  1. Hello, I am wondering what I should substitute my stock headlights with? I was driving to a different job site and unable to see much infront of me on an unlit highway. I had to follow someone :( as if they were a guide. I'm considering buying some Eagle Eyes headlights. http://www.ebay.com/itm/93-94-LEXUS-LS400-EURO-CLEAR-HEADLIGHTS-CORNER-SET-6PCS-/300469425198?hash=item45f55f942e&item=300469425198&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr#ht_3430wt_995 Please advise what all basic parts I need in order to do this. I am forever in debt with you all. Any comments or help is greatly appreciated. I just need an upgrade for these dark areas and curvy mountain roads here in Colorado. By the way, I LOVE my Lexus (bought 6 weeks ago). Best car I've owned. -Katripus
  2. Nice. $200 though, I think I'll start making a list and cross them out as time goes by :). I found this place called http://www.4seasoncarwash.com/ and they'll clean/wax/buff my car for $45. Also, I read a google review on them where a guy brought them some "touch up paint"; "great service! I took my used 2000 Mercedes in for an exterior detail. I had intended just to drive around to a couple of places and get prices, but after Eddie took the time to show me what he could do to treat the superficial scratches and polish up the paint, I was sold! The company gave me a ride home and picked me up so I didn't have to stay at the store for the couple of hours it took him to finish. I left them my touch-up paint and Eddie did a great job of covering up some of the larger scratches on the bumpers. He asked me to bring it back in a couple of days later when the paint dried so he could finish buffing up the area to help it blend in with the original paint. I couldn't be happier with how the car looks! I will definitely return here again, and refer all my friends as well. " I notice some nicks on my lower bumper. I looked at the Color Codes on my car. I couldn't find anything for LA05, then I found this neat site. http://www.paintscratch.com/cgi-bin/makepaint2.cgi Looks legit. Would it be realistic if I did this myself without any experience before visiting them on Sunday (it's been raining, should clear up by then) or best to leave it to them, shouldn't be expensive ya think? Thanks for all the helpful input! -YoshiMoshi~
  3. @1990LS400 I looked for those type of euro lights for my year because that'd look so nice, but I couldn't find any before 1993. So maybe as an alternative, are there custom/special kinds of bulbs that appear brighter or with a blue like glow? @Steve That's what I was thinking too. But, somehow, I feel that maybe the smoke signals would bring more style/new age with it. My bumper paint is lighter than yours, but would the smoke somewhat match with it? Would the clear/white look classy or boring? What do you think it'd cost to paint only the bumper / lower side of the car to a different color. Maybe a black? I wish there was some kind of simulator. Maybe photoshop? Haha. By the way, thanks for all the input everyone!
  4. Here's a picture attached of what it looks like at the moment (pic taken during the late evening). I'll definitely get it pro waxed if the price is right. Also, I found some bumper signals on ebay. What do you think would look better? Smoked or clear? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Depo-90-94-Lexus-LS400-Clear-Turn-Signal-Bumper-Lights-/180722714176?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3ALexus&hash=item2a13e9c640#ht_6824wt_1084 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-94-LEXUS-LS400-BUMPER-SIGNAL-LIGHTS-LAMPS-JDM-SMOKED-/250854459136?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3ALexus&hash=item3a68174700#ht_4271wt_1084 -Thanks!
  5. I bought a 92 Lexus LS400. New owner and proud as hell, looks so very nice! What kind of upgrades / mods that are cheap and affordable that one could do to enhance the look or feel? Maybe some kind of tachometer lighting or new LED switches on the door panels? What's the best wax? Should I pay for someone to buff wax with their buffer tools? HID lighting worth it? Chrome trunk addons? I haven't much a clue. Thanks for everything. -Yoshi Moshi
  6. Yeah, totally weird. I passed emissions today. I started this morning with the engine light on and no trac on at the bottom. Then, when the engine light went off as I drove, the no trac stayed on the bottom). I pressed the trac button and the no trac light on the bottom went away (traction working), but I turned traction back off to see if it would randomly engage trac on without pressing the button. After work, I drove and the same thing, no trac at the bottom and engine light on. Later, as I drove, the no trac on the bottom and engine light went away (traction now engaged without button influence). So strange. I went to the emissions. I started the car back for them and ZERO lights were on. WTF? It passed. I returned to my car after they were done testing and noticed zero lights were on. Then I left, and now only the trac light was on (this one being different, it was next to where the engine light was before). What the hell? Later, I'm back to engine + no traction at the bottom light appears when i start the car. when the car is on - on, i can turn traction control on or off, but not when i start the engine, or until i drive for a while when the lights go away and traction control button works. so, same story, doesn't affect performance, but it's so weird. i'm going to do the codes sometime. also, the rear lights are on, but all the lights work. that's it, and I LOVE MY CAR! (was driving a 86 mercury lynx 3speed POS).
  7. Hello. I'm a new Lexus owner of an 1992 LS400. I took this car to get passed, but the traction control came on while being tested (dangerous). Sometimes, when I press the traction control, it doesn't respond at all. Always responds when the car is ON, but not while the engine is on. I believe the traction comes on while driving it at some point. The engine light and rear lights also appear to be on. The seller told me they were on when he bought the car (years ago) and he never had a problem. Also, the seat heaters don't work. The seat lights appear on - on both switches, and all the fuses checked out were good. What could cause the traction to go on by itself? I want to get it emission passed, but not risk the tester and my car's life (the traction goes on again and possibly, the car goes flying out of the emissions testing garage). Thank you for your time, Mike
