  1. You're playing with fire! This is very tricky mod and unless you've very skilled techs then don't do it. I once asked a freind of mine up in the north and he said his dealership asked him $1500 to do it because it's approved by Lexus and it's integrated with the car security system. This is just my 2 cents. I wish you the best of luck and please keep us posted on this issue.
  2. Frankly, I don't trust any of these figures related to gas_ at least in my IS 250AWD). I fill the tank and drive the car, that's it. However, i tried so many times to track the numbers displayed but I found them inconsistent and nontrustworthy. Sorry, I disappoint some.
  3. To see the vidoeo and read details click the following link. http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/pop...76&src=news
  4. I wonder what is the effect of this kit on the aerodynamics of this car? Any comments from the savvy guys?
  5. I wonder if anyone was able to locate the 250AWD A/C drian hose? If you did please describe where it's located/how to find it? Thanks.
  6. ======================= Could you please elaborate on why you prefer IS over S4 for daily driving? Also, could you please draw a comparison between the two cars? Thanks.
  7. Do you think the 10 hp worth the problems that result from this mod? I, myself do NOT think so.
  8. I can't see these slots( dimples or whatever) have anything to do with acoustics. I have many cards that fit in there and I currently use the driver side one for my parking cards.
  9. I even think that you paid no money--if you could have played it right you'd have made money, too. You're promoting them well. I'd prefer to have a blue or have the factory dim green brighter; how much you think they may charge me?
  10. First of all, good for you because you like it. Second, the I never liked that faded green that Lexus did; it's terrible, it's just makes the car interior look like it's 20 years old. Should they made brighter and easy to see it'd be alright. There are a couple of these lights that you hardly see them in the night. However, I must say, white is not a suitable color for this car.
  11. Lexus sales person lied to me. He said ML is an option only for 350. However, no one mentioned that ASL works only with ML system. Another screw up or you may call it a blackmail. But why the button is on the NAV screen and it's active, turns on/off?
  12. it may be that because the car is far quieter whilst driving, all these little sounds become more obvious. So maybe it's no louder than on cheaper cars, just more noticeable due to less road noise intrusion. ============================================== I don't think you're right on this. I drove both cheaper cars and more luxury cars than Lexus yet this does not exist. second, does every IS have this sound?
  13. Day after day, I feel Lexus should review/requalify its service managerss/men. I have no doubt that most of them are incompetent. This would hurt Lexus itself. I'm not impressed by a service person who plugs some computerized tools to my car and say it got no problem; when they test drive the car they do it for a couple of minutes and that's all, see you later. I know some would say other car manufacturers do the same; I say this should be different; it's expenisve car and classified as a luxury vehicle.
  14. ========= From what I know, the new IS comes with either Bridgestone or Dunlop so you may stick with these two names. My delership thinks Dunlop is beter than Bridgestone.
  15. Well, It could be right that it's the mechanism of disengainging the signal is very much close to the steering wheel as tex2070 mentioned. However, it's still unacceptable because it could lead into some damage; furthermore, other cheap cars have simmilar mechanism yet don't make such clicks so why an expensive care would have it? So, it's a design flaw.
  16. I don't think it'd be good to drill a hole and install a decorative thing. The danger is corrosion/rust sometimes in the neer future.
  17. Does anyone experience this kind of cliking sound that comes from the steering wheel(250 AWD) when I turn right or left? It sounds like a click of an old keyboard or an overtoque applied on an old nut/bolt. It's noticable and persists.
  18. The 2006 250 does not come with ML; so mine has NAV but is base (according to your definition).
  19. I did my last experiment to verify if this ASL works in my 2006 250. I opened the windows while at 70 MPH and it did not automatically leve up. So the conclusion is "IT DOES NOT WORK." I bet if Lexus did any hardware thing to make this works; they got this buton in the NAV and that's it. The point is do I have to complain to dealer or Lexus of USA?
  20. Get a Ferrari engin and tweek it there in place of the IS 250 engine. Simple. The good thing is you would be awarded a patent and possibly lexus will nominate you as a grande cheif designer for their company. But you know what? you got to buy an IS first.
  21. Then it works in some cars (IS) and does not in my car because I have to turn up/down the the volume myself. And, it got to be noticable since was clear is not clear and you've to turn up the vol. as it becomes noisy. I may have to do a little experiment where I open the sunroof and check if it makes difference. The funny thing though is that they mentioned a 3 line passage in the manual that's all. At any rate, thanks for your input.
  22. I forget now but I thought there was a sensative adjustment setting along with this feature. ============================== I know you forgot but I can't think of any settings pertainent to this holly ASL; do you remember if you did at the dealership, read it in the manual or found it somewhere else? thanks.
  23. If so then it's good that it does not work in my car. but I paid for it!
