  1. I've never done this. Isn't it very tedious work that takes hours? Could a novice like me do this without too much hassle?
  2. My results from the other night's car wash were so-so. <_< Zymol did seem to work pretty well and give a decent shine. The windows frustrated me the most - but I've gotten some good recs here since then so I know what to do next time. I must say I felt much better about washing my own car than taking it somewhere to have it done. I know I won't wash the car myself every single time, but when I did I just felt like I was "getting to know" my car better...the lines, the curves...minor imperfections here and there but it's all good B)
  3. Can the lint-free towels be found at the auto supply store?
  4. Very nice :) Thank you for sharing Bub = :D
  5. Thanks for the info Chillaxin - I'm in the SGV - a drive to the OC wouldn't bee too bad... :)
  6. Chill...I can't believe you hit your own car!! I hope the dent will be easy to fix.... :)
  7. Cool :) So...just the towels, nothing else (Windex...other?)
  8. *Yes* I did a search, but nothing came back :( Got some Meguiar's glass wipes tonight - not impressed. I cannot STAND window streaks! <_< Help!
  9. I think I can help you get this stuff (the escaine pink solution) - just send me a message :)
  10. Questions: 1. You wash your car with *Dawn* :o ?!! Please enlighten me. 2. I don't understand what claying is. And how do you do that? 3. Towels from Hawaii? Please share. :D
  11. Chillaxin I'm also in So Cal - can you recommend a trustworthy tint shop? :)
  12. My brain is not making the connection in regards to previous replies to my first post from all of you, which I appreciate. But - I'm still in the dark (pun intended) on exactly which bulbs to get. Someone please confirm for me? :) I want the *bright whites with the BLUISH tint" for my 98 ES. I need the manufacturer, exact code # etc. Sorry for being such a dumba$$ ;)
  13. Yep, I want the lock/unlock option to be re-programmed on my 98 as well ... :)
  14. The parking garage at my jobsite has quite a "smooth" ground. I notice when I turn corners (going no more than 5mph) the tires squeak. Like they're "waxy" or something. That's the only way I can think of to describe it the sound. What could be the cause + more importantly a possible solution - or is it nothing to be concerned over? Thanks :)
  15. I essentially had the same post a few weeks ago, and I'm sorry but I'm still lost. I've had my 98 ES for about 3 weeks. I don't know what kind of oil is in it now nor do I know what the previous owner used. Checked the dipstick - came back clean and indicated level was where it should be. The thing is I want to start using synthetic oil. I don't know which one to use. I don't know if I can just switch to this when I have the oil changed or if some kind of process needs to take place first. I don't know if I'll do damage or something. I want to start using Mobil 1 - this is synthetic, right? Sorry to sound so ignorant but I'm trying to learn and I just (for now) don't understand terms like: SAE, viscosity, sockets & gaskets. :( Help me guys!
  16. Alright .... I'm going to go to the car wash bay in a bit. I'll be damned if I use that brush, but I'm going to rinse it, soap it and then use the wax rinse. Then I'm going to let it air dry for a bit. Then I'm going to spray it with Zymol (the real stuff) and then dry it with cloth baby diapers....all of these steps based on you guys' recommendations and ideas... Do y'all think I'll have good results?! :)
  17. Great ideas - I hardly know which to try first. SK - I really dig your ideas :)
  18. I can't seem to find it here in So Cal... I've checked Target, Pep Boys, Sav-On... Help! :(
  19. LOL @ ProZac "bling bling" Yeah, definitely hard to keep the ride clean in L.A. That freak rainstorm last week really irked me - I had just washed my baby 2 days prior - grrr!!! For those who take their cars to a carwash, are you guilty of watching it through the glass windows through every phase like me and beaming with pride? sniff...sniff..."I'm so proud...." LOL
  20. Thanks a million SW03ES - I'm definitely going to check out that stuff :)
