  1. the man just told you how to do it....... SO? go ahead, jump under it, cut the wires, do it the "easy" way... easy billy, put the flesh down and follow the spirit.... ... good luck....
  2. Hi Alan, welcome to LOC, I really was hesitant to let it go, but it was time... we dont travel anymore and most of the time both were just in the garage... and it saves a little insurance and taxes.... I am sure the 95-97 are holding up real good. I have always thought they were the "toughest" or best Lexus has ever made, so strong, we had several but we fell in love with the 98-2000 softer ride and extra add-ons..... so we will probably drive hers until the Lord calls us home.... and speaking of Him, I have always ask Him to lead me to a real good car.... you can too.. Cheers bp
  3. I of course would certainly pick the V8 powered LS over the 6er GS. ME 2 lets be logical about it... LS Luxury Supreme vs GS good service..... easy decision,,, like the man said: Which ever you get, you will be thrilled.
  4. no Micah, only an LS for me, I drive in the daytime, just not at night, the lights just blind me... yes Denny it looks funny with only one car in the middle of the garage... but I do like the savings and I cant imagine ALL my cars in one place, they would sure be worth a ton now..
  5. yes I priced it at $4500, and he brought cash..
  6. got to where I cant drive safely at night, so I sold my black 99 yesterday, I just listed it monday and a dealer bought it... 243k but in great condition... we kept my wifes white one and put my 430 chrome wheels on it and it looks great to me..
  7. thanks guys, it was a hard decision but necessary but I still have old betsy
  8. I'm with 90LS, go to the trouble to look for the wiring, if not there then look at the one with the buttons and see how long the extra harness is to the junction/connector... and compare it to yours.
  9. well it is not a rule, just a bad choice of words, maybe "consideration" would have been better... when you are 80+ someone may be judging your words also.... I am sure I am not much help anymore, and should just read and be quiet.... while I am here, I have listed my black LS on craigslist, we are going to a one car family, and Judy's is a better LS than mine, neither of us drive much anymore and with 243k on mine I can feel/hear some looseness in my suspension and dont want to go to the expense of fixing it, knowing I wont get to enjoy it much, already cant drive at night anymore... old body's are a drag ..... but I have enjoyed both of these forums.. I look forward to them.. cheers folks. SOLD, a dealer bought it..
  10. I agree with Egas (Both engine oil and automatic transmission fluid have certain additives that deplete over time.) and also agree with the way (2qt) with oil change method of change....
  11. listen to bob, good thinking.. my 99 LS400 has 243k on it and still runs silent (nearly) and smooth... but I can just feel it getting a little loose and beginning to need more attention and restoration than I want to give it.... at 80+ I dont think I will live long enough to put another 100k on it..... so buy lower miles and enjoy putting the high miles on it yourself... I would like to put new shock/struts and bushings front and rear and really tighten it up, it deserves it... but some one else would get to enjoy it.... that and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee at a few places..... good grief I remember 5 cent coffee... and nickel movies on saturday....
  12. was the link any help??
  13. quote "People like me don't consider" quote wow bob, you seem to have an axe to grind with anyone who has a different opinion than you do... the guys on here are just trying to answer your post and you bite their heads off...... makes us want to just leave your post BLANK....
  14. temper temper bob, everyone has their own opinion and can be expressed on here... even old fudy-dudies like me.. he has 4911 post, you have 41... show a little respect
  15. I guess the old man is outdated, I always used a feeler gauge to see what shims were necessary to remove the clicking.... doing a search (which I recommend), shows this: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls400/370485-1uz-fe-valve-adjustment-and-my-thoughts-on-it.html
  16. just do a search like others do and you will find many places to buy them, including friendly dealers.

  25. you are very wrong... with the inner unit in my hand and with another new battery I can push the buttons and the feel is identical to my buttons on my other working 99 fob and I have swapped the batterys, my working fob still works on my working fob and still just only locks but will not unlock my failing one.. white 99 no unlock black 99 locks & unlocks swapping batterys did not change anything sounds confusing but I hope you figure it out.. smile...
