  1. Can you post a picture of the panel? I don't think the bezel around the air vents was wood in the 98, it may be an aftermarket stick-on kit which is what he's talking about.
  2. The Highlander is significantly larger than the old one and larger than the RX. They're very nice, I drove one. The Hybrid is really expensive though, $47k loaded.
  3. Interesting they post the service stops...I didnt know they did that.
  4. Wikipedia...another non-100% trustworthy source. Its George CARLIN, not Carline ;) The reason people blast John Coleman is he speaks using his own knowledge and expertise to back him up, of which he has none. He's a goofy weatherman, wears funny shirts and makes funny noises when he reports the weather. I also didn't say we had destroyed the earth, I just said it only makes sense that all these unnatural things we do would be in general not so good for the earth. The issue with CO2 Thats fine, but I think there are people in the world that know more about this subject than you or me...or John Coleman.
  5. You're kidding right about the spray paint? I hope so. With single stage paint, when you're polishing you'll get paint transfer on your pad and towels, its normal. Polishes remove paint, it happens with clearcoated cars too... the paint that transfers is just clear.
  6. When did you get the '99?!? I'm out of the loop!
  7. $24 a month more to drive the 400, I had my discription reversed, I'll fix it. Thats rediculous. Even my ES which shares a basic motor with the Camry is only about 20% Camry overall, the GS300 has the I6 from the Toyota Supra! Doesn't get much more different than the Camry. In fact a lot of tuners buy the 300 because of the greater availability of mods. The V8 is a great motor, and given an even choice I'd always choose the V8, but the I6 and the V6 (especially the I6) are great motors too. If I were buying a new GS (and I'm thinking about it) I'd never buy a GS460 over the GS350 for instance, I'd buy an LS460 if I were going to spend the coin on the GS460. When you're buying used the price difference is much less, and you probably can negotiate a better deal on the 400 because of public perception of the fuel economy difference. That kind of flamebait has no place here. No offense? Right.
  8. I only use my iPod in the car, it sits in the armrest hooked up to the Vaistech kit and never leaves. I don't understand why people want to listen to their iPods when walking around and stuff either.
  9. Yeah man, post it up.
  10. The V8 is about the most bulletproof engine on the road too...
  11. Really? Wow. I can understand not having one, but not knowing what it was? Do you read the paper, watch TV?
  12. For $180 less I'd be surprised if you were incorrect!
  13. Well, GS400 vs GS300 isn't going to help you with snow. Both are RWD and will be bad in the snow. In some instances, the Lexus V8 is not that much less or even more efficient than the 6cyl models. For instance the LS gets better mileage than my ES, assuming its a 98+ model. The ES is underpowered for its weight. Look here: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/!Removed!/findacar.htm According to the EPA, the 400 gets 1MPG less than the 300. If you commute 50 miles a day, 5 days a week (250 miles a week or 2000 miles per month) at say, 20MPG vs 21MPG, the GS400 would cost you $500 a month at $5.00 per gallon, the GS300 would cost you $476.25. So $24 a month more in gas to drive the 400.
  14. You're kidding right? The iPod is the worlds best selling music player made by Apple. I thought everyone would have at least heard about iPods, its kinda like asking what a DVD player is...
  15. DRLs don't operate at night, how can they ruin your night look?
  16. Thats my opinion on the subject...
  17. All that GS27 stuff does is fill in the scratch. ScratchX is appropriate for hand small area stuff, but not for a whole car. You need a proper polish with a diminishing abrasive and probably a buffer. The paint on your BMW is WAAAAY harder than the paint on the LS. If its clearcoated the top 2-3 coats are simply paint with no pigment (clear). On the single stage paint, its just ordinary color coat black.
  18. Actually it does, if you leave your lights to "on" all the time, the car will still shut them off as if they were on AUTO after the car is turned off. Unless you leave a door open theres no way to leave your lights on in a Lexus.
  19. I can't find a local shop that will sell them to me in H rated since the car came with Vs so I'll have to order them on TireRack, I just emailed them to see what their return policy would be...if there is one. Stevie, You're right, you're right! Stinkin' real estate market has got to get better first...
  20. It all depends on the look you're looking for, I prefer a deeper shine on darker cars which is why I don't use Zaino... Hopefully I'll have some time and can try it out!
  21. I've looked at them but they don't sell them in the ES' size. I'd buy the Bridgestones again, they ride great and are very quiet, not quite as quiet as the Michelin MXV4+ I had on it before, but rain and snow traction was better, significantly better. My main concern is getting the smoothest and quietest ride, I'd like to think the H's will wear better than the V's but I doubt it since they both have the same treadwear rating. I'm a little concerned about buying tires with that high a rating in terms of noise and harshness, but all the survey and test data says they're the quietest MXV4s Michelin has made...
  22. Oh sure, the Ultima will last longer than the wax, P21S is not that long lasting. I haven't gotten around to using my UPGP yet, what do you think of the look vs the P21S? You can layer the P21S over the UPGP too.
  23. Eh, I've had bad experiences with Toyo tires in the past, I've pretty much decided on the Michelins I'm just concerned with the H rating vs the V rating. If it were $20 a tire I'd do the V's without even thinking about it, but $45 a tire is a lot...
  24. The antenna is in the rear window on Jim's 00 LS400 also. I doubt it would really make all that much of a difference.
  25. P21S is so easy to use you can really do it every wash. If you like P21S, you should try Pinnacle Souveran ;)
