  1. Well, brought it in today, the car was done by about 6:30 so it took +/- 8 hours to do the job, and turn the front left tire in the correct direction. Now all they have to do is get the paperwork sorted out and wash it (hopefully after the big ice storm and snow storm we're getting over the next day or so). They gave my mom a 2005 Xterra with 190 miles on it, took it out for a spin and it's really powerful...just don't tell anyone, since I'm not insured for it.
  2. Check the hoses that connect to the throttle body and the air box; I had similar problems and I tightened the clamp to fix it. On a side note, my ES250 will be going in to Lindsay for a $750 transmission and dogbone mount replacement tomorrow. If you happen to see the crappiest Lexus on the lot, let me know...lol. <_< Good luck, as I hope I'm getting what I pay for, as well as you.
  3. Ron is there something wrong with your screen? It looks like it's off center completely or it sticking out from behind the trim of the radio. Thinking of changing to a similar radio for my 4Runner, since the big XM2Go one I have is getting annoying and is hard to mount.
  4. Blue06GS in the GS forums posted up a video on how to enable those features. I don't have a car with navigation but it seemed to work on his video, it just had to be redone every time the car was shut off. Video
  5. Wow, passed by that place on my way to Dave and Buster's today. Thanks I'll look them up, maybe they can work on my 4Runner too.
  6. Where did you get this work done at? I need to repair some left front damage. If they hear they got a good report and it's being advertised, maybe I'd get a discount? (crosses fingers)
  7. "We're sorry, but we don't currently offer online manuals for models prior to 1996." Sorry guys, no go on the manual for either I guess. Just the maintince schedule. :cries:
  8. I think they were only sold as 1990 and 1991 models, but the 1990's might have began production in 1989. If Army or anyone had a '90, maybe he could check his VIN sticker; I have a '91 and mine was produced in 1990.
  9. Same here, I just registered my ES250 on the site.
  10. Thanks, once exams are over I'll be sure to take you up on that. :)
  11. So would I need to swap in the UIA from a 92-94 3vz to be able to do this? And a MAF instead of a AFM? This sounds pricey. I have no idea how I would get an independent mechanic to do this for me, except for maybe the people who visit this site. Would anyone around my aread actually be willing to do this? Also Army, do you think you could hit me up with where you get all the info on the 250? Or is it all just from experience and dealing with it. I'd love to find if there was a book that would tell me all about my car. Or maybe you're just a living one.
  12. Here's the best one I have right now; i'll get some closer ones in a little bit. For the sway bars, which aftermarket brand do you suggest? Toys, I'm still working on that turbo option- found a mechanic who said he'd try to help me out and said he'd be damn amazed if he could get one to work on my 2ve.
  13. Well since my parents have decided on replacing the mounts (definately buying them, found a good mechanic today who will be working on my car in the near future who might install them), I have decided to start putting serious money into my car. Replacing the mounts will already get rid of the crapload of slop I have in the transmission, and I'm going from there. Tires and wheels: I've picked out a set of nice Finn Racing wheels, less than $80 a piece, and either the Falken tires or the Toyo TRT Proxies also about $80 a pop. That's where I stop and ask for suggestions. I'm looking for upgrades to the suspension (just lowering), an exhaust system, and new brake components. Also open to any other input too. Just try to keep the $$$ to a minimum, not much of a budget here, and unfortunately doing most work myself or fabrication is out of the equation. Thanks!
  14. Thanks, any tutorials on how to change them out? 2VZ-FE. Shot at 132,500 miles, not bad for length of originals?
  15. Well I just went in for the inspection due on my car, and after about 4 hours of waiting around enjoying the free hot chocolate, Coke, computers and doughnuts I was informed that my car had failed the inspection. Reason? Completely busted dogbone mount and engine and tranmission mounts. Cost to repair? 750 bucks. <_< Wondering if it would be cheaper to go independent or stay at the dealer for the repair. I would rather get rid of the car, but my mom recently got into another accident so she needs my 4Runner. <_<
  16. Mr. Roboto... Lol. Junior in high school, work at either my country club or help my mom file real estate stuff at home.
  17. Awesome, congrats to your bro. My Spanish teacher went there, but she turned out pretty cooky lol. But with early graduation, it doesn't seem like your brother will have any problems.
  18. Oh yeah almost forgot, Lindsay Lexus of Alexandria has a body shop if you don't mind the drive from GBurg. B) Lindsay Lexus Click "Contact Us", and there is a list of #'s, body shop is at the bottom.
  19. Sorry to hear about that. I know that the dealer does a pretty good job with colormatching the paint. A while back when I took my 4Runner into Alexandria Toyota they backed my car over another in the service bay, completely tearing off the right rear fender flare and causing damage to the lower part of the back bumper, as well as the bottom part of the right rear quarter panel. The match was almost identical, but the new parts seemed slightly lighter than the original paint. This was because I usually parked it outside when we only had a 2-car garage, and the sun took its usual effect on the paint. Since then, I've moved and the ES is the only car to sit outside now. This is from the dealer. But just last week my mom took my car out to get gas for me (the 4Runner) and crushed the bumper at the gas station in the exact same place as before. Wow, my new cell camera sucks. <_<
  20. On both my 4Runner and my dad's 2003 Land Cruiser, I found that pulling the DRL fuse in the engine bay disabled my DRL's, without any extra lights showing on the dashboard indicating a problem.
  21. I don't even own a LS, but it was fun to read anyways. Better than writing a response paper, I'll tell ya that...lol.
  22. My friend who just put a $1500 tire and wheel combo onto his Audi S4 is selling his stock rims with tires (which are shot, good only for track racing, maybe...) for $50 a piece. They're 5 lugs, but I'm guessing that there will be and offset issue and/or clearance issue. Does anyone know the specs of the S4 rims?
  23. After scrolling though posts of "dependebility/reliability" jousts, I've just decided to wait until after my safety inspection Friday so really see if getting a new battery is worth it. But thanks to those who actually had some input towards my original question.
