  1. The Falkens are considered a 'High performance all season' tire.....nobody describing them ever shied away from that fact. Let me ask the question pearl......what speed rating did you buy & what tire pressure did you have them set at? sw, how can you say they are a 'low profile' tire? a '65' sidewall is hardly low profile....and would have been the same size if they were the Falkens, Michelins or Goodyear Triple Treads. They are in fact offered in 'lower' profile sizes.....but this isn't one of em. ;) I suggest Goodyear Triple Treads.....it's what I got on my 01 ES.......came first overall in a recent CR test of 18 premium all season tires as well. B) Here's some more info: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...ance+TripleTred
  2. I'm on it now sw! B) ;)
  3. With the amount of sound insulation a vehicle like the LS has (or sound deadening materials) I doubt one would be able to hear excessive road noise........I know I don't in my ES & notice things a little quieter as a matter of fact. B)
  4. The Camry SE's are going to have crappy factory tires (I will assume the 'base' 2007 ES will have these size tires standard with optional 18's) as there is not many good choices in the 215 55 17 which echo's Steviej's comments earlier.......when will the car companies get it together? :chairshot: I will be pleased if these cars come with the Michelin MXV4's as standard over the Bridgestone RE 92's or the Turanza ES 42's But I won't hold my breath.
  5. Now that's what I call a write up! :D Car looks awesome bud....very nice job. B)
  6. I want to know how much $ bmw is paying this jerk ? You should read some of the articles these so called 'auto journalists' write! They reviewed the Subaru Outback XT & although they gave it an overall favorable review....they refered to the car as a "MILF mobile"! How disrespectful is that?
  7. How are you getting to $47,000 for an IS350?!? Agreed, highest MSRP price I could get with the top package (Nav & the works!) for the IS 350 came to a total of $41,289...including destination.
  8. I'd try a 'Google' search bud ('state laws on window tinting' or something like that).....your correct that the laws do vary depending on the state (and province if one is in Canada). I personally have a 'medium' shade of tint or 20% on all my windows my ES....except the windshield of course (Ontario law states I should have at most 35% shade or 'light' on the 2 front windows......shhhhhh don't tell anyone! ). Most states will have similar rules for the 2 front side windows which they are most concerned about. If a police officer pulls up beside me at a traffic light for example (even when it's well below freezing out) I just roll down my drivers side window so they can see light through. Other than that, drive with common sense is the best advice & one won't give them a reason to pull you over or get suspicious. B) BTW, Llumar & 3M are 2 of the best quality tints available......get it scratch resistant too. Hope this helps. As for the Audio / Video / Electronics forum......it's on this site....just click on the main USA forums & scroll down about 2/3rds of the way.....you will find it. ;)
  9. Something must have happened to these people that work at this website everyone.....cause they sure don't seem to like Lexus at all! :chairshot: They already ripped the new IS (there's a post about it in that forum). I find both write up's laughable at best imo. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/content/1...56015/index.php
  10. Cool. B) I hope the back end of the new ES looks good too.....but I'm really liking that front end! B)
  11. From Canadiandriver.com January 30, 2006 Lexus to recall 3,900 RX 330's in U.S. to replace seatbelt anchor Torrance, California – Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. will launch a voluntary special service campaign with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) involving approximately 3,900 early-2004 model year Lexus RX 330 vehicles in the U.S. In certain of these vehicles, there is a possibility that the anchor bolt for the rear, left-side passenger seatbelt does not have sufficient strength. Lexus has received one report of this condition. Lexus will mail notifications to owners, who can also call 1-800-255-3987. Dealers will replace the anchor bolt at no charge.
  12. Anybody know if the 2007 ES will have a timing belt or chain? I think the new Avalon has the timing chain correct? B)
  13. I'd stick with the IS personally, but to each their own. B)
  14. I have to concur sw. B)
  15. Oh god I hope not Steve!
  16. Come on guy's, take it easy now......no need for a P***ing contest.
  17. They should provide you with good service! Good luck. B)
  18. Could have scraped the exhaust system when this happened......can you have a good look underneith or have it put on a hoist to see if anything serious happened?
  19. I think your in the wrong thread bud......needs to be moved to the RX forum. B)
  20. I like the look of this better than the front end of the new Camry! Looking very forward to the occicial unveiling. B) :D Won't be long now. AMF, what site did you find these pics on? Are there anymore? ;) What auto show is the new ES set to debut? I assume the Chicago show? B)
  21. The guy that scanned it works for Lexus. I can only presume that's where he got it. Excellent! :D Seems to confirm that the next gen ES will in fact be a ES 350....not a 330 that I've heard some sites say. B)
  22. Was this issued by Lexus directly bart? B)
  23. Because of the balance, I know this test is done. And just can't find any info on it. The test is done on a engine stand at the factory. New motor, unlimited gasoline, dino oil, They start the engine and bring it to full throttle and run it until it seizes up. How long does it take ? Something to maybe ask Lexus head office directly, perhaps JPI (like you already have).....maybe the engine is still running as we speak! ;)
  24. In all honestly dc, I think that engine will last pretty much as long as any engine in the Lexus stable if it's taken care of. Just curious (as might others be) as to why your asking about the inline 6 specifically?
  25. Do you burn any oil sk?
