  1. Hi, do you know if the headlight OFF delay system can be changed to go off with the key? no delay? PS: my 97 LS400 is for sale, if interested email billydpowell@verizon.net photo below 248k miles.
  2. GREAT SCOTT!! I didnt realize how out of date my "old" 96 was.... Sure am glad I got the 99 for my wife.... Someone told me on another post I would be amazed at the changes between the 95-97 and the 98-2000, and I am..... impressive.
  3. Thats right! No pushover. Now, I just need to find $989k more to buy that bridge from Jim... ;) I think Jim does inhouse financing, but have him deliver it first.... happy hunting
  4. you should be able to get a nice one for $9700... and no. I dont work for an insurance co.
  5. sorry to be so late, but I didnt find out until today... the BACK seats will interchange, the bolt pattern is the same. HOWEVER, dont try the front, the bolt pattern is the same, but the wiring is different, the plugs match up but the wires are in different places, and 4 wires on 95-97 and 5 on 98-2000, with different color codes. cheers
  6. Welcome to the club, and follow their advice, they are two of the best, fill out your profile so we can get to know you...
  7. Welcome to the club, nice ride... you will find the LS is the best.. also fill out the profile, so we will know where you are and needed info.
  8. 95 was the first year to have the "L-S-4-0-0" badge on the right rear. the easiest way I have found to remove them is to use a piece of nylon fishing line to "saw" the double sided stick on tape that holds them on. It also helps to know where the guide pins are, because you cant "saw" through them with nylon. and you will need to drill the guide holes or remove the pins from your badges. It is possible that some badges may not have the pins, but all I have ever seen do have them. the factory double sided tape is an easy way to hold them on, but I have been told some have used glue. good luck on yours... hope this helps..
  9. I run straight 30wt in the summer and 5w-30(which means never thinner than 5w or thicker than 30w) in the winter here in Texas. I dont want oil as thin as water in the summertime.. and I recommended this to my customers at my repair shop (Richardson Automotive) and at my 5 service stations before that, 2 Gulf, 2 Texaco and one Amaco. BUT everyone has their own opinion, this just happens to be mine for the last 40 years..... and I have NEVER had engine trouble cheers.
  10. WELL, after looking on & off all day yesterday for it and calling Sewell $600. I went out on the patio and prayed... ask God for help, and He told me to call Jon, my nephew, a young guy and a good mechanic.. I did, went and got him, showed him what it looked like and went inside to warm my pizza up, he walked in and said is this it, and held it up.... I said Halleluia, where was it, he said down in the cupholder, it must have fell there after I got the parts out and I didnt see it. NOW, I took my wallet out to pay him, and he said your battery is down, so I laid the wallet down and we pushed the car out of the garage beside another one and jumped it off and I said I will take you home in this and build up the battery, we left... I noticed I was on empty and pulled into a gas station, got out felt for my wallet and remembered.. dum dum, it is in the garage.... ask Jon if had any money, (he never does) and he said yep, for some reason I picked up this $20 as I left the house, so I said , well I guess God knew I would need it. I told him he was an answer to prayer and thanked him and the Lord for watching out for me... "end of story" God answers prayer. thanks...
  11. I was removing my radio on the new 99 LS for repair, no display, everything is working, even the back lights. but NO display none- numbers or letters. SO MUCH FOR THAT. when I pulled my AC loover unit out, the left loover unit stayed in the dash and a lttle part that holds the loovers on the right side, FELL DOWN somewhere in all that mess of wires and boxes. (SEE PHOTOS) if any of you have ever removed the console/ carpet/ whatever, how did you go about it? Sewell wants $600 for a new register (would have to order it, never have sold one) ANY info/photos will help, all though the air outlets are different 95-97 & 98=2000. probably 95-2000 is basically the same, R&R console-carpet... again I say HELP!
  12. Now that's the way to buy cars! Everyone's done their homework, so it's down to yes or no! Easy peasy! No time wasted! Congrats! ... and the collection continues! I really don't mind the wheels on the car ... actually surprised myself because I'm not a great fan of aftermarket wheels on the LS. Got a buddy who works at Air Canada and used to fly down (for free of course) w a couple of helpers to DFW regularly to pick up ~57 Caddys then drive them back to resell up here. Every one I saw was in immaculate condition. I wish I had bought a couple from him. They'd be worth something today. If I was looking for another "preowned" Lex that's where I'd go. Happy Easter y'all! I updated my photos, after swapping the wheels around on all 3 LS's... what do you guys think?
  13. keep us up to date, we might want some of your parts. the radio dial on my 99 lights up but has no display, and I messed up my AC register (photo) when I removed it.
  14. no, about 20 and from south of the border... working at a auto parts store. probably had a $1000, in wheels and tires.... and the hood struts are out???? go figure... I am putting my chrome wheels off my 97 on it (they are correct for it anyway) and the woofer is not blown... lucky me, my Gaither CD's sound good. but the radio dial is blank. everything works, but blank?? got any ideas? I can have it repaired for 140. photos are my chrome and the originals
  15. Thanks, glad you like it... I will ask $5900 for the 97, so I can come down to $5500. but for a club member I will take $5000. the 97 chrome wheels will go on the new 99, original wheels off the 99 will go on the 97 and the 20" wheels and tires will be sold also
  16. Thanks to zgr81l for the parts, that leaky EGR Tube is history. we had to remove the right cat to replace it. take a look...
  17. Nice! Those are some mac rims bro! Can we get some inside shots?
  18. Nice! Those are some mac rims bro! Can we get some inside shots?
  19. Well I popped off and said I would give him $6500 for it, and he said pay me. So I did..... I dont like the 20" wheels and tires, so they will have to go.. and it has 139K on it with no record of a TB/WP, so we will do that. But it is a nice car and it is my color... So I have a new ride... The 97 will be sold OK, HERE ARE UPDATE PHOTOS: the 99 with the correct wheels, and the 96 with the correct wheels. NOW what do you think???
  20. BEEN THERE,DONE THAT... there are 2 remotes for the 95-97 LS models HYQ1512P.& HYQWDT-C. (dont know which is for yours) the way the software program is written, IF ONE of the actuators malfunctions (lazy or slow), the program stops. PERIOD. you will have to have all of them working to program the remote to your car. Your ECM is probably fine, you have actuator trouble. you can test them just hit your lock/unlock button 5 cycles, one or more is probably lazy. THAT is exactly what is wrong with my 96. right front door "hangs" I tried to cheat it, removed door panel and lubed it good and removed what rods I could so it might sneak thru the 5 cycles.... didnt work... so I just use the button to lock it and my key to unlock it... mine always work the first two times, the 3rd is my hang up.. IF you figure it out, POST IT, I read this daily. I even thought about taking my working lock out of my 97 and putting it into the 96, since my 97 is already programmed. but it looks like too much work to me... but that would work.. CHEERS...
