  1. Like what? What are you trying to get Lexus to do? They can find a real solution to it, they can replace the whole dash. There's always solution to any problem in this world. Infinti has simmilar problem and Lexus can make a taskforce with them. Remember that companies who care about their reputation and future market have to sacrifice a lot. In this information age where anyone can find a lot of information by simple internet search, in addition to the tough competition in the auto industry any company can lose their market very easily. People, including myself, were thinking Lexus would end the monopoly of Europeans over luxury cars. I can't count how many of my colleagues, my friends and relatives who know about these annoying noises. HOWEVE, IF LEXUS FINDS A REAL CURE TO THIS ISSUE THEY'ALL HAVE FAITH IN IT AND BUY LEXUS.
  2. I'm impressed you either found a 4 wheel dyno to test your car (unlikely) or took the time to pull the engine so you could get an accurate reading at the crank (highly unlikely). Kudos. ================================================================================ ======= You could not figure out that you don't have to do either of these ways you mentioned. I basically drove a number of cars that they--say-- make 165 hp. Unfortunately, the comparison was not in favor of the IS. FYI I posted a message on this issue and Bartkat replied with a chart from the dyno test of the IS, the chart shows the car does not make 165 hp although the test conditions were not that practical. Now, I am afraid you're gonna say that those cars output hp were underestimated by their manufacturers!
  3. Yes, I do. And still waiting for Lexus to do something.
  4. I have this problem too. Its annoying but i thought it was regular. Let me know how it turns out. Who knows! their dash is loose and things inside it are loose too. Once I get in this car and hear the noises coming from every where I don't care about heating/cooling. In summer, the air comes out stincky--though for a short period--- I got my IS in 1/30/06 and only made 8k miles.
  5. The IS250AWD produces less than 165 hp....so how can I believe their commercials!!!!!!!
  6. That's funny. The problem is you guys in Canada pay too much more money than here in the US for the same Intelligent Sport(IS) Pursuit of Perfection! The issue is once the service tech takes the windshield apart from the vhichle the noise will increase__this is what happened with me. But if you got better tech. service over there I'll ship my IS to them to fix.
  7. If you really crazy about it then try to get it from Sewell, follow this link: http://www.lexus-parts.com/parts_detail.asp?id=90141&all=Y It's only $260. And it is from trusted source.
  8. The general of thumb for upgrading software is to first check the new additions, fixes of bugs/problems, etc..So we don't buy the upgrade(new version) unless it worths the money. I do not why Navteq never announces/posts these changes and news about their Nav. software since Lexus does not give it a damn.
  9. 4.0 LS TECH: These TSIBs have been posted on at least two web sites for several months; so, there is no need to spend your time in copy n paste excercise.
  10. 4.0 LS TECH I've two questions and would appreciate very much your honest answer: 1- Is this tick/rattle noise of the IS250/350 solvable? 2- Is not this car overpriced. Thank you.
  11. I think you can take the battery off and put it back after a couple of minutes. If you keep pressing the key button your battery will drain. Also, IMO, walking around the car with the key in poket would help reestabilsh the comm. between your car and the key.
  12. Thanks; I have solved the problem without talking to no one.
  13. It'd be better (accurate) to mention how every one get their MPG. It's not accurate to fill your IS tank, read the display and think this right.
  14. iF THEY'RE CRACKED IN A CERTAIN PATTERN ---AND YOU THINK IT'S DONE BY SOMEONE---THEN IT'S MATERIAL PROBLEM AND lEXUS HAS TO REPLACE THEM FREE.
  15. I can not see any problem in what they did, the bumper came from the factory with difficult to see two marks(maybe these are thin yet solid) so you just use little effort to screw through them in order to install the front lic plate. The holes are not through the metal parts. So, the only thing that you've to think of is whether this dealership GM talked to you nicely or he was a kind of vulgar. If he was nice then try to work with them unless there is another dealership in your area.
  16. lambobaby1218: I did not tape that in order to use it as a proof of the noises. As a matter of fact, two out of the theree service managers that I dealt with acknowledged ==though of the record== that these rattles are due to design flaws and they said verbatim"we can not fix design problems".
  17. ============ To be less worried please read through this forum, you'll find ample resources(complaints).
  18. It may be the bearing got damaged during shipping(loading/unloading), excessive vibrations for long periods damage bearing. But you should not be worried if you have Lexus in your country.
  19. I raced no one; no one except myself ever drove this machine and I got less than 9500 miles all that said whenever I get in this car and start driving I hear rattles, crackles, etc. you name it. I taped all these noises for history. The tape title is got to be, "The Pursuit of Perfection."
  20. I have a Blackberry 8100 and I can not get my phone book updated. so, everytime I try to to transfer my phonebook it displays those icons but never ends. Any help? Tks. Sorry, I meant to transfer my phone book from my BB to my IS navigation.
  21. You're not exception; welcome to IS club! Take it to your delearship.
  22. THE ONLY WAY TO GET DISPLAY IN DIFFENT UNITS IS TO BUY A GADGET THAT DOES THAT INCLUDING OUTSIDE/INSIDE TEMP., ETC.. TRY TO GOOGLE SEARCH FOR IT.
  23. Plenty of people have fitted 20" rims (open the link I posted and you'll see plenty on 250/350's), although IMO that's extreme as I have to be careful with my 19" because of the lower profile tire. What do you mean 'speed difference'? There should not be a difference (within the tolerances of what's available) as the bigger rims sizes use a lower profile tire to keep the rolling diameter i.e. the outside diameter of the tyre the same as before...applies whether you have 16", 17", 18", 19" or 20" on the IS250/350. There's only a problem if you fit a much wider tire or use rims with unsuitable offset. My rolling diameter is slightly smaller than with the 17" rims and tires I had on the car originally, and makes a difference of around -4 mph at 60 mph from the OEM setup, but as this is within the usual +10% the speedometers read anyway it just makes it more accurate. I've verified this with a hand held Satnav over a 5 mile straight line so haven't bothered to recalibrate the Lexus Satnav I have in the car (which apparently is possible). I switch between the 17" rims and 19" for Winter/Summer driving anyway. The only other difference is a slightly harder ride due to the lower profile tire not having the same amount of shock absorbance as the original tires. There's no other change in the way the car feels as far as stability is concerned. === I missunderstood you. But if use larger tire size the speed would be higher even your speedo shows lower speed and I'm interested in knowing the difference.
  24. you can also just put the seatbelt on. I'm with you about always wearing a seatbelt. However, just last week I experienced the annoyance of the alarm... I dropped my wife off at the train station and once I started rolling again (without her), the alarm started going off. The car assumed she was still in the passenger seat. And since her seatbelt was not connected - the alarm rang for almost a minute before silencing. Does anyone know if this is because I did not put the car in Park when she popped off the seatbelt and opened the door? I haven't had a chance to test it that way. I know there's a sensor in the seat to determine if anyone is there for the airbag deployment...maybe mine isn't functioning correctly? ========== If a briefcase or something with certain weight on the seat the warning blows; also, if the seatbelt was left half pulled or so the warning signals. May be the latter is the reason and it stopped when the belt slided back to its position.
  25. I can't see 20' would fit. The tire well/bay does not seem to accomodate 20". How about the car stability? Any idea about the speed factor when you go from one size wheels to the next size up ? I know that there is a difference.
