  1. http://www.troublecodes.net/Lexus/ says 96 and later you need the reader????????????
  2. try hitting the dash above it while driving. it works for my speedometer when it gets stuck after a long trip :D
  3. i notice in my 95 ls that when i am cruising along around 50 or so and higher and take off the gas, the rpm's seem to drop quickly to a low point and then shoot back up to a higher rpm. is this normal? i was thinking that it was dropping into a lower gear and that's why the rpm was jumping back up. the car has 64,000 miles on it. there is no jerking when i accelerate again. :( thanks.
  4. yea, take it back, that's not normal

  8. who cares what the cost are when it's free? what do you have to lose?
  9. could be the brake rotors also causing the vibe
  10. the battery is inside the key. after taking the screw out, separate the two halves. it will take some pressure to open if it has not been open in a while, due to dirt and grime inside the key, gluing it together.
  11. your 96 should be like my 95. the low beam is 9003 st and it has 3 prongs sticking from the bulb. the site is wrong and you are messing with the high beams, they have plugs on the end. i too bought the wrong ones because of the site and since the 9006 looked like the high beams on the car, i thought it was the low beam light and could not understand why it wouldn't work.
  12. i had the michelin’s on mine and i like the goodyear's better. my car wondered on long trips also with the michelins, even after an alignment. once i put the goodyear's on, no more wondering. the car was out of alignment when i bought it, with the michelins. so i think the car was trying to track the way the tires had worn after the alignment. monarch, maybe your old tires had worn to your alignment and that's why your car was tracking straight with them. maybe now the car is wondering because your alignment is off and with the even wear of your new threads, you are now feeling the wondering?????????????
  13. i bought a set of the goodyear assurance trippletread tires for my ls. so far, i love them. they have a nice soft ride and have excellent handling. they are rated to 118 mph, which is high enough for me. i'm too old to drive over 90, lol. they seem to have flat spots easilly from sitting but they quickly smooth out. I got a great deal on them with rebates totaling $180.00. i love the way the rim sits inside the tire's ring so if you hit a curb, you will not scratch your rim because the tire protects it. Also what’s nice is the 80,000 mile warranty
  14. also, check the alternator to see is it keeping the battery charged, after all of your charging it

  17. i went to sears and another tire shop and they say it was not good to put the hydroedge on because it is not rated high enough. they told me i need an h or v rated. sears will not put them on because of the rating <_<
  18. has anyone tried the michelin hydroedge on there ls yet? i was thinking of buying a set although consumer reports rate the falken as the best and it's cheap thanks
  19. i am looking for 225/60/16 thanks for the advice. the tire dealers tell me to stay away from the falkens i can't understand why when they were rated number one by consumer reports :(
