  1. I am currently experiencing the brewing sound only while the heater/ac is on. It seems as if it's coming from the front passenger vent. I checked my coolant level and it sure was low. Filled it up and the brewing sound vanished.......THEN it reappeared. Verified coolant level, it was full. Noise is causing me heartburn. Read the link provided above and most feel its air bubbles within the head core. One guy suspects it’s a head gasket leak. Another person had the dealer purge the air out of his radiator. Any recommendations as to what I need to do? Dont want to risk any damage to my heater, especially in the bitter cold.
  2. I'd find a trusted independant mechanic/dealer. Don't worry too much about the 10k service. I typically take my car in for the main service intervals of 30k, 60k, 90k. I find it ridiculous that they are charging you $225 for the aformentioned items. You can save much more $$$ elsewhere but definitely have the items take care of, not for $225.
  3. GS430. Since u'll spend ~$20k less than the CLS, use the saved $$$ on some of the finest car mods...Your Lex will look much finer than the CLS and you won't have to burden yourself w/ 2005 German engineering...
  4. Recommend you also replace the Water pump ($200). Have you run a carfax and have you had a trusted mechnic take a close look at the car?

  6. "Without considering price." Many people make decisions according to what fits into their budget but since this isn't a main concern for you, I would personally take each car for a test drive and keep each car for almost an entire day. Ride all over town and have others ride along. After rigorously test driving both cars you should have enough insight to make a decision on your own. I'd definitely get the GS430 b/c I enjoy Lexus quality, service and saving money. :D Take a look at this link: http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/mercedesbe....Mercedes-Benz* LOOK CLOSELY AT THIS POST: "I have had my CLS500 w/ AMG sport package, keyless go, satellite radio etc. for going on 8 months and it has been in the shop numerous times already. On average, once every 2 weeks and one time for more than a week." Just something to think about....
  7. I believe Lexus recommends replacement of TB and WP at 90k. I wouldn't wait to long b/c if the belt breaks, your car will not function and you may cause further damage if it breaks while in use. You could have someone take a look at the belts condition but again I would have it replaced within the next 5k miles.
  8. If you have the time and patience, I would suggest you post it in your local paper for a reasonable price. From my experience, these cars sell very quickly, especially if it's in good/great condition. You will save yourself a couple thousand $$.
  9. Congrad's. Great choice in car and color but I would be a little reluctant to have the dealer wash my car. Find a skilled and trusted detailer. Have fun in the new ride.
  10. Goin to pick me up a set of Faulkens 512's in a size 205/65/15 H Speedv rating for my 98 ES300 this wkend. Manufacture recommends V rated tires but I assume this is an extremely high rating for an ES platform??? I'll post some feeback later this yr.
  11. More luxury, reliability, market value and lower maintanence costs w/ Lexus. Haven't driven the new 3 series but I have heard good speed and handling reviews; typical with any BMW, however, the 2006 models in general have lacked build quality...take a look at this thread: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=25547
  12. Paid around $600 for Timing Belt and Water pump service from Lexus Dealership. Definitely consider taking it to Toyota.
  13. "only received two, none wich seem to be the master since they don't have the lock button." No Master Key?? You will need a Master key to make additional copies of your keys. Without that 'bad boy' you will be required to replace the ECU unit like some of us have experienced. However, I am not sure if the 93' is designed differently??? Can anyone confirm this? If you discover that you dont have a master key then your NOT purely out of luck. Months ago I had the same issue and called Lexus Customer Satisfaction. Discovered that Lexus has an Immobilizer Replacement Program. They replace the ECU unit for free. All I was accountable for was the purchase of the new key (Non-Remote Master) and labor of installing the ECU ~ totaling $150. Not bad considering the ECU unit retails for over $1k. Key Note: * Your car does NOT have to be under warranty. * They will provide only one ECU replacement per vehicle. (They Ask for VIN) * You may take your car to any Lexus Dealer. If any of you are interested contact Lexus Corporate: 800 255 3987, Customer Satisfaction.
  14. Highly doubt if the ebay modules ($50-$100) will provide a 45+ Hp boost. The GS400 is a 300 HP beauty and I personally think it has plenty of power and speed. What exactly are you tryin to accomplish?
  15. Not my cup of tea but I guarantee the chicks dig it. Gotta admit, the LS is still a beauty, even when its wrapped in Gucci.
  16. I'd hate too see the ES go... :(
  17. If you get an opp. may you please post some pics. Thanks.
  18. Take a look at the following link: http://www.edmunds.com/used/1998/lexus/gs4...894/review.html Definitely look for a GS400 with HID, Nav and any other options you may be interested in. Many of the GS owners should be able to provide you with some additional insight.
  19. Opps. Sorry about that. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...hl=snowboarding

  21. I also work for a pharma, not sales though. Wouldn't recommend being a salesperson for a dealership especially as a recent college grad. You will gain much more business exposure and knowledge in the industry; providing many opportunites for you to grow both personally and professionally. I agree with SW, you will also make more $$$ in the industry which isn't heavily dependant on pure commission...personally gotta have the salary for security purposes, no matter how sharp you are. If selling cars sparks your interest, look into opening ur own business. Little optimistic but definitely feasible.
  22. Nothing better than a long test drive. May people enjoy the GS400, especially since its pushing 300hp.
