  1. I would use the Toyota long life (red) coolant. You have to get it from a Toyota or Lexus dealer, or you can order it online. AutoZone etc doesn't sell it.
  2. Absolutely, this is what I and others have suggested you do from day one...
  3. You are 100% right, people need to find out what these people stand for and not rely on the media to tell them who to vote for. This is my position as well. This is also one of my issues with the republican party as it stands today. There is NO reason why Republicans, with their historic federalist policies, personal rights (right to bear arms, etc), aren't 100% FOR exactly what you just mentioned. Why are republicans for a constitutional ban on !Removed! marriage? Why are they for a reversal of Roe v Wade and a ban on abortion? That is not a conservative platform. Why? The religious right owns the current Republican party and !Removed! marriage and abortion are in conflict with christian morality. THAT is the main reason why I have left the republican party. I'd rather vote for tax and spend liberals than take a chance on the radical christian right (one of the world's more evil institutions IMHO) impose their morality on others by legislating out of the bible.
  4. The MSRP is just a suggestion, its the manufacturer's SUGGESTED retail price. They don't have to sell anything for that and Lexus can't make them, it would be an antitrust violation if they did. Its supply and demand, if consumers will pay $399 for the unit then thats a valid price. My dealer charges $800 for the kit installed for instance. Am I going to yell at them? No. If they won't do it for what I think is reasonable I'll order it online and have someone else do it. Thats how business works.
  5. Before you can "get your money back" you need someone other than you that says its doing what you say its doing. At this point you haven't even dealt with the manufacturer...you've dealt with the dealer. You need to get a dealer to escalate it up the chain and have a regional rep come drive the car. Here's my question...what do you want us to do about it? We've offered you suggestions and you've been unwilling to take them. What do you want us to do? For what its worth, I had my Prius in to my independent mechanic last week and I just put the service record into my file and I noticed the mileage in was 40,606. Mileage out? 40,606. He DID test drive the car, I saw him drive off in it and drive back 10 minutes later. I think the reason it reads that way is that they don't write up the ticket until they're about to return the car to you and they only check the mileage once. So...the dealer may have very well test driven the car even though the ticket wouldn't make you think they had... As far as making assumptions about you, the way you've ranted and raved here and me and others for suggesting the issue might be simple could only lead me to believe you've been the same way with the dealer and I've offered you advice about that. If that is not the case and you've been respectful with the dealer I apologize. Try and be respectful with us too please.
  6. She's not going to even ask, for one it would never occur to me to even wonder if a diamond was new or used and I doubt it will to her either.
  7. I agree, no need to tell her as it doesn't make any difference. A diamond doesn't diminish with age. It would kind of ruin the moment: "Will you marry me?" "Yes, yes yes!" "Oh by the way the diamond is used" I'd just end it on a high note ;)
  8. Its a heated discussion, but I don't think its getting ugly. Nobody's attacked anyone personally, we're just debating very real national issues. I agree with Randy Again, this is the only political thread here. You don't have to read it... Again...no personal attacks. And where am I censoring anyone in this thread? I'm the only one in the whole management team that wants to keep it open, I've gotten emails daily asking for it to be closed. Do your part in keeping it open by not making personal statements about people...including me. This is not a political forum, this is a Lexus forum and its privately owned so the management of the site gets final say over what content is expressed here. I'm happy to support this little experiment, but I'm not going to put up with constantly explaining to everyone why I'm keeping it open if you're going to accuse me of censorship. Thats ludicrous. To smooth1's post: The issue is over the word "marriage". Marriage is a religious institution but it is also a civil institution. For instance I am married, but my wife and I are not affiliated with a church and our marriage was performed in a civil ceremony. We have a "marriage license" that was given to us by the state...not a church. We file our taxes as "married filing jointly", the church has nothing to do with that. We own our house as tenants by the entirety, which is only available to married couples and protects our house from individual judgements against us (in states where there is such a thing). Nothing to do with the church. The church's role in marriage is ceremonial for those who believe in and belong to the church. I don't...but I'm still married. Marriage is really a civil issue. Maybe there needs to be a different name? But that name is like our Jerusalem, the whole argument is that everybody wants it. If only religious people are "married" and those of us who are not religious, be we straight or !Removed!, have a "civil union", even if its the same as a marriage in every way according to the state...for some people its "seperate but equal". I personally don't care...but I know a lot of people do. I don't know how I would feel if I were !Removed! though...I might care. As for tax credits, tax credits promote families in the united states and hold very important tax relief, can't do away with them. Why is the dependent credit unfair to !Removed!? They have to be able to adopt too, and can some places. They can have children with surrgoates. Everything has to be left up to a younger generation. The older generation is going to be dead, and the younger generation is going to have to live in this country. Isn't it time they made some decisions about their future?

  10. I'd be really surprised if the bushings or joints were worn or bad on a car that new though, wouldn't you? I think what you need to try to get them to do is tear the thing down in the front and find out if theres anything going on in there...based on my experience they will do that but they're not going to do it if you're ranting and raving and calling them liars and arguing about what the warranty says and the magnussen moss law and stuff like that. If you stay pleasant, but firm, you can get them to address your issues. Ask anyone here, there are members here who have accomplished warranty covered repairs OUT of warranty, but they did it by being pleasant, but firm and not trying to accuse them of anything but instead trying to work with them to find the issue. If it means you have to pay a diagnostic fee, I'd pay the diagnostic fee and then when they find the issue they'll refund it...if there is an issue.
  11. Which tires were they, do you remember?
  12. Thats your opinion, but to me marriage is nothing more than a classification of commitment between two people who love each other and want to form a family. Call it whatever you want, as long as it is exactly like marriage for a man and a woman in terms of rights and benefits...who cares. and you are totally wrong, they do NOT have those rights everywhere right now. Only in a few select places. As for your signs, signs for "Marriage is for white and white, not white and black" would get torn down and get your car egged too. Its discrimination and its wrong. For every person out there that wants to waive it in your face there are 100 !Removed! couples who just want the right to get married the same as you and me. It has nothing to do with radical agendas and it has nothing to do with you and me. Its about !Removed! couples wanting to hold property as tenants by the entirety, file taxes together, visit each other in the hospital...be seen by the government as a unit just like you and I are with our spouses. How is that a radical agenda? The majority was against civil rights too, desegregation...sometimes the majority is wrong. The tides are turning too, younger generations don't care about race and sexual orientation the way older generations do.
  13. Folks, lets keep this a discussion and not a place to post email chain letters like these. This is off topic, but I don't care if my children learn about !Removed! marriage. !Removed! people in this country aren't going away, and like it or not they WILL be able to marry everywhere eventually, its a civil rights issue and it will come. Pretending !Removed! people don't exist to one's children just perpetuates a hatred and prejudice in this country towards homosexuals that in a few years will be just as outdated as hatred and prejudice against other minorities. Women have control over their bodies and !Removed! people are people too...thats the future.
  14. Thats high for the 90k service, let alone the 120k service. Have you had the timing belt replaced? It may be a combination of the 90k and 120k if you haven't done the 90k
  15. Unfortunately your car is out of the 4 year 50k mile original warranty so you can't buy a Lexus new car Platinum warranty. You can buy warranties, but they'll be aftermarket...
  16. The Vaistech will do that on the newer models. Honestly? You get used to just hitting the button. I've been hitting the button for going on 6 years now...
  17. Thats how business works, products are marked up from dealer cost so that the dealer makes a profit. They are in business to make profit. Glad you were able to negotiate a deal for it, thats great. But don't call the dealer a dirty name because they sell things for a profit. Thats what businesses do.
  18. Well, the OE tires on your 4 Runner are light truck tires, they often last longer than passenger car tires...
  19. Excellent. Sell the car and leave us alone. For what its worth I don't discount that Lexus has issues just like every carmaker does. Obviously there are rattle issues and things like that with newer cars and I have commented how I feel they've reduced the quality of their interiors on many models. However, I have been around this brand for a decade and they have always treated me right, issues I've had have always been promptly addressed and covered under warranty without question. I've used crappy dealers and great ones, even the crappy one wasn't awful but the great one is really great and my car with 120,000 miles still runs, rides, and drives as great as it did when it was new. Obviously the marque continues to rate at the top or near the top of every customer satisfaction, repeat owner rate, or dependability study out there...so I must not be alone. My issue with you is that you don't seem to want to be satisfied, you refuse to simply pay to have a new alignment done by someone else to see if it fixes your issue because of your "ethics" and in every exchange you have with a dealer, at least as it seems here, you always come away with having looked for "lies" and "deciet".
  20. As I said in your other thread and in all the other threads in which you have asked this question. NO. The system cannot be downgraded once it has been upgraded. Please do not post the same question all over the site, once in one forum is enough.
  21. I realize you're kidding... But not at all, I have no issue having a serious discussion but I'm not going to respond to rambling cynical diatribes. Issues I'll discuss.
  22. No...we have told you this before many times. Once the car is upgraded it CANNOT be downgraded and the 5.1 disc is not even compatable with the system in your car since its generation 5. Asking your question over and over again and in different forums won't change the answer. The vehicle cannot be downgraded to version 5.1 Your friends 07 ES350 disk isn't even v 5.1, its v 6.1 You cannot downgrade the navigation software once it has been upgraded, under any circumstances.
  23. Do you use the NXT and the Klasse at the same time? Just food for thought, the Klasse won't bond over the NXT, and the NXT has a lot of cleaners so using it over the Klasse would remove it. Those two products don't work well together. If you want to top Klasse you should do so with a pure paste carnuaba that won't remove the Klasse layer beneath.
  24. No, I would buy another without even considering it. Do all of us a favor and just get rid of the car.
  25. 303 is too glossy for me on interiors. I use it on exterior trim and seals.
