  1. Quattroporte is around 100k isn't it? Edit: Yup, about 85-105k on eBay.
  2. While jacking up my car for the first time yesterday, I realized that all of my tires were facing the correct way (looking at the tires from the front of the car the tread goes in down, I'll get a picture to show you what I mean). Except for the front left, which I also noticed that the direction arrow was pointing the wrong way. Does this do something to the tracing ability of my car? I'm about to replace all 4 tires, since the front 2 have about 2/32" tread left and there's a large chunk missing from my left rear; also a bulge 6 inches from the missing chunk. Right now I have 195/60 R15 88H Goodyear Aquatreads on it, and they are some crap. Any suggestions for 4 new tires? I'll be keeping the left rear Aquatread as the spare to replace the stock Dunlop spare. Price shouldn't be over $100 per tire if possible. Thanks. First picture is the front left tire, second picture is the front right tire (same direction as the rears), and third is the chunk missing from my tire, which my dad said would be fine (when we bought the car) until yesterday, when he was helping me with removing the rims.
  3. My ES used to do that also, but I rarely use A/C so I figured that's not the problem. The rubber hose that leads from the back of the AFM to the throttle body is where your sputtering and stalling problem starts. Make sure to tighten that circular clamp that holds the rubber tube to the throttle body, or you'll get a extremely rough idle that will eventually sputter out. Hence the vaccum leak. Hope you get your problem fixed, and if you're looking for parts to start modding your ES, look into an EXS filter on eBay; they don't really add much power (or any at all as some might say), but they sound really cool. Lol.
  4. Read the site and you'll find out. ;)
  5. All I could do to remedy that was to remove the DRL fuse in the engine bay. My mom wasn't happy that I was taking fuses out of my car, but then again, I'm the one who drives it. Lol.
  6. (On the 4Runner) What I meant to say is whenever I turn the signals on, the clock and gear selector lights dim in unison with the blinker; so when the arrow lights up on the dashboard, the clock and gear lights dim, then brighten when the arrow flashes off, until I turn off the signal. When I hit the brakes the headlights dim. Alternator checked out O.K. at an independent service shop. And like I said, new Interstate battery installed less than 1 year ago. ------------------------------- On my '91, when I put up the windows, the gear selector light dims too, and more disturbing is that the RPM's drop. I'm guessing that's a problem with the alternator? Or something along those lines.
  7. This probably isn't the right page, but it's the right topic, so here goes. My 2002 4Runner does the same thing of lights dimming when I hit the brakes, also the gear selection lights and clock will sometimes flash when I put on the turn signals. New Interstate battery less than 1 year ago. Could it be the same trunk short problem? Or would it be different because of the different model?
  8. I'm pretty sure it's an H4 bulb.
  9. Probably came out with the addition of the parking aids, just a less sensitive sensor used while the car is moving, and instead of turning on a warning buzzer, it applies the brakes? Would make sense.
  10. LOL!!! Mmm... I bet those bead seat covers are comfortable, especially without a decent pair of pants on. It's understandable why no one has ever sat in the back seat; no one in their right mind would want to.And who was the brains behind the idea to spray the car, not only distorting the crappiness of the paint, but making it evident that the tail lights leak? Figured I'd add a few comments to one of the pictures to possibly encourage the seller to put some actual thought into his marketing, next time he decides to sell another ES300, since he does get rid of "about 10 a month". Noob.
  11. LOL. I wish there were flat mud holes around my area; maybe the new development down the street...when it pours I could have some fun in the 3 inches of soft dirt that's there.
  12. Eh... How much would a light pressure turbo run me? Not anything that would add more than 75 horsepower? 2vz, although I know right there what my answer will be...lol.
  13. My school is "adopting" 400 kids from another Jesuit academy in New Orleans, and 1 gets to stay at my house until their school is back in order. He even gets to go to my school while he's here.

    Let See!

My old plate before I had to get it re-registered, $20 bucks is money I cannot spend on a vanity plate, that's crucial gas money. :cries: BUNKRD, since I paintball.
  15. ...And this has to do with the tragedy in LA and MI in what way? Today while in town (McLean) I saw a kid get out of a Jeep at a red light and rip a sign off a lightpole that said "Iraq and New Orleans Handled Wrong". It was pretty intresting to see.
  16. :whistles: My dad told me that it wasn't a moving violation; isn't a moving violation something like speeding or running a red light or stop sign? That's breaking multiple laws, I just "broke" one... Here is the list of 3-point offences in VA, and how long they stay on your record. If you think about it, it's rediculous. VA DMV 3-Point Infringements Driver's improvement course I'm taking
  17. You can just unplug the DRL fuse in the engine bay box. Did that with my '02 4Runner, also some other wiring so I can drive with just my fogs on. B)
  18. Lol... Well today, I come home to find out that I get to attend driver's improvement classes! By volunteering (thanks to my mom) I get 5 "bonus" points on my liscense to use if I ever get another ticket. And I'm also going to court to argue my case, and hope to lessen my fine to just court costs, since it was my first ticket, and wasn't even a moving violation. Wish me luck, it'd be a great 1-day early birthday present. (Court date is October 6th) :whistles:
  19. Wanted to take quickest route to school since it's in the city. As soon as I make my way across the intersection and see H.O.V. staring me right in the face, and the cop walking in front of me motioning for me to pull to the side, yeah it hit me. :chairshot: It is my fault, but I don't see the severity of not having 2 people in your car. True, the H.O.V. lanes are meant to decrease the amount of cars on a certain part of highway and decrease the amount of gas used, but why penalize a driver who is "already hurting themselves" by not going with someone else/ saving gas? Just let me rant, I'm still only 16...
  20. <_< SCREW THE H.O.V. LANES Damn it all, $100 fine for being the only person in my car on the way to school. 1st offense, and do I get any leeway? NO. VA police SUCKS. Stay away from I-66. No points on my liscense or insurance raises though... :cries: <_<
  21. I guess it took the car a couple of starts to get it figured out. Doesn't struggle when cold anymore.
