Here is the grille in my 99LS. I bought it here: http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/pts/1846949332.html it is one piece, like the original, bolts in. this one is called "black chrome" looking at it straight on, looks original, but as you walk up and look down, you see the chrome. neat. they also had them for the 95-97 models.
-
I found mine on craigslist.org dont know where you are, but there is one in Providence, he has a car with 5 chrome wheels, he might swap you for his spare, since it would be a spare for him also... dont cost nothing to ask.. 95-97 are the same
-
well this is not much comfort to you, since I am 76.... but the old man likes your wheels, comparing them to the stock wheels... the 5 spoke are so common now, I like "others" as a rule, like I put on mine... they are stock just mixed up.. late model on the 97 and early model on the 99... BOTTOM LINE, I LIKE THEM... YOU SHOULD DO WHAT PLEASES YOU..

Expected Cost For Brakes And Rotors On An Ls 400 1999?
billydpowell replied to Badams's topic in 90 - 00 Lexus LS400
YES, I put them on... I owned a 7 stall garage for 30 years, so I do most of it, when I put the TB/WP on my 97, my nephew (who used to work for me) done the heavy work for me, and he will also do my starter on my 99LS... I am 76, so I just coast when I can.. but brakes are so simple. -

Thanks, that was the 25th of June, 1952, my 18th birthday, I had just graduated and bought it and put the C-kit on. quite a story on the 74 pickup, I ordered it special from Ford, had them shut down the line and paint it that special Red, then continue with their colors. AND the next year they included the same Red paint in their line... and charged me 300. extra. I think Ford pickups have been number 1 ever since.. but I have enjoyed my cars.. still do.. LS400 for me.Oh,,had a horse too as a boy

NO! it doesnt flex, it is vibration/stress that gets it. tranny support and/or motor supt. are the players.. good luck, it is not easy, but the dealers have no mercy..

thanks B I read that, dont need a batt, for the last week, this thing has started instantly, weird.. My guess is it’s a bad/worn spot on the contactor plate in the solenoid. Probably all pitted and burned up. It’s intermittent because the plate moves around some and it just happens to be in a different position. Eventually it will wander back to the bad spot and you'll probably see it again... from past experience, I know you are right, and we will replace the contacts, soon.... I remember on the older cars, we would remove the end of the solenoid, turn the old bolts half around (for the clean side)turn the washer (contact plate) around (for the clean side)put it back together and they were good to go..... I am probably talking over your head... since I am 76.. and I am sure you are not. -

I have owned 8 LS's over the past 15 years, and would not even consider anything else. what more can I say???? Oh, put my new rotors and pads on today...... smooth............ best $90 bucks I ever spent.

If you are unable to find one in a salvage yard (and I doubt it) try to find an online dealer with one... it is the actuator, and it is part of the latch assembly(according to dealers). I have read of some who have used "motors from ebay" to make theirs functional, at low cost, but I never understood how they did it.

I used the Moog bushings on mine (part# K90540) and I cant tell them from OEM. car is steady, no leans... I would use them again Thanks for the reply!. Glad you are happy with them . Since Daizen are now unavailable at least to me I will use the Moog fronts as you have done and use the Energy Suspension urethane rear bushings to tighten up that spindly little rear swaybar my 1997 has. You said "no leans" I thought they all leaned to some extent. Thanks I meant no EXCESSIVE leans.... and my 97 has 247K on it.

it just turned over 140k.... but this thing is starting instantly.... every time, I will have to wait until it fails again, so I can check it... I am going to replace the front rotors and pads as soon as the weather cools off... we are running 100 nearly every day and that is not good for my 76 year old body... I got a set of TRW rotors and ceramic pads for it.. $90 bucks for everything... cheers y'all -
