  1. I've been looking for a 2000 or 2001 ES 300 model myself too. B)
  2. I always turn my AC off (and everything else for that matter like heated seats in the winter, CD player etc) before shutting my car off. B)
  3. I'd say I'm normal until I need to be aggressive! :whistles: ;)
  4. Hey I was pretty close in saying 42 & a smidge! ;)
  5. I just did a drain & fill with Amsoil ATF on my 01 ES (which also calls for Toyota type IV). Gone about 250 miles thus far & the tranny is just fantastic! I have had no problems and I am not aware of any tranny problems with anyone's Lexus vehicle that has used the Amsoil atf as a direct result of switching fluids. B)
  6. Very nice looking GS jeremy! B) I love the colour combo (same as my 01 ES) :D Wise idea to go with Amsoil.....use the ASL 5W 30, along with the Amsoil oil filters which is also the same as mine (part# SDF57). Same goes for the tranny fluid. I agree it's wise to get the timing belt & water pumped changed as well. I would suggest you consider putting tint on the car as it will really enhance the appearance of the car. Here is a link of a few pics of my car. Best of luck & enjoy! http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=20981
  7. When I bought my tint, I had 3 choices for the shade darkness......light (35%), medium (20%) & dark (5% or 'limo tint'). I factored in the colour of the interior, the sun fading it over time (they say it's fade resistand, but were talking about the sun here) and of corse the appearance. I went with the medium shade as it looked the best & was not a problem seeing out driving at night time, which the limo or 5% shade is. I put the same shade on all the windows (except windshield of course) & used a Llumar 'metalizied' & scratch resistant type of tint. B)
  8. I've owned my 01 ES for 20 months now......the car had 72,000 km's (44,500 miles) & now has 100,000 kms (62,000 miles). I average about 1,450 kms (just under 900 miles) a month. That will change in the near future large as my company is relocating soon. So I expect I will at least double or more that distance monthly. B)
  9. Do you get much snow & harsh winter conditions where you live andrecat? B) I know the wet & heavy rain weather performance in just awesome! ;)
  10. I wonder if we can get this info out of the tire makers? I agree it seems to make sense & it is very eye opening! It tells me that they (tire makers) do not have 'safety' on the top of their list despite what they advertise on TV, radio and the like, but the all mighty dollar. :( I guess I can't say that I am suprised however. :whistles: :chairshot:
  11. That's intresting, I've never heard that to be honest........I doubt the tire maker will admit that if that is in fact the case. B) Why would they make an inferior OEM tire of the same line?
  12. According to lexus.ca website, the 06 LS is currently available. B)
  13. I would have to agree with branshew's comments. Welcome to the club B)
  14. What year is the car & how many miles?
  15. Check out the boneyards, Used ones only come from wrecks. Or buy one at the stealer. ← Agreed! B)
  16. It happens. I just hope no damage was done. Good luck! B)
  17. So what does the code mean?
  18. Understood. B)
  19. Couldn't agree more sw. I wish the all auto makers put better quality rubber on their cars from the factory. B) Keep us posted on how they perform & good luck! B)
  20. Any idea if the IS 350 will offer AWD or will it just be for the IS 250? ;)
  21. Downshifting to 2 & then to 1 (1st gear below 20 MPH) from OD when your trying to slow the vehicle gradually is fine. Just don't throw it in first right off the bat say from 65 mph or something. B)
  22. Consider a strut tower brace & sway bar to tighten up the suspension. Tint for appearance. All fairly inexpensive with good results. B)
  23. I'll say 42 & a smidge! ;)
  24. I'll agree with that. Jay, is your ES still under factory warranty or was an extended warranty purchased for the car? B) You might want to have the dealer look at your concerns.
  25. Have you made a 'short list' of vehicles your seriously considering india? B)
