  1. try push the solenoid. may be the prob. thats all i can think of that could cause the problem. the PS isnt that sophisticated compared to other toyotas
  2. its on the radiator towards the bottom where the drain valve is. the resistance should read 1.48-1.58 ohms at 80 degrees C
  3. premium runs $2.69-89 a gal. the emmisions part is good but the mileage is supposed to be reduced because ethonal has roughly 50% less energy so you need to burn a little more fuel to get the same power. but i havent noticed a difference...
  4. thats about right but you will like the results!
  5. i havent had torque converter issues but i had my tranny on my LS rebuilt because it wouldnt go in to gear anymore. total cost was something like $23-2400 with a new converter (it may have been a rebuild)
  6. have you taken a good look at the crank pully? that thing is huge!!! i wouldnt take that thing up becasue it must soak up alot of vibration!!!. change the fly or just add boost :P
  7. i dont know about other islands but oahu only uses e-10 as of maybe a year ago? or was like spring anyway its been a while. and supposedly it reduces emmisions.
  8. nice! here in hawaii. its all E-10. just another way for gas companies to make more money!!!
  9. really? E- 10 is a blend of regular gasoline with 10% ethanol content. oh and by the way you dont have to write so big we can all see :P
  10. what does it display? or what does it look like or say?
  11. if the paint has cracks in it then your warranty should cover agianst paint defects that are not related to damage from the "elements"
  12. The ES, no question. I drove the X Type extensively before I got mine and its a rattletrap of a car, small, uncomfortable, cheap materials. the X-type is just a ford taurus with a different grill and leather :P on another note the RL has SH-AWD which can not be found on another car (i think...) besides the RDX. you cant spin that car out! its cool! but not at the same time because its no fun!
  13. i agree 2 completely different class of cars. thats like comparing the XJ8 to a X-type. which its the obvious winner here? considering that the ES and the x-type are in the same class and or price range which is the better car? you would need to compare the XJ to the LS like SW03S says.
  14. even if the bushing isnt cracked the rubber does get hard and sometimes shrinks. that all makes for a bad ride.
  15. also if your tires are old and hard they will transmit alot more noise then if you had brand new sticky tires!
  16. i dont have any experience with installing the edfc but when you do the front suspension your going to have to remove or push the windshield washer tank so the upper arm bolts can come off. height is adjustable 2 ways. you can either lower the car by spring rate which means rotating the perch with the spring on it which also means you would need to adjust the dampening that would match that spring rate. or the way i recomend after you adjust the spring rate to your liking you can rotate the threadded sleeve or shock body while the shock is attatched to the arm. you can rotate the shock body by simply loosening the lock perch and rotating the locked spring perch (the one with the 2 perches acting as a lock kind of like how you rotate a threaded stud by using 2 nuts jammed together) also this way you wont have to adjust dampening if you change height in the future.. i hope you understand what im writing im kinda confusing my self but i hope this helps. and you will love the CS's!! they are ultra comfortable compared to say the flex's. oh and dont forget to measure everything before you put it on to make sure the shock lengths are the same.
  17. if you change all of that then your car will feel new! especially with the wheel bearings! it rolls so much smoother!
  18. resistance between the 2 connector pins should be .4-.5 ohms and the resistance between the + pin on the connector side and the plug wire side shoud be 10-14k ohms. so you seem to be in spec! maybe you have a leaky injector that leaks a bit while the car is off and you jsut burn a little extra on start up before the cat is heated up...
  19. type 2 and type 4 are supposed to be compatible. i usually just do a trans oil change every 10k miles it only drains about 2 quarts. as with all fluids it doesnt hurt to change them on a regular basis!
