  1. Sorry I can't help, but maybe it would be helpful if you posted a pic.
  2. Oh.....and welcome to LOC Charles. :-)
  3. I'm glad you brought this back up. Mine will turn off for no reason too. Might be a bump or sharp turn or just when I start the car. Is there a TSB? It is very aggravating when my favorite song is playing and just shuts off.
  4. Wow, now that is awesome. I have a friend that just traded a 4 Runner with over 340k miles. Toyota quality is amazing. I hope my girl lasts a long time. Maybe I could eventually get another daily driver and keep her for a weekend warrior. Welcome to LOC. You will love it here.
  5. And cost more.
  6. Whoooooo hoooooo!!!! Go Lexus. You couldn't give me a Chrysler product. That's a shame too 'cause I sure dig the Challenger.
  7. Good luck. Let us know what you decide on.
  8. I love my baby girl. I don't want anything to happen to her. :-) I once had a friend tell me that she never minded riding with me because she knew I wasn't going to let anything happen to my car.
  9. Once again, common sense has left the building. When I'm scrubbing my wheels/tires, I put my hand on the surface of the tires and feel the treads. I guess that is too difficult for the general public.
  10. Sorry, I can't answer your questions about longevity. I'm more of a love it and leave it type person. I trade cars every 2 or 3 years. It is a shame that Honda dropped the S2000. That was such an awesome car. I kept mine 4 1/2 years and it never went back on the dealership lot once I drove off of it. It was such a fun ride. I really think you would love the IS.
  11. I get 24.5 mpg in my IS250. It is slow compared to other cars I have owned, but it is responsive and I don't have any trouble getting around anybody I want to get around. I don't recommend the Infiniti. I had a G37 coupe. Bought it new and I had a lot of issues with it.
  12. I call it "race me red" It is funny. That Z28 I had for 17 years that I'm always talking about was bright teal metallic. I can't tell you how many people told me that that was the most beautiful Camaro they had ever seen. Other than that and the 2 red cars I owned, most of my cars were black, white or silver. My car now is called Ultra White. It is an F-Sport only color. I love it. Lots of pearl in it. Lex, you have 2 very nice cars. :-)
  13. I see your point. :-) I guess that is another reason I wouldn't want one. I love driving.
  14. I saw a red 5.0 Mustang on a transport truck today. Really made me drool. I haven't had a red car since my '93 Camaro.
  15. Sorry, I haven't a clue. What would a new one sticker for? Oh.....and Welcome to LOC!
  16. $300k for a car. I just don't see it. Pay that much just to have some jerk slam their door into it or key it. I guess they figured if Porsche can do it they can.
  17. I think different cars look better in different colors. They shouldn't paint a Trans-Am anything but black. Large trucks, white. I have always loved a silver car ( not gray ). I once had 4 in a row. So beautiful when clean and shiny. I think my ISC looks best in black or white. I can't own a black car. I'm too anal. Fun article, but I have to disagree. I bought my color because it was pretty. :-)
  18. Don't know about your ES, but the IS has a little plastic cover on the door handle that pops off and a key is in the fob. Take that key and open the door. :-) Hope that helps.
  19. I'm not sure exactly what kind of maintenance I'm supposed to do on all the rubber seals around my top. I'm getting horrible popping and stress noises. My back drivers side window sounds like it is under so much stress that it could just shatter. Everything looks lined up alright to me. I was going to try to use a good lubricant and see if that would help before I tried taking it to the dealer. I was just going to put the lubricant on the tops of the windows and then roll them up so I would know that it was getting in the right places. Question.....what lubricant would you recommend? I don't want it to all wash away the first time it rains and run all down the side of my car.
  20. When David's truck was in the shop, we had an Altima for a rental. I felt like I was sitting down in a pit. I do like being up high where I can see the world. Funny, I don't feel that way when I'm driving. I drove an S2000 for 4 1/2 years. Didn't bother me at all that I was that low.
  21. + 1 I agree with Lenore. We love our F150s. This is our 3rd. All 3 have been fully loaded with the FX Sport package. Best looking truck on the road by far. Dependable. Roomy. Comfortable. OK, the negatives, horrible gas mileage and I can't stand to drive it. Since I have had sports cars my whole life, I feel like I'm driving a living room when I drive it. When we travel, I can lay down my travel bag, suitcases and a full ice chest all fit in the back seat. I also feel very safe in it. See my post about us and our vehicle being fine in an accident and the Lexus being heavily damaged and having an injury. I'm not bashing Lexus at all. You know I wouldn't do that. It is basically just truck vs sedan.
  22. Very "vanilla" vehicles, just my opinion. Don't tell hubby because he thinks his F150s are the shizzy. I tell you, my sister rented a Ford Fusion and I was very impressed with it. My only objection is the darned torque steer. I hate front wheel drive cars.
  23. You are like me Lex, you buy with your heart....not brain. I don't have too many regrets. I guess my Z-car was a bad move. I only kept it a year and a half. I hate to say I was too old for it, but it rode so hard and had so much road noise that you couldn't hear the stereo, even after I installed some sound deadening material. I also do too much stop and go driving for a manual transmission. I love shifting and the feel of a clutch engaging, but not 5 times from 20 traffic lights. Not fun.
  24. Thanks everybody. Now I'm going to get my newly retired self out in that convertible and go enjoy this beautiful weather.
  25. No pay!?!?! I resign! :-) Thanks Paul for the introduction. It is an honor to be part of such a great club. I have one thing I would like to touch base on. It bothers me when I see posts of people introducing themselves and 400 people look at it but nobody replies. Let's all please make an effort to make our new folks feel more welcome. I hope if they feel the Lexus Love, they will want to come back and participate more. I'm sure we all have things we could learn from each other. Everybody have a great day and enjoy your ride.
