  1. yea you can bend the clips so that they clam harder on to the muffler
  2. if the above fails maybe it could be your motor, and trans mounts. at about 100k is when mine started to vibrate. as for the wheel vibration you may want to look in to that ball joint
  3. i got my rotors from napa once for like 50 bucks a pop, but thats only because the dealer only had one in stock and i needed it changed that day. i had no problems no noise, but the only thing i didnt like was that there wasnt a spot for the rotor retaining screw. otherwise its good.
  4. try get a tester and trace the wire and see which side its shorting out. its most likely that the wire just rubbed away and is exposed on a part of the body. also are there any coins in your cigarett lighter? just a thought.
  5. the buzzing could be your exhaust tips or as one of your previous mechanics said a heat shield. but only if the buzz is coming from your exhaust.
  6. i dunno about the 2j but the 1j comes metal head gasket from the factory
  7. no not for the 400. the job is a pain in the butt! the starter motor is under the intake manifold between the "V" on the block. its not too hard a job, but time consuming. its about a $1200-1400 job at the dealer. starters can be rebuilt or bought new almost anywhere.
  8. 2 grand for fixing the head gasket? that seems super high! you might want to go get other quotes.
  9. starter is going bad
  10. ouch! another tough one! its possible but i doubt it will. if you need one you should just have it made. its cheap (like $300)
  11. check your steering rack bushings
  12. if it does blow up the belt will render your car immobile. its good to change it at the first signs of wear. as for brand if you can buy 2 napa belts for 1 toyota belt then go with the napa. but i still would buy it from the dealer...thats just me though
  13. it might be your o2 sensor. try and pull the code
  14. the brake pad "keeper shims" may be worn or the backing of your pad. or both. the remedy would be to buy new pads and or shims.
  15. engine temp sensor to the ecu may be faulty... but this may be a simple thing to check. you just need to measure resistance
  16. try take the pannel off of the trunk towards the front of the car. you will be able to see the gas tank. look for any visual leaks. if all else fails get a lighter and have the lighter sniff around lol!j/k
  17. the body kit on the white car is a Vertex kit. the other stuff on ebay is a knock off and it doenst fit well. you will end up paying more at the body shop
  18. i suggest having them look at the idle air control valve and or the !Removed! airflow sensor.
  19. yea its almost standard proceedure with these cars to take out the radiator when doing any work up front
  20. thats the best. i always like to keep my factory stuff cuz its just better than the junk you get at pepboys
  21. oh yea i think i remember doing that. just do it its not that hard or time consuming
  22. look at the tutorial section on the ps pump u can rebuild it its not that hard if you have a few speciality tools like a slide hammer. as for the alternator have it rebuilt.
