  1. the point of this forum is not for people to direct people away, but to help each other. there are other ways to spread the information than to link to other sites. CL also does not have the best reputation with accepting our links on their site. i am a member of both, and have attempted to post a thread about LOC on there in the past. it was immediately closed. not sure if it's a game or anything. you'd have to contact matt about that.
  2. i'll third it. :) nothin different except one is a year newer than the other when made :D
  3. sup flip... didn't see you come over here. :)
  4. i'm not sure if that's really possible, since i'm not sure what the signal relays through. if there's an additional module, and the signal relays through the box, then maybe it can make a beeping sound, but your best bet would be to go aftermarket if you're really that desperate. or wire a blue led light to the top of the windshield behind the rear view mirror that is linked to the red light beside the steering column for security.
  5. actually this would also depend on the year of the ES. the '92 and '93 ES's didn't have sound. mine being a '93, i have no sound when i press the button. but from '94 onwards, there should be sound and it's either controlled by the knob under the steering column as described by prozac, or the left side of the steering column for the first gen model. hope this helps.
  6. it's supposed to be springy. or at least mine is. i think that's for tension to keep the headlight in the correct position. my plastic thing broke off on one of my housings, and the headlights aim is horrible now. the left goes straight, and the broken right one shines too much onto the ground. be sure not to crack that. it's very important.
  7. i wish mine beeped. trying to hear all my locks click at once is hard... so i always pull on the handle to make sure they're locked before i leave the car. a remote entry fob would be so much easier. gosh sk, you're just posting everywhere on loc aren't ya. :)
  8. gas here in TX is only around $1.60 or so for premium. you can go as low as maybe $1.30+ for regular. it's not too bad... but i remember the good ol' times when premium could get bought for $.99 a gallon here in TX. i miss those old days.
  9. welcome to the club, skeemer. for the hu trouble, i can't help you much myself. the last time i tried to get that vent out, it cracked on 2 sides of the vent, so i just left it in there and decided to have it professionally installed when i get a new hu.
  10. looks real nice. that rear end on the first pic almost looks like the front end with all those circles. lol :)
  11. steve, i personally haven't known my ES to lock up from hitting things on the back. i haven't really backed into anything either, but being hit from the rear doesn't lock up the brakes either, since they both give the same type of impact, i would think that it should lock up from a rear end collision too. kevin
  12. stevie's got it. the two cars are of different generations, and the rear end is very different. on the '92-'96, the trunk lid is just the top part. but on the '97-'01, the trunk lid contains the top part and a cut through the middle of each tail lamp housing. the tail lamp housings on the second gen are two pieces, while the first gen is only a one piece tail light. if you really want it, it would have to be custom work kevin
  13. there are many different fixed, such as putting tape on it, or installing cold cathode needles on it. www.lexusdash.com does cold cathode needles. i've seen these needles in person. they're awesome, but quite pricey.
  14. wow you only got michelin's, steve? somehow, my grandpa's '03 came with Toyo Proxes... how odd... i never expected a luxury sedan to come with Toyo's but i've got nothin' against it. kevin
  15. hey steve, isn't lexus-parts from sewell lexus in the dallas metroplex or somethin'?
  16. i have sylvania blubs for my high beams. they're quite white. my low beams are now being replaced with MTEC 2x headlights. they're practically the same as PIAA's. but quite a bit cheaper. kevin
  17. my mileage isn't too bad. i think i hit 280 miles on my tank before the light turned on today. almost 20 mpg. i only drive to school. about 7-8 miles one way. lots of red lights, etc. somehow i still got a high amount of miles even though i drove the car pretty hard this two weeks. kevin
  18. sorry, don't know where the relay is. i would think somewhere between the fogs and the switch on the steering column. :)
  19. good to see you found it, lexuSY. darn, i didn't get here quick enough...
  20. lol we believe ya, mike. beautiful pic. looks great from up above. you try a higher apartment with a slight angle to the side of the car? that might be a nice stance as well.
  21. beautiful spoiler, Mike. from the side view, it looks like 2 different spoilers... is it all one piece or two spoilers? or am i just seeing things?
  22. i'm still growing on the gen 3. but gen 2.5 is still my favorite. the original ES look just something i've been used to. and the red/clear/red tails just make it all the better.
  23. welcome to the boards, stella. lol don't mind rex. he's just that way. :)
  24. nice to see all the great progress, matt. keep it up, and keep us posted. kevin
  25. i think it should fit fine. the trunks on the '92-'96 are quite wide. i haven't compared it to the '97-'01, but seeing my granddad's '99 for 3 years, i'm pretty sure it's about the same size. but i would try and find a '99-'01 ES and compare rear end to rear end. kevin
