  1. I've been driving for 44 years and never had a flat tire. Yesterday I was driving home about 70ish and hit something with the front tire that threw it up and I ran over it with the back tire. Whatever it was made a horrible clanking sound. I don't see any damage on the body, but will look underneath it when it warms up some. Put about a 1/2 in diameter hole in my tire. Car handled great. I was pleased. I saw the tire light come on immediatly and let off the gas. I got in the right lane and coasted to the shoulder. She got a little squirlly on me, but nothing hard to handle. All said, AAA came and put on the spare and I got my tire fixed today for $17. I was really very lucky. No damage to my wheel at all. Once again, I'm so pleased with the quality of my Lexus. I don't know if a lesser car would have handled so well.
  2. Does your car have the stock wheels and tires?
  3. Finally watched my Fast and Furious 6 that hubby got me for Christmas. It made me so sad to see Paul. Gosh he loved cars.
  4. Shhhhhhh Paul. That there still is s'posed to be a secret. See if I send you another jar again.
  5. Big ole southern HOWDY! Welcome to the club. Sorry I can't help you with your issue.
  6. I start scoping out the perfect spot as soon as I pull into a parking lot. I park waaaaaay far away from the masses and make sure I'm uphill so no buggys can roll into me. I got one ding in my Infiniti and that happened up here at work...I started parking somewhere else. Other than that, I can't remember the last time I have had a door ding. Like I always say...my car does not play well with others. ;)
  7. I hate badging. Why don't you just leave it all off except the "L"? I used to take badging off and on my Camaro all the time. I just used a double sided tape. Go to Lowe's and ask someone to help you. I don't remember the brand, but it was like only 1/4 inch wide.
  8. America....Land of the free! Getting further and further from the truth. Dealerships (AKA stealerships) have ruined the car buying experience. It is time for a change. Why can't I get on the internet and order any kind of car I want and just go to the dealership and pick it up? And no....I don't want to be hounded for 30 minutes about a coating for my car or protection against door dings. Stop it already!!
  9. I'm at almost 11k miles now, and my gas mileage just keeps getting better! Now that I'm burning 93 octane instead of 89, I'm up to 25 mpg average on my display. I'm really pleased with that considering the stop and go driving I do. I also have a bit of a heavy foot at times. :whistles:
  10. Very nice. I hope you and your family enjoy many long years there.
  11. Congrats! Post a pic so we can all see the beauty. :)
  12. I have not tried it. Let us know if you get it and it works.
  13. We peons that still have to work would love to see some pics of your trip. I'm so jealous.
  14. Amen
  15. Oh yeah. He just bought his 3rd one. We put so many miles on them that we trade them every 2 or 3 years. We average about 50k a year on his trucks. It is funny....I have a white F-Sport with dark rims. Now he has a white FX2 Sport with dark rims. :)
  16. Oh yeah....83k on a Lexus is nothing. My daughter just bought an '08 Scion that was high mileage. I told her just to keep it maintained and she should expect another 100k out of it. My friend up here that I work with just got rid of a '99 4Runner with 335k miles. Never gave her trouble. Gotta love a Toyota!
  17. Thanks Lenore. :) I really need to become more label concience too. Most of the time I'm just in too much of a darned rush! American made products are out there. I was surprised when I went to a store here called Charming Charlie. I bought 2 sweaters and when I got to the counter to pay for them, I noticed that both of them were made in the US. I told the lady that I would shop there more often!
  18. Nice! I hope you enjoy. Love the brick.
  19. I think we, as consumers, have got to make a stand for our country. I guess that makes me a hypocrite since the last 4 vehicles I have purchased were built in Japan. What can I say? Cars are a big investment and I have to make as wise of a purchase as I can. I had an instance come up last night. A local owned home decor shop had these coolest little remote control lights that look just like a candle flickering. I got home and looked them up on Amazon and can get them about $15 apiece cheaper from Amazon. I told my husband that I'm going to do the right thing and support my local business that pays local taxes and hires local employees and hopefully pays them a decent wage. I really want to try to become more aware. It is going to crush us if we don't.
  20. Whichever one gets the best mileage and is the most comfortable would be my suggestion. Both are good, low mileage vehicles. We always take my hubbies F150 on our travels. It is a gas hog, but is so comfortable and we can take whatever we want and buy whatever we want. Where are you going to and from? Sounds like fun. Be safe!
  21. Oh heck yeah!
  22. Wow! Mine queaks bad when it is really cold. I realize mine isn't a '14, but are you driving these cars when it is really cold?
  23. My '95 Z28 that I sold last year only had 52k miles. It is nice to have a garage king isn't it?
  24. Wow...that is a low mileage car! Is it not your daily driver?
  25. Awesome! I have had 10k trouble free miles. That is more than I can say for my Infiniti!
