  1. please remember that Jap cars residing in Japan are tuned for 100 octane fuel while in the US its anything from 87 to 93 aint it? surely that must play an important factor into consumption and performance
  2. I have changed all the badges apart from the Engine and the steering wheel. The wheels caps i ordered from Lexus and cost about £160 UK Pounds.. not so cheap.. but these were shipped over from Japan! The rest of the badges are glued on with sponge pads type stickers.. very thin and you cannot see them unless you look real close.. but then still hard to see. The front and back toyota badges do leave holes and you need to make sure you new lex badges cover these holes. the badge on the steering wheel is not that noticible really. If you go to our UK site and PM Chris Shipley and ask for the part numbers for the wheel caps then I am sure he will send you the part numbers. These are official Lexus parts and are for the US and NZ market i guess
  3. here are pics of my Windom that was imported to the UK

  8. i'd rip the the whole lot out and get shot of it. i paid £800 for the whole set up (around $1300) and got some nice kit for this sound is brilliant. The old system was slung in the trash! best place too
  9. well.. thats makes sense.. something even i have never looked into!
  10. hi congrats on the buy! Answer to 2 of your questions. 1. If everytime ou go over a sharp bump or pothole and it makes a thudding noise then i would suspect the shocks need replacing... i had similar problem with mine.... while you have these replaced get the anti roll bars bushes replaced too.. makes a difference! and is relitively easy to fit. The bushes are cheap too. 2. The fan may be a hydraulic fan which is powered by the sterring fluid and runs all the time. The fan should be ample for hwat you need as it is permanently on and speeds up as you drive. (if hydraulic)
  11. impressive! wow.. you could sell custom made models! I actually drive a Windom that was imported from japan! Fully loaded too!
  12. when i get definate numbers I will be posting it here. lets hope no rivals will be sitting in their lexi with a bazooka! eh?

  14. most of the parts are.. i am going from an SV10 chassis (92 - 96) drive shafts engine chassis engine mounts bodywork will be slightly differnt. But i think the doors are the same.. so the window motor and reg will be the same.
  15. as the intake hose splits due to the excessive engine play... caused be stalling problems as the split would open up when pulling away causing the car to stall... very embarresing! I did not replace my bottom mount as it did not need replacing
  16. also.. as you have had alot of play with the engine I suggest you check this for any signs of splitting

  23. mat... i was chatting with you on ICQ.. why did you not mention it? :chairshot:
  24. I was chatting to a fellow member at a meet yesterday about fender shocks on his Aristo. I am not sure of the real name for this feature but we were looking over my windom and we think the ES300 has this feature too. What actually happens is if you reverse into something a mechanism clicks and locks all the brakes so you do not cause any more damage apart from the fender. Apparently you unlock the brakes from under the hood by releasing a switch. I cannot say for sure that definatly is a feature but from looking at it we reckon it might. does anyone know if this is available for the ES? also this may be only on the jap import windoms or jap imported aristos as these do come fully loaded with many toys.
