  1. Hm. It's pretty convenient for me to wash my car at home. I "could" fill up one of my buckets with better water and use that...but then I would fall into the Extreme Category ;) I'm surprised that there are people who actually do this. Then again, I believe it. So do you think they used Purified water or Distilled water or Spring water? Just asking of course. I'm really not going to do this ;) I've already noticed a big savings too, from washing the car myself. I only need to go to the bay to use the vacuum hose. 50 cents :)
  2. Does anyone think or know if it could have a damaging effect on the car's paint? Just wondering. In some areas of L.A. we even have "re-claimed" hard water. As anal as I am about my car, I don't think I'll be out there anytime soon with my bucket and *bottled* water ;) Unless of course, it gives an unbeatable shine!
  3. ...on driver's side isn't "springing" back into place after releasing the lock on the buckle. I have to kind of feed it back into place. How to fix?
  4. Wow. Talk about simple thievery. <_< Thank you for this post. I'm doing this today.
  5. Thenewanomaly - Dude, thank goodness it isn't the fuel door opener!
  6. Well, I don't know what "type" of water spots...just noticed them on the trunk and on the hood. I didn't clay. The Clay intimidates me and I'm afraid to try it on my own. It sounds complicated... :(
  7. Me too! Not sure why I used to think it was too much of an ordeal to do it myself - after all it's just the hood, trunk, top and doors! :) I did notice some water spots that won't come off - any tips? (I'll do a search in the meantime)...
  8. I washed my car this morning at the crack of dawn: I love-love-love my lamb's wool wash mitt - sooo soft! Used a chamois pad to dry and was very impressed. Used long strokes to dry and ZERO lint left behind! Yeah! I used my garden hose for the "sheet" method of rinsing and I can definitely understand the concept. Products used: Eagle One. (got a mini-detailing kit to try the stuff out - not bad). Thanks everyone for all the advice and tips - my car looks great. I can't believe I ever trusted someone else to wash my beloved car...
  9. <_< Yes, mine are slow and it's annoying. I want them to zoom up - LOL By the time I let go of my 92 ES, NONE of the windows worked. None of them. Imagine that kind of fun in So Cal I've also noticed that my windows do not roll up in unison. Yes, I notice things like that ;)
  10. This happened in my 92 ES... Basically the inside door panel was taken off and the lock moved back up and secured into place. I can't comment on doing this yourself as I had taken my car someplace to have it done, but it didn't seem like too big a deal :)
  11. What is the proper way to use touch-up paint?
  12. Just wondering if anyone has used this on their car's interior, especially those with the Coach Edition ES 300's... I'm wondering if Coach recommended their leather products for maintenance?
  13. Nope! :D No, I have a separate "thing" to lock/unlock the doors + trunk. That's fine - it's the actual key that's all weird: The gold ( wish it were chrome) "L" is chipping and that same gold stuff is coming through the black portion of the key. It looks all spotty. I know. I bought one. And it DOESN'T FIT! <_< :(
  14. What is the difference between Summer and Winter tires? I'm in So Cal - I kind of doubt I'd need Winter tires but I'd still like to understand the difference... :)
  15. Need to wash the car before tomorrow morning. Unable to leave home until then - is there anything else I can use?
  16. The "L" is chipping off and the black portion is all funky too. <_< What can I do?
  17. Your car is just sooo beautiful. I'm going to go throw myself on my bed now and cry!! :P
