Hi Tim, and welcome to LOC... I am with vbdenny, check out your power steering, and you will probably find the problem. Note: it has been covered many times on here, just read up on it.

the wheels are gone, I sold them on craigslist for $100,, thanks exhaustgasses,
and he came and picked them up
think I'll go to Saltgrass and get a steak.. Saltgrass Steak House - Texas to the Bone!
Dexron ? I guess the newer ones use that? For the Gen 1's Dexron is only for the power steering. Toyota type IV is for the transmission.
my ERROR I used CASTROL transmax see photo above (I was using my mind = dumb)
we all have our way of doing things, here is mine, I go get a gallon of Castrol transmax fluid, loosen the line at the radiator and drain out a gallon, put mine in, and 20k later, do the same thing.. works for me good luck
sorry to be slow getting back, heat was what I was referring to, I didnt elaborate since you were questioning heat, my thoughts were the INLET would be hot, and the OUTLET (going to the heater core) would not be hot since you posted lack of heat.. and you could see the range of the lever and even see it operate as you change your dials, just go to HOT and back to COLD to see it operate..
yep I am sitting at ParkPlace on their computer waiting for them to cut and flash my new key.. runs about 75$, I get a new uncut key off ebay with 3 button system in it and they cut and flash it for me.... one of my actuators will not do the 5 locks & unlocks to let me program it myself, but flashing sidesteps that....so I get a new key for slightly under 100$ and they wash my LS for me to keep it looking good for the old man...
Bob your post described why I could not wait to get into the 95-2000 models when everything got easier, even the starter was a pushover... that was a big jump for LS400 and I could not be happier I took it....
I have a set of 16 inch wheels that came off a super coupe..FREE they fit the bolt pattern of my 99LS but would drag on the caliper should fit older small caliper models.. call 972 695 6336 for my address and come and get them only 3 caps..
