  1. If you wanna play the game, you have to pay the entrance fees. Otherwise, you can allways try Ebay.
  2. The Lexus emblems are vinyl stickers. You can get them from several places. I get mine from JVD Graphics. Heres a link:JVD Graphics I've ordered from there more than a few times, and this little envelope shows up about a week later with the stickers in it. They allways work perfectly, and he includes 2 sets of each in case you mess up.
  3. But Toyota was smart enouph to start Lexus, and try to make a Toyota LS 400 to compete with BMW or MB. Which has allowed Lexus to grow on it's own. The Genesis is going to suffer tremendously by the Hyundai name alone in residual value. You can't just look at and compare the retail price, you have to account for the trade in value or resale value later to get the full picture. This is not how you compare cars. The Genesis is no LS. Not even to stretch the imagination. Nor is it a BMW 7 series, or a MB S class. You obviously haven't driven any of these. And why haven't you compared the Genesis to the Chrysler 300? That car starts at 27K, and has a lifetime powertrain warrentee. And is the same size, and class vehicle. And in 4-5 years, that GS, (look at 5 years ago to today to see what I'm saying here.) is going to be worth 10K more than the Genesis will be. So your bargain just flew out the window. I'm not hating on Hyundai, I just think the media was paid to pump this car up, and alot of people have bought right into it. And btw, the longer warrentee wasn't invented by Hyundai, you should talk to Lee Iacocca, formerly of Chrysler about that. He knew, and even admitted later they were turning out inferrior vehicles, so they slapped on a longer warrentee to help pump up sales and said they would just deal with the problems later.
  4. Hello, welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. I meant to post a welcome earlier, but I was on a portable at the time. I see you changed the pictures you originally had up. I was going to ask you a question about them, but I don't see it any more. Can you tell me more about Vyborg? Where exactly is that in Russia? What do you do for a living? or work?
  5. Umm, you know they sell those on Ebay for $7.95 and they claim you can get 70+ hp out of thiers! Don't waste your money or your time even looking at those. They don't work. If you read "how it works." you see the idea behind it is to change the IAT signals. ( Intake Air Temp.) Based on the theroy of fooling the ECU into thinking that an ideal air temp of like 60 degree is coming into the motor, hence changing the A/F ratios to gain more performance. If that ever worked, I haven't seen on what motor yet. The IAT is only one processed signal, as the 02 sensors, the MAF, and along with a few others would have to be overridden also. And the ECU logic would have to be changed. Most people think that ECU's are programmed for the best performance based on sensor readings, and unfortunately it's not. The ECU is programmed to calculate for the best emmissions ratios possible. SO if you changed the IAT sensor reading, the moment the exhaust 02's read NOX or lean conditions, you would throw a cel and the system would begin to adjust the timing, and you would probably lose hp, and get worse mpg's. And that's if the chip really changed or altered the signal any.
  6. I guess I just don't see why all the fuss. According to Hyundai, the Genesis compared to the Chrysler 300, Lexus ES 350, Pontiac G, and the Cadillac CTS V-6. When I run the numbers, the Hyundai V6, fully loaded comes to an MSRP of $39,400.00 and the wheel locks and mats are an extra $150.00. The Lexus ES 350 fully loaded is $41,671.00 . Even the new G37 Journey with the technology package and performance tires is $41,361.00 Am I missing something? We're talking about a $2,200.00 difference. And in 5 years, which car is going be worth more? I fail to see the huge value in purchasing the Genesis.
  7. Those are both 18x8's with 40 mm offsets. I was having a problem with the rims I had on the car before. So the company I bought the first rims from gave me credit towards replacing them, but I had to get the rims from them again. So I had to dig to find the ZR1's. Which was a much nicer rim than the ones that I had on there before.
  8. If you like the Falkens, then I would get the Enkie's FLC-01 in the same color and finish. Go to Discount Tire.com and look on there. They have them.
  9. Yeah, the right side driver would be a very bold move.
  10. The rims I put up were from the Work Emotion Line. I like those alot, but they were a bit on the tuner side for me this time. So I went with the Work Varianza T1S for my IS350 : As for my IS300, I went with the Enkie ZR1: But I'm going with either Work or Volks later. Well, to be honest,( this is just my opinion, I'm just not to crazy about any of the 3. The Ace Radiums look a bit cheesy, the 5 spoke are terrible, and the Falkens would look much better if they didn't have that directional twist offset thing going on. I understand the cost issue. But have you been to Tire Rack.com and looked there also? they have a "sport" line that is pretty cost targeted and the wieghts on those weren't bad.
  11. Actually I like : better.
  12. Here's a new link: Lexus TSB listings
  13. Theres a technical service bulletin out that I think covers the issue you have. It's TSIB EG001-03 excessive sulfur odor. Here's a link, so you can look it up yourself and if you have to, show your dealer the link so they can see the TSB for themselves. Lexus TSB listings
  14. Unless you already have the front lip on there, no, it's part of the bumper. But the good news is that's an easy fix. If you put your hand just above where the scratches are, that part is actually part of the mesh grill insert there. YOu can easily pop that off, and sand that front area with 220, then 1000, then a 2000 rub, and have it repainted. Put the lower grill back in and you would never know it ever happened. If you pulled the grill yourself, did the sanding, and took it to a paint shop, I wouldn't imagine them charging more than 50 bucks to repaint it. The Obsidian Black is a single stage paint, all you need is the paint color code, and to find someone who uses good quality urathane paints and knows what their doing. If you just wanted to take it in and have it done I think you might spend $150 (ish) bucks.
  15. Now that's a nice looking set of brakes! Very nice. I love the look and feel of forge aluminum calipers.
  16. Can you post some pictures to let us take a look?
  17. I just got my Left Lane reports and it had the 2010 RX in it. I cropped out a photo: Heres a link : Left Lane 2010 RX 350 and I found this: I'm liking the new RX. I think it looks pretty cool.
  18. Yeah, that's Adrian's car. He's a Team Solo member. That car is sick. He's done alot more to that car since, and still has it. I think it was last year or the year before he did a full GTE swap, turbo/ intercooler, and chromed it all. I have pics of his car around here........ Great guy too. He's around alot of the forums.
  19. Nice!! For some strange reason, when ever I see a military issue Humvee, I want one. But I know it's ridiculous. LOL!! Kinda like an Abrams or a Bradley. They just look to cool. Have you heard anything, and are you able to talk about some of the new technology in weapons? Like I have seen on tv new higher velocity M16's outfitted with helmet targeting systems and so on. Just curious if any of that was real or not.
  20. I have the Turanza ER33's on my 08 IS350 also. The tread wear hasn't been to bad. I have almost 10,000 miles on them, and it looks like I have another 10k to go on them. The only issue I have is that they are a Grand touring tire, and not a performance tire, so feel is a bit soft, the sidewalls flex a bit to much when you turn hard, losing that quick turn response, and they never have that on center feel that I almost have come to expect from good tires being made these days. I don't know if they do or not, but I really think these tires would be much better suited for the ES than the IS.
  21. the best time I have seen so far is 13.079 by Gernby. If I'm not mistaken he changed the size of his wheels, and also has intake, exhaust and a few other bolt ons, and I think he also pulled alot of weight out of the car. I'm not exactly sure on all that though, except for his time. 13.079 is his best so far.
  22. The " more to this story" just surfaced. Ok, they don't issue salvage titles for "light front accidents." Try more like frontal collisions with airbags deployed and subframe damage. Inspected by whom? Seems to me they missed a few things if you have a cel list that reads like the coordinates on a map, and a bunch of non working essential components like windows and climate controls. And you paid $19,500.00 for a 2006 RX 330 with a salvaged title? That's not a good deal. Here's a 2005 RX with 41K miles, carfax certified, and 1 owner for $19,000.00 2005 RX 330 The best advice I think I can give you at this point is to: A} try to return this POS and get your money back, or B}Find yourself a good independant mechanic and just add him to your payroll. B)
  23. I've seen them on EBAY already: EBAY 8.1 update And I just got an update from lexus for the part number :00230-GEN23-CY08 Carson has on it's website that it was due out in mid October also. I know that Lexus has run behind somewhat, but I thought maybe they were coming out with it this year already.
  24. So, does anyone have the new 8.1 update yet? And do we know if there are any differences and upgrades from the 7.1 version?
  25. That's probably the bulb. An easy test is to take the bulb you think is blown out, and put it in the other headlight that works. If it comes on, it's the ballast. If it doesn't come on, then it's the bulb. I've gotten both bulbs and ballasts off EBAY pretty cheap, and I haven't had any issues. You may save a few bucks that way. ;)
