  1. you should have posted something up on the forums before you did that. the d.o.t. will rape you for everything you've got. they did that to my friend's skyline. put it in the car compactor and gave him back his car in a nice big !Removed! box. but yeah, the letter from toyota has to from japan because it was orginally built there. they are virtually the same car but things like breaks, pad, rims, lights, etc... and all that good stuff won't pass d.o.t. inspection. that or they will fine you an arm and a leg. sorry to be bearer of bad news, but either you pull some strings and get that letter from japan, or watch your car get compacted. by the way, what year is your aristo? i did a full aristo conversion on my gs300 but what's missing is the engine. that's about it... plus right had drive.
  2. hey what's going on... the 60k package will probably run you about $2500 bucks from lexus. totally not worth the money. you can do it yourself for a fraction of the cost. only thing that is worth changing is the timing belt. you could do your oil change, transmission fluid change, plugs & wires on your own. timing belt is where it's going to hurt. you actually need to take it to a shop or the dealer to change that out. that one alone will put a big dent on the wallet. good luck with your tune up.
  3. hey getting back to you on your post regarding rims. try this site. they have a lot of cool rims to look at. rims to look at hopefully this will help you out on your quest for rims.
  4. IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN, THEY SHOULD JUST BE LED'S AND NOT THOSE LITTLE BULBS. YOU WON'T KNOW UNTIL YOU YANK OUT THE BULB FROM THE AUDIO UNIT.
  5. I HAVE THE FIRST GEN GS300 AND MY CONSOLE COMES OFF IN FOUR PIECES: ASHTRAY, RADIO, AC UNIT, AND VENTS. IN MY EXPERIENCE, I TOOK OFF THE ASHTRAY, UNSCREWED WHAT NEEDED TO BE UNSCREWED AND YANKED OUT THE RADIO, AC UNIT, AND VENTS. I FORGET, IT'S BEEN SUCH A LONG TIME, BUT WHEN I REINSTALLED MY DVD UNIT, I REMEMBER HOOKING IT UP TO TWO SIDE MOUNTS WHICH HELD THE RADIO PLUS AC UNIT AND I BELIEVE THE VENTS AS WELL. HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK.
  6. IF THEY FIT, THEN YOU CAN DEFINATELY INSTALL THEM YOURSELF. FOUR BOLTS EACH FOR THE TWO FRONT SEATS, AND I THINK YOU CAN JUST PULL UP THE REAR SEAT. HOPEFULLY THE POWER HARNESS' WILL FIT FROM THE NEW GS TO YOUR OLD GS. GOOD LUCK WITH THIS PROJECT. -TWINTURBO619
  7. HEY WHAT'S UP. WHEN I'M DONE WITH MY CAR, I'LL POST UP SOME PICS ON THE GALLERY. MAJOR THING IS PAINT. AFTER THAT, THEN I'M PRETTY MUCH DONE. WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS, IT'S ALMOST SUMMER TIME. -TWINTURBO619
  8. HEY WHAT'S GOING ON, YEAH, IT'S NOT TOO FAR. THERE ARE G2G'S BUT NOT REALLY FIXED UP. I HAVE A GEN 1. I HAVE A JDM ADMIRATION KIT, WITH A CUSTOM WING, 19x9.5 RIMS, AND A DVD SCREEN IN MY CAR. IT'S PRETTY CHILL. OH YEAH, CAN'T FORGET ABOUT THE ARISTO CONVERSION. SO I GET A LOT OF COMPLIMENTS FOR THAT. I'M WORKING ON GETTING MY JDM HEADLIGHTS AND FOG LIGHTS. AFTER THAT, THEN MY CAR IS COMPLETE. ALL I HAVE LEFT TO DO IS TO GET THE TWINTURBO ENGINE. -SONY
  9. no problem... sorry about that guys, thought you are just talking about any awd gs. About the new one, let's see, haven't heard anything about an awd. I will have to check up on that one. catch you guys later. Hope everyone enjoyed the pics. -TWINTURBO619
  10. what's going on yo, glad to hear that you've pin-pointed the problem. that sounded like quite a bit of oil being built up. to be totally honest, i never heard of a time frame on when to change out the pvc pipe. i guess only when it's clogged or damaged or something to that nature. i would be interested in seeing some nice pictures of the engine bay. laters... -TWINTURBO619
  11. what's going on yo, i'm in san diego. hope pulling out the stereo isn't too dificult. good thing is that when you put an aftermarket radio, you can bolt them to the two towering brackets so if someone wants to steal it, they would actually have to take the whole console with them... =)
  12. open the ash tray, and take a firm grip on the opening. pull it off and disconnect all necessary wiring and or screws... from there, I think you can figure out the rest. the whole console should come off in four pieces i think. haven't taken mine apart in so long. and it was a nakamichi too. -TWINTURBO619
  13. Alright here we go... to answer your question about an all wheel drive gs300, i've posted pics of the toyota aristo 4.0V i-four from my j-spec brousure. I can never spell that word right. But anywho, i've posted five pics, one showing the brosure, the car itself, the drive train, the close up of the "awd" labeling, and the close up of the model number. Hopefully this will clear up some confusion. So remember there are three models, 3.0q, 3.0v, 4.0v i-four. Now smile =)~ -TWINTURBO619 P.S. and for the dood from management givinig me heat about the caps, no probs here... putting up the good news for my fellow aristo owners =)
  14. SORRY ABOUT THAT, BUT I LIKE TYPING WITH CAPS. BESIDES, THAT'S OLD SCHOOL ABOUT THE TYPING IN CAPS IS YELLING... PEOPLE NEED TO LET THAT GO. BUT ANWAYS, YEAH I HAVE THE BROUSHURE AT HOME. I'LL TAKE A COUPLE OF PICTURES. IF YOU REMEMBER THE OLD SITE "LEXUSFANS.COM" THEY HAD THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE ARISTO. BUT THEY DON'T HAVE THE SITE UP ANYMORE. -TWINTURBO619
  15. I'LL TAKE PICTURES OF THE BROSHURE TODAY OR TOMORROW, AND POST THEM UP ON THE GALLERY FOR EVERYONE TO SEE. -TWINTURBO619
  16. IF ANYTHING, GO WITH THE MTX SETUP. PERSONALLY I WOULD STICK TO JL AUDIO OR BOSTON ACOUSTICS. -TWINTURBO619
  17. POOR CAR, DON'T DRIVE IT TOO HARD... -TWINTURBO619
  18. SORRY TO BURST YOUR BUBBLE BUT THERE IS AN AWD GS300. IT'S CALLED THE TOYOTA ARISTO 4.0IZ (I THINK) THAT IS A FACT PLUS I HAVE THE BROUSHURE TO PROVE IT. SHOWS ALL THREE MODELS, 3.0Q. 3.0V, AND 4.0IZ. IT'S PRETTY NICE. I'VE SEEN THE CHASSIS WITHOUT THE BODY. I BELIEVE IT HAS THE SAME DRIVE TRAIN AS THE TOYOTA TUNDRA. BUT BETTER BELIEVE THAT THERE IS AN AWD OUT THERE. BY THE WAY, THAT IS A COP CAR IN JAPAN. -TWINTURBO619
  19. HEY THERE WHAT'S UP, SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR TURBO TROUBLE. CURIOUS, WHAT TURBO SETUP ARE YOU RUNNING AND WHAT HEAD ARE YOU USING? 2JZGE BLOCK WITH 2JZGTE HEAD OR ALL 2JZGE. WELL ANYHOW, YOU SAY THAT THE OIL IS LEAKING FROM THE OPENING OF THE TURBINE WHERE THE AIR INTAKE IS CONNECTED? I LIGHT FILM OF OIL IS ALRIGHT BUT YOU HAVE AN IV DRIP WHICH PROBABLY MEANS YOUR TURBO SYSTEM IS NOT TIGHTENED OR HOOKED UP, OR EVEN SHOT. AS YOU KNOW TO HOOK UP A TURBO TO A NON TURBO CAR, IT NEEDS TO BE OIL COOLED. SO WHEN INSTALLING THE KIT, YOU HAVE OIL LINES GOING TO THE OIL PAN (OR SOME OTHER OIL FEED) THEN RE-CIRCULATING BACK INTO THE TURBO. THAT'S WHERE YOUR PROBLEM IS. IT'S ALSO BAD IF YOU GET OIL IN THE THROTTLE BODY. IF YOU CAN TRY TO CLEAN OUT THE BUTTERFLY WING INSIDE WITH A RAG AND SOME THROTTLE BODY CLEANER (REMEMBER DO NOT, DO NOT SPRAY THROTTLE BODY CLEANER INSIDE THE THROTTLE BODY, JUST SPRAY A CLOTH AND USE LIKE A LONG SCREW DRIVERS TO CLEAN THE INSIDE). SO CHECK OUT THE OIL LINES GOING TO AND FROM THE TURBO. MAYBE YOU HAVE SOMETHING LOOSE OR EVEN UNPLUGGED. AS FOR YOUR CHECK ENGINE THING A MA JIG, YOUR MAF SENSOR IS PROBABLY GOING CRAZY BECAUSE TOO MUCH FORCE INDUCTION IS PASSING THROUGH, IF YOU HAVE IT CONNECTED. AS FOR YOUR PCV VALVE, YOU MIGHT WANT TO REPLACE IT, IF IT NEEDS REPLACING. IT'S ABOUT 120 BUCKS I THINK. I NEEDED TO REPLACE MINE. THAT'S ALL THE ADVICE I CAN GIVE AT THE MOMENT, SEE IF YOU CAN POST SOME PICTURES. GOOD LUCK -TWINTURBO619

  21. SORRY TO SAY, BUT THEY BOTH ARE NOT VERY GOOD SYSTEMS... ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT TO PUT IN A LEXUS. PUT SOMETHING OF MORE QUALITY LIKE JL AUDIO OR BOSTON ACOUSTICS. YOU WILL GET MUCH MORE QUALITY SOUND OUT OF THEM.
  22. WELL I HAVE THE NAKAMICHI SYSTEM IN MY ARISTO AND ALL I DID WAS RIPPED OUT THE OLD AMP AND PUT IN A SONY AMP. I RAN ALL THE STOCK SPEAKERS AND TWEETERS TO THE HEAD UNIT AND DEDICATED THE AMP TO THE STOCK SUB ALONE. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THE COMBINATION. LEXUS HAD TUNED THEIR FACTORY SO LOW THAT YOU DIDN'T GET THE FULL POTENTIAL OF THE FACTORY SUB. YOU CAN ACTUALLY HERE MY STOCK SYSTEM COMING DOWN THE STREET PLUS BASS. NOT BAD FOR NAKAMICHI. I DON'T KNOW IF MARK LEVINSON CAN HANG WITH THIS SYSTEM. -TWINTURBO619
  23. I HAVE A FIRST GEN GS300/ARISTO AND RIDING ON INTRAX SPRINGS. IN MY OPINION, THESE ARE BETTER THAN EIBACH. I USED TO HAVE EIBACHS BUT AFTER A WHILE THEY GOT BOUNCY AND LOST IT'S LUXURY RIDE. WITH THE INTRAX, I WAS SURPRISED THAT UP UNTIL NOW, I STILL CURRENTLY HAVE THE COMFORTABLE FACTORY RIDE. CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THAT. WELL THAT'S MY OPINION. AS LONG AS MY CAR CAN BE TRICKED OUT BUT STILL RIDE LIKE A DREAM, THEN THAT'S ALL GOOD WITH ME.
  24. A CLEAR INDICATION ON HOW YOU KNOW YOUR VALVES NEED ADJUSTING IS WHEN YOU HEAR A LIGHT KNOCKING FROM YOU VALVE COVERS WHEN YOUR CAR IS JUST IDLEING. THE PROCEDURE TO ADJUST YOUR VALVE SPRINGS ARE NOT TOO HARD. ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW IS THE GAPING SPACE FOR YOUR VALVE SPRING CLEARENCE.
  25. I WAS READING YOUR POST AND WAS INQUIRING WHAT KIND OF CAR DO YOU HAVE? I USED TO HAVE A SUPRA TURBO AND PROBABLY COULD PROVIDE SOME INFO FOR YOU. SINCE YOU HAVE PLAY ON YOUR TURBINE, YOU BETTER TIGHTEN IT, IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO, THEN YOU'RE TURBO IS PRETTY MUCH SHOT. IT'S ALRIGHT TO HAVE A FINE FILM OF OIL INSIDE SOME OF YOUR PIPING, BUT BY THE LOOKS OF THINGS, YOU HAVE TOO MUCH OIL ESCAPING FROM YOUR LINES. NOW I DON'T KNOW IF YOUR TURBO SYSTEM IS OIL, WATER, OR AIR COOLED, BUT I SUGGEST THAT YOU TEAR OUT YOUR OLD TURBO SYSTEM, AND BUY ANOTHER ONE. SORRY ABOUT THE NEWS, BUT IF YOU CAN SALVAGE IT, THEN GO FOR IT. TAKE CARE.
