Let's see pics. B) ;)

I thought the State of the Union was a pretty good speech (if a tad 'general' overall......I dould tell he didn't want to ruffle too many feathers because of the upcoming elections) & the President is correct but it will take a very long time. A little suprised (and a bit disappointed) he did not talk more (and earlier in the speech) about the poor folks in the Hurricane effected areas. :(
-
agreed. If you have the $$$ to get something like the MXV4+'s or something comparable I'd do it (sounds like the triplethreads are good tires as well). If not the Falken's are a decent tire for an excellent price. Yup, Falkens are excellent overall value & the grip with the TT's are phenomenal. B)

I hear ya! B)
-
I'm use to the one cluster myself & love the dash design of the new LS! B)
-
How did you find the grip overall pearl? Just curious. B) 98es, what tires do you have on the rear of your 'new' Camry? For best traction it's wise to have all 4 tires the same. B)
-
They must be 205. ;)

Love Lexus, Hate The Pricing Hassle.
Lexusfreak replied to BarrettF77's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
I was just doing a little checking on the Lexus.ca website.......geez, the IS 250 AWD is a tad on the 'portly' side..... tipping the scale at 3,651 lbs! ouch.....I hope Lexus eventually decides to offer the 3.5L V6 as an option for the AWD model. -
One can hope, but I think your right. :(
-
Well said sw.....I agree! Unless the pics we have here are an unfinished test mule.......maybe the 'official' unveiling will have that chrome piece at the Chicago show. But I'm kinda liking the new Camry V6 SE with the subtle spoiler & nicer looking taillights (the orange turn siginal lenses are not as noticable on the new Camry as they are on the ES). But I think the ES has a much nicer looking front end. B)
-
I noticed the chrome band is missing too. :( Anybody know when these things are due in showrooms? I'm guessing many of us will get an 'invite' to the ES launch at our local Lexus dealer (I was invited for the GS & IS too but didn't go)......I think I'm going to attend this one. B)
-
Not sure if it's just me, but from the side view pics.......the doors look really 'slabsided'....I mean much more so than the other new Lexus products (it's suppose to be basically a 'baby LS' if you will......but the LS dosen't look so awkward probably because it's larger & therefore better proportioned).....no bodyside mouldings, creases in the sheetmetal or anything......folks are going to have a lot of minor dents & dings in those doors in the future! :( I really hope this new ES looks much better live & in living colour. ^_^
-
Yeah, that's kinda what I'm finding too.
-
Yeah, I found the dash in the new Camry nicer actually.
-
Understood sw. I have only driven older LS's personally........96 if memory serves. B)
-
The H speed rating I agree with, but the tire pressures are too high bud.......40 psi for the front? No wonder it's riding so harsh. Drop that to at the most 35 all around (I have my TT's are 34.5) for several days & then let us know what you think. ;) But I think the high pressure might be part of the issue here.
-
I don't love it. Looks like every other jellybean on the road. The jury is still out for me.....I will have to see other pics in several different colours first or maybe live & in living colour. The side view is very 'Camryish' though ........more so than previous generations imo....at least from these initial pics. Not too happy with the orange turn siginals at the back either (the new Camry's rear end actually looks better I think with nicer tail lamps). No complaints about the front end however as Lexus nailed that! B)
-
You the man byo! B) :D I have a pretty good idea here, however I will ask anyways to confirm things (I'm sure others might be wondering too).....what really is the big deal for these pics to surface on the net & why does Lexus get so peeved exactly? I mean the car is 'made public' in a little over a week! Wouldn't Lexus want folks in the ES forums want us to see these....even if a tad early....we are currently their clientele? Free advertising! :whistles: It's not like there are any technical specs really (if we want most of those....we can get a general idea from the all new Camry's anyways!) ;)
-
The best pics yet byo! Much appreciated...... :D B) I wonder if Lexus head office is going to yank these now (or force them to be yanked)? :( Just curious (not sure if you will tell or not though lol)....who tipped you off about these & how did you get em?

Worst Is 350 Review Even Written ! Check Out

Encouraging who? The guy that wrote the article? -
That's more than fair sw.....I do hear where your coming from & yes you do have more experence with the LS specifically than I do.....however, the above mentioned tires (such as the TT's, Michelin Hydroedge, Conti's, Falkens etc.....how many of those specific tires did you personally have on your old LS? Or how many on the ES (We know about the Toyo's) ? I too have owned a fair share of vehicles in my 14+ years of driving (driven approx 7,000 - 8,000+ vehicles in my time......everything from a Lada....remember those? to a Viper & pretty much everything in between) & tried a very wide variety of tires to boot, I didn't fall of the turnip truck either. ;) The reviews on tirerack reflect the fact that the LS owners are a very happy bunch who do have the TT's fyi. :) I had the MXV4's on my Lexus when I purchased the car & they had a good amount of tread remaining that were all evenly worn......but the wet traction was abysmal & were actually louder than the Toyo's I replaced them with......now that the TT's are on......like I said it's like a church mouse the car rides so quiet (same goes for my wifes 2003 Forester.....they are sure quieter than the Michelim X radials that were on there) so I have a difficult time (Lexus aside for a moment) with so called 'road noise' that some folks mention.....I can't hear it & I've tried. 15 People that I know personally have the TT's on a variety of vehicles from a Cavalier all the way up to a Volvo, Infiniti & even 1 MB......I've driven in about half of these vehicles (MB & Infiniti included) all of them have commented on how much quieter their vehicles have been compared to the what was on before.....and not a 1 road noise complaint. We are not the be all & end all so called 'tire advisors' on this site (I agree we both know a fair bit & offer our advice & suggestions, which I sincerly hope helps out fellow members to at least narrow down several of the best possibilities depending on what they are looking for in a tire....isn't that the overall goal to begin with....to help other members? ) but we are far from 'Czars' on the subject (unless you have some kind of a tire engineering degree?). My 'speciality' & emphasis is geared more towards factory spec tires, mainly all seasons & mostly on FWD vehicles & occasionally SUV's......you won't see me chime in too often on someone looking for '22's' as an example. ;) Also to the original poster Pasha, it would be helpful if you could tell us exactly what you are looking for in a tire.....we know your in FL so obviously snow is not on that list.....but what things specifically are you looking for in your set of replacements? B)

Best of luck with your new ride. B) -
That is why I asked pearl what speed rating he got on the Falkens & air pressure settings he is running with. Awaiting a reply. ;) B)
-
No complaints here with the Triple Treads.......quiet as a church mouse. B)
-
Agreed.....17's will be on the base model of the new ES. B)
