The larger tires (17" over 16") would result in 4 more inches of resistance on the pavement. Of course one would result in improved traction (with all being =), but I suspect a slight decrease in MPG and potential pick up exists. Sometime my mind is all over the place, but I am still tying to figure out what variables = my LS's best MPG. So hope you dont mind my jumping around. On top of that I am about to buy some 16" BLIZZZAKKKSS for the winter.. Should be an adventure with the old LS rims.. A change of pace I suppose. Cheers to my 17's and the LS..

What is the price? I ask this since you can find 95-98s with 100k miles for a fair price. No matter what the price is 80k miles is 80k miles. Of course highway is different then all around, but if you have 180k then you drove it all around more then the car with 100k. Cheers.. Dont rush to buy, since there are plenty.

Does the 17" tire slow down the LEXUS? I suspect more ground friction may result in decrease in pickup? Just throwing this out there....

$3000 dollars new speakers, deck, amp and it sounds awesome! From what I understand you have to change the whole system... Although I dont have a 04 so I dont know what it sounds like? Cheers to LEXUS

Hello after 5000 amazing miles I have my first concern.. When I hit a bump it seems as if the shocks make a noise? I am not sure if this happens since I dont drive the car for a month at a time? Or if this is just a bad strut after 100k? It really sounds like a strut in the front when I hit an uphill speed bump/hill? The car makes a noise. but I am not sure what it is. Cheers to LEXUS

Personally I hate the black wheels on most cars. I think black tires (not white walls) with crome or silver finish looks awesome! If you want to see go to tirerack.com and put black wheels on the LS400. Its a kewl tool to use. Secondly does anyone know where to buy a back window screen. You know the dark that rolls up and down. I seen one in a new LS and it looked nice. Since I have the tint 30 (rear) 15 (front) it would block more sun during the day. Good luck with your LS

I would go back to the dealership and state how disapointed you were with your experience. Lexus is proud of their service and an experience like that could result in the loss of 100 customers. I say this since you have posted and we all review. Cheers to LS.

So you just follow the directions to apply the Rainx? I have a ton of that stuff in my garage and for sure I am going to use it. What is the OEM? How much are the OEM's from LEXUS? Cheers to the LS... Thanks for the information I have used the RAINX in the past and its a great product.

So you can use the wipers with rainx? I heard it pollutes the blades and kills them.. I know I could look at Google to find the answer but I ask you. Time for bed to dream of the LS... I mean my wife!

Wellllllllll... The car has won JD powers long term durability award for 15 years. It is the flagship of LEXUS. The LS is comfortable, smooth, fast and awesome! I have a 93 and I love every second! Cheers to your new LEXUS.. Do you have a picture? What color?

Damn you have a new car. My wifes brother spent about 10k on a 2001 Rover (Jag).. Sounded like a deal, but then he realized the car had 200+k on the engine.. Eastern Europe then flip the miles so he did not pay attention.. Funny mileage story, but good thing he has the money. :)

Hey mods.. Someone stated in the past that the aftermarket lights dont last. Do you have any long term experiences with them? For sure get those damn shifters on your site... How tall are they?

From what I understand its 4x40 = 160 watts. Most decks for 100 bucks now produce 4 x 50 = 200 watts.. This system is 12+ years old and paying anything over 50 bucks for a speaker is a complete rip off. You can buy two brand new Infinity 2 ways for less then $150. These systems do last a long time and I give LEXUS props.. I suppose not having the amp in the deck reduces heat and helps with the life, but the cost of a speaker or anything else is pathetic. A new 10+ disk CD player is like $150 bucks, new decks with MP3 capiblity is like $175, 4 - 5.5" speakers is about $300 and then installation would be about $250+. This would be a system that would destroy the 13 year old Nakamichi system. Recently I took apart the door and compared the quality of the speaker to other 3-5 year old speakers. Everything for the most part was better then the one way speaker. I dont see how your speakers were failing? Typically the speaker would pop or sound like crap, but I dont think they just go dead. Usually that is a channel in the amp or deck. I would look at the bill and figure out why different prices and what was done?

Screw that.. I would replace the whole system. You can get better speakers, deck and everything for less then 1500 bucks. In reality decks now have 50 watts per channel. Our systems only have 40 watts from the amp. As for the speakers they are okay at best. I just took them out and they are one way 4" speakers. Overall the system sounds okay when it works, but if mine goes bad I will trash! You paid $400 dollar for one speaker? Holy shi... that is bs! Cheers to LEXUS
