...the truck is important to you and trying to bang it out with that chrome is going to make it worse...

To me $250 is a small price to pay to address an issue like this on a $40,000 vehicle...

All the vehicles you mentioned require premium fuel.

Its really impossible for any of us to say for sure just by looking at it, but I would say $4k easily, probably more. Honestly...it might be a total...

Interestingly, the flashers on my '03 ES are almost silent...as they were on my Dad's 98 and 04 LS's. However...the flashers are much louder on my 2010 ES. Odd that you would feel your 2010 LS has quieter flashers than on your '05 LS...

I hate it too. I have to drive clients around from time to time too...imagine how crazy THAT makes me!
