  1. I think thats too much money IMHO. You can buy a new one for $39k probably...or less. I was made an offer for $40k on a brand new UL 2008 and that was before all of these economy problems happened. Now, thats not OTD, but I bet you can do better. Someone on the LS forum just paid underinvoice for an LS460, which used to be unheard of for any Lexus. I would lean on them hard....
  2. Happy Birthday! Sorry I missed it...
  3. Thats great! Apparently kidney tumors are really hard to diagnose as cancerous or benign. I have a cousin who had his kidney removed several years ago only to find out afterwards the tumor was benign...
  4. Your new place looks great! Let me know if you need help with this. I've done a bunch of these relo packages where the company pays the closing costs/commissions and pays for the move. Did they reccomend a realtor/do you know one? If not tell me and I can get you somebody really good through one of my referral networks. Usually you can choose whoever you want, the agent just has to pay the relo company a referral fee. They usually have two agents do BPOs beforehand too. Are they going to give you a buyout option? They'll want to come do two appraisals and they'll do a third if you contest the results of the first two and then they'll buy it from you for that price if it doesn't sell within a few months. You may...or may not like the buyout price. I had a client last year that got an awesome buyout offer from her company and I told her to take it even though it resulted in us loosing the listing (these relo companies have their own agents they contract with for "in inventory" properties, meaning properties they own). I also had a client this year that got a terrible offer... At least here people have started coming out of the woodwork and buying houses...we've been busy. I hope its the same way there. Rates were down today to 5.5% 30 yr fixed with no points...that will help. Feel free to ask me for marketing tips too ;)
  5. We're driving the Prius to NJ for Thanksgiving and I got it washed and gassed it up tonight, $1.80/gal. Filled it up for $16! That will get us to NJ and back!, 500 miles. I filled up the Lexus today too for $34, it was costing upwards of $70. Wild...
  6. I really like it...I'd buy one of these...
  7. Its a Lexus...not a race car ;)
  8. That is bizarre... Can you post a picture of the battery?
  9. I'm not a believer in this whole nitrogen for tires thing. Air is 78% nitrogen anyways, do you really think that additional 22% is going to make that big a difference? On a race car or a plane's landing gear maybe, but on your car? I ain't buying.
  10. Thats what they thought when they tried it the first time... ;)
  11. I had my Vaistech system installed by Myer Emco stereo and they did a great job. These guys take apart all kinds of cars, Mercedes, Jaguars, BMWs, Audis, they know more about taking the interior of a Lexus apart and putting it back together than the Lexus dealer I bet... Just find a good shop that does high end cars. They charged me $75 to install my Vaistech kit, and I can't imagine it would be more to do the Lexus kit since its plug and play. These guys fabricate entire custom sound systems, rework door panels with fiberglass, having them do something like this is like asking a brain surgeon to put some stitches on a cut...they can handle it. Wrong. They cannot punish the dealership for failing to follow their pricing guideline, it is an ANTITRUST violation, it is illegal. Lexus does hold dealers accountable for customer satisfaction surveys, but they cannot punish them for charging less...or more...than the MSRP for a product or service. I don't see people complaining when they buy cars for less than MSRP...its the same thing...just in reverse.
  12. I would suggest a remote start system...
  13. I would take it to a different dealer...
  14. I found him through word of mouth actually, I have a colleague who has a Lexus and he uses them.
  15. I had this problem. The entire unit had to be replaced as per the Lexus dealer...it was under warranty so I didn't care... They said you could not access the bulbs (they are bulbs, no LEDs) and that the unit was completely sealed.
  16. I'd just bite the bullet and buy better tires for the car.
  17. Lexus specifies 5W30, so thats what I use. If they thought that a different viscosity was important in a specific climate...they'd have specified that IMHO.
  18. I'm glad your Magellan works for you. I also have a Garmin that I use when travelling and I prefer the Lexus system. I just plain don't want the hassle of a seperate system, I like my built in unit just fine. I can re-route myself with the OEM Lexus system, you can detour when moving. You just can't enter destinations by typing, only by voice. I guess its great the nav is an option. Most car companies don't even offer cars without it anymore.
  19. I like it more the more I look at it... I'd drive one of these, I've said many times while the current RX is a good vehicle I would never buy one.
  20. Nothing wrong with that...
  21. I agree 100% about the labor unions, its these deals they've swung with the automakers to keep UAW workers on the lines over the years that have done this, IN PART. The other part is that these automakers just haven't been building cars that Americans want to buy...for a long...long time. You can't expect a company to support people who worked for them for their entire lives...and their spouses lives...forever...and not expect that to be an issue at some point. The unions have been paying a lot of the retirement benefits through this crisis themselves though. HOWEVER, I don't know what an automobile industry-less America looks like, I really don't. Thats why I would like to see these companies come out with a plan to show how they can streamline these businesses so that they can operate in this marketplace and in the future. Issue is, if these companies are gone...they're gone forever... I continue to be amazed by all these no win scenarios this situation is throwing up at us...
  22. RX is right guys, its great to have low gas prices for a change but we're suffering...and will suffer...in so many other ways as a result of all of this I'm not sure we should be celebrating...
  23. You've got to wait and see it in person. Lexus vehicles always look better in person. I like it a lot, especially the interior. Glad to see the 3 pod gauge cluster gone.
  24. Yep, I got an email with that link. I like it a lot actually, the interior is very unique. I'm looking forward to trying out Lexus' take on the iDrive thing...
  25. They did this a few years ago and it never sold well...
