  1. Been posted a few times and a search would reveal this, common problem is failing coil packs usually the one on the driver's side, also check the routing of the HT lead from this coil to the distributor if the grommit on the top cam belt cover isn't fitted correctly the lead can be damaged. Another possible is the crank sensor on its way out, they become thermally sensitive.
  2. Great result. Your Celsior looks the same color as mine Lexus Dark Silver? Get yourself some smoked turn signals around $50.00 on ebay takes years off the car!
  3. I've only just got mine back on the road after a front end shunt and body shop repairs ( panels repaired not replaced) So pleased to finally get back behind the wheel and enjoy the Lexus quality once again.
  4. The part numbers are exactly the same (27060-50010/50011) so it will be a straight swop, don't forget to replace the PS reservoir O ring and disconnect the battery. Welcome to the LOC
  5. Given your symptoms I would be looking at a faulty TPS. If the tracks are worn at that particular point it could cause a dlitch on the trottle at 1300 RPM.
  6. The post is now over 5 months old so I guess it's either repaired or scrapped by now.
  7. Also keep an eye on the power steering fluid level in the pump reservoir, a constantly dropping level would confirm a leak around the steering rack area although from your photographs it looks fairly obvious.

  9. Lexus wheels have a PCD of 114.3 and the Caddy wheels are 115 so should in theory fit. Most wheels have the details of the offset and rim width stamped on the rear of the wheels so have a look to see how they match up. Other than that trial fit one of the fronts to see if the calipers are cleared and how they look on the Lexus. Make sure you use the correct lug nuts as Lexus OEM are normally sleeve type and after market/other makes may be tapered.
  10. Check the IACV this is mounted at the very front of the engine with rubber hoses connected to it, this device controls the idle speed and either needs a good clean, repair or replacement. A simple search of the forum would have revealed this. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=30723
  11. There is also a UK based LOC with models having the steering wheels on the same side as yours :P As to the fault have you asked the dealer why they cannot read the diagnostic codes? A common problem is one of the wheel sensors/wiring faulty, could be an easy fix ( certainly for a dealer) or major expense like the brake booster pumps on the MK2 GS300.
  12. Nice photography work! Wonder how the engine bay would look after a good run?
  13. Hi and welcome to the LOC, Sorry I don't have any specific information on the LS430 but my driver's handbook for my LS400 provides a list of all the fuses fitted in the car and this includes which circuits each fuse feeds. On the LS400 fuse 16 7.5A supplies the "Starting system, cruise control system, multipoint fuel injection system and instrument panel lights" Have a look at your book to see if gives similar information which may help you find the problem. There are also aften CD ROM copies of the workshop manuals on ebay for a few $$ which include the wiring diagrams showing what this fuse feeds and the associated wiring.
  14. Welcome to the LOC. Searching would have revealed the answers but seeing as you are a new member If you are referring to mirror mounted LED turn signals you can buy the complete mirror casings with them fitted, have a look on ebay for them. I don't know what the quality is or ever fitted any and you will also need to wire them into the existing loom. These are for the 90-94 model but the later ones are around somewhere. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1990-1994-Lexus-LS400-Clear-LED-Mirror-Covers-JDM-/320759904895?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4aaec7ba7f#ht_1147wt_1165
  15. With the color of your car I would go for the clear turn signals, the smoked look better on darker paints. If you look at my avatar picture mine was fitted with clears then I fitted the smoked, with the color paint I have they blend in well I think. BTW if you or anyone else does order any I need another set of the smoked for a 1992-1994 model as one of mine was damaged in a recent accident. The price is good but the shipping is very high (way too high!) to the UK. So if anyone is willing to order a set for me and then forward ship at a more reasonable cost to me in the UK I would be happy to send the funds via Paypal. Here is mine with the smoked. If you look carefully you can just see the damage to the front right side unit
  16. P1350 is normally an ignition problem so head towards coil packs, ignitors and the ECM drive signal to them. I wouldn't have thought the timing belt to cause the problem you have but with 90,000 miles and 12 years on it I would get it replaced yesterday or you could be adding a new engine to your problems if it breaks!
  17. I'm not sure if the door lock mechanism in the 430 is similar to the earlier 400 but the motor in the lock does fail and for some reason it seems to be the passenger door that fails (mine included). You really need to remove the door trim and have a look at the linkages to see if they are free to move and correctly attached. Another common problem is the door light switches but this normally gives other symptoms like the interior light stopping on and the alarm going off. If you are OK with DIY and get hold of a secondhand lock you can replace the motor.
  18. The LS400 key does indeed have a blade heater, this should only operate when the ambient temperature is below 32 degrees and is to assist entry into the car if the door locks have frozen and the remote locking/unlocking has failed. If the key blade heater is on all the time there must be a problem with the temperature sensor in the key fob and also this will reduce the fob's battery life. You could take it to a Lexus dealer for repair but the cost would be high so have a look on ebay for a good used key.
  19. The orange turn signals make the LS look dated grab yourself some clear or smoked replacements on Ebay for around $50.00 shipped. You can also get clear rear light clusters for a couple of hundred $$.
  20. You may also find a search helpful, particularly www.lexls.com where weird lighting issues are diagnosed as a broken wire in the trunk hinge wiring loom causing faults such as you have. If you have the EML illuminated there will be code(s) stored in the memory which need reading to help find the cause ( google Lexus LS400 diagnostic codes).
  21. Welcome to the LOC, please turn your caps lock off and here is the specific link http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/lighting/tintedtaillights.html For the front sidelight lift up the hood and you will see a black plastic tab on top of the light unit, remove the crosshead screw, lift up the tab slightly then get you fingers behind the vertical section of the light next to the headlight and give it a good tug.It is held in with clips but don't worry they won't break.
  22. It sounds like the usual coil failure,it's normally the passenger side one that goes opposite and slightly below the battery tray. Also check the HT lead from it to the distributor cap as they can be damaged if not routed correctly.
  23. The part you need is the Engine under cover No.1 part No. 51441‑50070 around $150.00 from Lexus. As for the speedo and tacho needles a common fault on earlier models was excess lubricant on the shafts causing them to stick, try hitting the top of the dash next time it happens and see if they move. Oh and welcome to the LOC.
  24. Can't be sure but the sub amp may be in the trunk located near to the fuel tank, remove the trim at the rear of the trunk and have a look by tracing the sub speaker wires back to the amp.
  25. Hello and welcome to the LOC. This subject has been covered before and a search of the forum would have provided your answer but as a new member I'll point you in the right direction, check the fuse panel above the drivers kick panel (remove 3 screws to access) and then check fuse 5 first (15A) then if this is OK check all the other fuses. The fuses should be listed on the cover. There should be some spare fuses in the panel but make sure the penny is removed from the cigar lighter 1st and then replace with the same rating fuse. An easy way to remove the coin is to attach some BluTac ( UK brand name sorry), a double sided sticky pad or even chewing gum onto a small screw driver or similar then press it onto the penny and remove.
