First off, welcome to the club! B) Lexus is also very well known for one other very important thing.......reliability! Which is something to keep in mind whether your purchasing new or used. I think the baby seats will fit in almost any Lexus model......except the SC (2 door). Common problems? Do a search in the specific model forums depending on which Lexus you are considering. Avoid buying a used Lexus without any service or maintenance history. It's hard to answer your #30k question......you haven't told us which year & model you are considering. B) A simple answer to your topic - Yes ;) After all you are asking lexus owners B)

Sounds like we might have lost our temper. Best place will be by putting in a order at your local junk yard and it will NOT be cheap but would cost less than the dealer. Crutchfield? NOT! Hey, I couldn't say that any better myself, Wait a minute I already said that.

1st Generation Acceleration. Very Interesting.
dcfish replied to CanadaCraig's topic in 90 - 00 Lexus LS400
Hi dcfish!! :) I hope you're OK. Boy am I glad I didn't have to scan all of those pages [being the lazy so-and-so I am] so a big THANK YOU to blake918 for the link!! :D As for my NSX - it really is a nice car. I've owned it for well over 10.5 years now. [bought it used from a Vancouver Acura dealer on June 30th, 1995] It now has over 145,000 km's. [just under 90,000 miles] Just this past month though - I've been having a big problem with a windshield molding. I had my windshield replaced because of a rock chip. [the chip has been there for years - but I decided that since the NSX is no longer being built - maybe I should replace the glass - while I still can] Well anyways - the guy who installed the windshield installed the upper molding wrong. [backwards - I think] HE was absolutely sure that HE did it right. "There is no other way TO install it", he said. What a pain. I'm so tired of arrogance. Here he is - a guy who has never SEEN an NSX up close [so he tells me] and he's arguing WITH me about whether or not the molding he installed is as it should be. So I ended up fretting about that along with my Lexus. At first they said it was an updated molding and they no longer make one for my year. So I FIRST tried to find an 'original' molding'. But as it turns out - the molding itself is exactly the same. [size and shape wise] It was changed only in what it was made of - to keep it from shrinking over time. That huge hurdle dealt with - I THEN had to find proof that they installed the molding wrong. I finally found what I was looking for and emailed them a copy. Their response? "You will have to book another appointment." And that was it. No, "we are sorry for the trouble" or anything like that. What I need to buy is a big barn so I can drag a few people behind it and kick their !Removed!!! lol :P Oh well... I've got an appointment this Wednesday to give them yet another chance to install the molding. It's been over a month dealing with this. Anyone with half a brain could tell the molding wasn't installed correctly. Not only does it look like I installed it - but it makes a tremendous wind noise about 40 mph. Sheesh. Have you ever seen my little 'NSX VIDEOS'? If not - they can be found on my cardomain page. It is my belief that both the NSX and the LS400 did more to change the automotive world than any other two cars in the past several decades. [at least insofar as sports cars and luxury cars are concerned] It is why they have always been my dream cars. I consider myself lucky to own both of them. [and that's said with the firm belief that my LS400 will - someday - perform as it was designed to do so] Take care of yourself, Craig!! :) Canada, I am not quite sure what you mean by " are you ok " PM me Sorry to hear about the windshield issue, I for one can't stand ignorance when it comes to mechanics but sh$t happens all too often. -
Sad Our day will also come ;)

You would have to be an electrical engineer @ Denso to properly install a dvd player that is integrated into the nav. Anything short of that would be considered a "Hack job".

"On a few occasions I have been asked by engine companies to test an engine to the point of destruction. What happens if it's run at full speed right out of the box," I asked the question in another thread "How long would a l6 run if tested like this " And never received a comprehensive answer, But that's ok. fuggetaboutit. Fun read, I like the writing style over the topic itself. MHO

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10-x-White-LEDs-Ultr...oQQcmdZViewItem So when you replaced the bulbs how did you put them in to have the correct polarity ? The copper contact on the new led's go where ? Can you answer the neg/pos positioning of the led's ?

Get rid of it. Even if by some miracle you can obtain the parts (I doubt if GS parts will work) and get them shipped to Poland, that car will never be right again. You're looking at major structural damage. Part it out and look for another one.

There has been some folks that don't like the looks of the new avalon, But it is a hell of alot of car for the $$$ and has good hp and all the bells and whistles. Besides you'll have some $$ leftover for that second carseat. It is also big enough for a family of 4 and a car seat. Let us know what your final decision is. Happy Hunting.

Sad story, I would contact lexus corporate/customer service and let the sh$t slide downhill. Follow up on this every couple of days and document progress. Sounds like you got stuck with a real rookie salesperson. Don't let the human factor disuade you, A lex is worth the wait just not the hassle which is very unfortunate. Good Luck.

There is a gs owners manual stickied on top of the gs forums. It is for a 98 but no difference. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=25931

Yea but don't almost all 2nd gen GS3's come with the same horsepower from factory? So I want to know if anybody installed the SRT intake and if they actually had the results SRT claims. I mentioned before and after because then you would know exactly where your car is at. ;)

Like I said before, I don't want anything too loud but I also want something that makes pretty good horsepower. I just wanted to see what other people have used and how satisfied they are with gains vs. noise. Some exhausts don't tell you at least an estimate of the power you should gain. If I can gain like 15-20hp over stock that would be good. Seriously, If your looking for those gains you will probably need headers and custom pipes all the way back and you will have to lose the cat, Not to mention a change in the intake dept. Claims of hp gains are 99% exagerated in the exhaust aftermarket world. Yea, I was also thinking about doing an intake upgrade. I wasn't sure if I should go with the SRT intake with ECU upgrade or something else. They claim a gain of 22hp and 24lb/tq. But how accurate is that? Acurate ? The only way is to dyno before and after.
