  1. My front left wheel on my '97 has been giving me fits lately. It sounds as though my wheel is wobbling when I go over minor bumps. I do not notice them at higher speeds. I have checked the lugs, the calipers and the rotor and they are all tight. I am down to thinking it must be the suspension some where. The lower control arms don't seem to be loose. Can it be a bad Strut? If so, is there a preferred Strut on the market. Pep Boys has a few for around $100-120 and they will install for $50 each. Any comments would be appreciated.
  2. On my radio on my 97 there are station preset buttons that are lighted. On the "1 2" button my lights are not working but all others are fine. How can I fix this little annoyance bearing in mind that I would not want to spend a king's ransom to straighten it out? (No dealer fix!!) Kevin
  3. It seems that my Alarm is not set to arm itself. My insurance gives me a discount if I have a "Passive Arm" alarm. I think that means it has to arm whether I press the lock button or not? Does anyone know if this can be set to passive arm? Also, if it can be done, how much delay time is there from close the doors to passive arm and are there ways to adjust the time allowed? Thansk, Kevin
  4. Your lights look great. Does anyone know about the "HID" lights like the ones on E-bay with prices ranging from uneder $10 to $50 or so. I am not promoting any seller but if you search "HID" and ES300 you will find a ton of them. All seems too good to be true but in looking at the history of feedback, someone seems happy with them. I would like to hear from someone who has some experience on this wither having tried them or knowing someone who did. Everyone would like a little better lighting.
  5. I hear that the '03s are stickered in the high 40s and the 97 was in the low to mid 30s. I guess you gotta get something for an extra $15 large. Kevin
  6. Reading these posts, you guys made me feel great. A month ago, I bought a 97 with a few more miles, 94k but with all service performed at the dealership. Interior is great. Back seats don't look ever used. Clean as a whistle except for a few rock nicks on the hood and in the windshield. Total price was $8,750 plus TTL.
  7. Footbrake not a problem but would prefer hand release rather than foot release. Wish the doors would lock themselves as I engage the transmission and unlock when I turn off engine. :magic: Wish the memory seating would also adjust mirrors. No other complaints on my '97. Kevin
  8. So is there an expert out there who has a shop manual that can tell me for sure if it can be done or how to do it? I have programmed a new remote that required a series of locking and unlocking the door and had hoped there would be a similar way to program the auto lock. Thanks, Kevin
  9. I just bought my 97 ES300. Is there a way to program the door locks to lock automatically at startup, x miles per hour or gear engagement etc? OF course I would want it to unlock when the engine is turned off. I have had this feature on all other alarmed cars but it may have been a function of the alarm engagement. Can the factory alarm be set to do something similar? Thanks, Kevin
