  1. I have tried 3 different fm transmitters two stunk and I tossed the Belkin I kept and works perfect. The key is finding a FM station that is blank like for example I use 88.3 FM perfect sound. Been using it for months with two different MP3 players on my Nakamichi Lexus Stereo, no complaints.. PS- don't buy the ones on EBAY they are all crap...
  2. See I was trying to be complementary and civil and you post that....that's too bad SWO3ES... Without insulting you and others further did you notice when I said "If you guys are getting something out of these posts, then keep posting it is all good". I was simply just suggesting a possible change because the subject was getting repititious, no need to get heated about it. I guess I won't suggest that again... I don't want to kicked off this forum, so I will now suggest everyone should keep posting away about guns, it's all good (I think), please everyone stay on subject, and I will even read what is posted........See but everyone must agree this is a little more enjoyable to read, and a little change of pace. I even have the administrator excited which I did not try to do. So to get back on subject about guns, I bought a real nice snub nose 357 magnum S&W about 10 years ago because I was living next to a crack house across the street, Mexican gangbangers, you name it...and felt I may be better off owning a gun. So the crack house is gone, the owner or drug dealer actually got shot and killed in the house. True story!! Now the bad element is gone and I still own this gun. It rests in my bedroom which I still keep for protection even though I now live in a nice area. It remains loaded with hollow tip bullets which were very hard to find at the time... I have never shot the gun, it is new...and hopefully I never will have to use it....But I would say if someone tries to break into my house in the middle of the night to steal my Lexus, LCD TV or this Tohiba Satalite laptop I am typing on, I may have to test out my 357 for the first time. I always wondered if this gun would have a good kick to it? In regards to my choice in hollow tip bullets I was told these bullets would stop someone at close range with one shot, and supposedly if shot by a hollow tip bullet, a small hole upon entry and a large hole upon exit. That way the robber, gang banger, drug dealer, etc.. would not have a chance to shoot me back. I will even provide a picture of my unused gun, and the two hollow tip bullets right next to it. I do appologise for suggesting a subject change, what was I thinking? Don't you guys think that is a nice looking revolver? Is this better?
  3. 3W03ES- You are absolutely correct, I love you administrators, you guys are always keeping things in line and are always so politically correct. As you know when a good majority of people on these forums want to debate, use profanity, insult others, cause a stir, or like me just want the posting to stop because the topic is played out. You guys just keep it all working smoothly...Good job I hope they pay you guys well for your talents..... However, I must state the obvious and that is this thread has covered all ends of the subject matter and is going no where fast. The original failed robbery attempt was amusing at first, then the gun control debate was interesting for a few posts, and then just more guns and guns and guns, I think everyone should chill!!!!! Some people like guns and feel better and safer carrying them, some put their trust in the man up stairs to protect them and they leave their guns at home, and others just don't think or even consider using or having guns period. Some may have UFC skills and don't need the guns for protection..Some may say it is better to have a gun and not need it then to not have a gun and need it. Everyone has different interests and I think they have all been expressed. You ask why do I not turn off my email notification? The answer is because I actually have a few Lexus car related threads pending for reply on this forum... and I have a strong desire to learn, modify and dominate or at least compete in the lexus performance seen.. Anyway, that is my situation which should not concern anyone but me, so you fella's just keep on posting and I guess I will have to grit my teeth and try not to fall asleep reading the same crap over and over. Just couldn't take it anymore and had to vent after the Bin Laden thread that just kept going and going (kinda like the energizer bunny) Anyway, if you guys are having fun and think you are getting something out of these posts you just go right ahead.. It's all good.. Anyway, I am now attempting to change the subject. (futile but got to try) So does anyone think the Steelers will lose in the Superbowl this Sunday? They look strong, but I am hoping the Seahawks can pull off the upset, those fans up in Seattle with all the rain probably could really use a lift...and you got to love the underdog.....
  4. The finished product, had to relocate the fan holding tank, and needed a small extending bracket for the radiator holding tank next to the air filter. I have a little wiring left and I am done hear are some pic's....
  5. So specific..... I did mention Osamu in the last post and it was sort of relevant...but let me get back on track- Ok, Osama is hiding somewhere probably in a cave or something and I believe he has no or limited power to communicate and cause further trouble. I also think it is only a matter of time before we hunt that *BLEEP* down... He looked as if he was in bad health anyway and just maybe if we are lucky he will die on his own soon. Terrorists- Homeland security baby!!!!! It's working so far.. Me-or you- Guru member, obviously a smart fellow with good knowledge of the automotive industry and now politics... Oh and your a Bama boy, probably live near a piggly wiggly's, and may have a confederate flag sticker on your car...No I am just kidding...... Am I back on track yet?
  6. Turn off your email notification. That should help. I know about turning off, but I am looking to get replies from other threads so I don't want to miss those notifications... Anyway I am cool with it, keep posting away if you guys are all having a good time, it's all good.....See ya
  7. To inspect the timing belt you need to remove all the plastic crap around the engine, here is a pic of my sc a week ago exposing the timing belts... The timing belts (2) are much like the serp belt on the sc400's if you see cracking or wear you change them... Timing belts should be changed on average every 100,000 miles or so, you can exceed that as these belts are big and durable, but rubber does wear over time...
  8. All righty then, you guys want to talk politics, where should we start? How about here in our home land.. First off- our Welfare system stinks and cripples our low income communities. It keeps the ghetto's and gang banging intact. Why get a job at Mc Donalds when I can get a free check on the 1st and 15th, free housing and food stamps, all from good ole Uncle Sam. That's right Section 8, General relief, food stamps, etc...why work? If you work you lose all these goodies, and freebees and make less money because of the limited job qualifications and skills, all you have to do is have more babies and then you receive more and more money from our government... That is the thinking and way of life for so many in those poor areas.... I also have seen good hearted young men turn to selling and doing drugs, gang banging etc..because they have too much free time, their thinking is if money is short I can always sling rock on the corners between gov. checks. People in the ghetto's work harder on trying to get free government checks and benies then they do for looking for a real job...and I can't blame them. I use to manage properties in South Central LA, I have seen this all first hand for years. Section 8 buildings, where the tenants are all on Welfare, but you go inside there apartments and they got new big screen TV's, new leather sofa's etc... courtousy of your hard paying tax dollars or drug selling....Pathetic!!!!! This is now passed down from generation to generation...and it doesn't stop. Drink your 40 and wait for the check or sling drugs....that is life for many in the ghetto... Second- Population control is out of control, our boarders remain open and the numbers keep coming. Freeways are jammed, California now should be called CaliMexico. Texas and others the same..... Again this influx of illegal immegrants is trouble and strains the system, health care, way of life, etc... I can go on and on, and yes the middle East is trouble as well, but we have a lot of seroius problems here at home that need attention and are as potentially dangerous on our society as our foes like Bin Laden and Sadam.... Now that I made everyone depressed, does anyone got some car trouble? :)
  9. What do guns have to do with Lexus cars? Chill I say, give my hotmail a rest....please......I know a good place to store a gun in an SC or SOARER, in the trunk.........
  10. I smoked a GT mustang in my modified 1992 SC400 about a month ago, they are fast but not that fast......If your going to buy a sports car and want juice, go with a new vette if you must go domestic, those are fast and look nicer too but more $$$... I cannot pass a vette 0-60 but a new mustang GT no problem.....I hear the new Pontiac GTO has 400hp and does 0-60 in under 5 seconds, that may be a more affordable option. The new Cadilac and also the new Jeep Grand Cherokee both due 0-60 in under five seconds. In fact this Jeep Grand Cherokee that is powered by the Hemi, will do it in the rain via AWD......It's scary to think that I might get used racing a stock Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV... Unbelievable....man they are making these newer production cars fast these days......Sick.... Those mustangs I would pass on.....Just my opinion...
  11. Man this thread is still going................ fella's chill we know all about the snake "Bin Laden" and we know his time is up. Subject over... This is LEXUS forum and you guys are cloging up my Hotmail....I love the good old USA and it is here to stay, but take this to the political forums... Anyone, got a car problem? I know I do......
  12. Sk, that is exactly what I had in mind, I will power direct from battery and have a relay as shown in the diagram.. Thanks for the reasurance, much appreciated... In regards to your question do you still want the fan running after the car shuts off?, the answer is no... and that is why I want to wire in a relay to the ignition fuse. Thanks again...
  13. I am just about finished with my 1992 SC400 Dual electric fan swap, however, I am now at the final stage where the wiring of the electric fans need to connect with the ignition wiring and A/C wiring. Conventional thinking suggests to run wires to the fuse box, locate the source and connect that way. After thinking about it I thought I would post and get some opinions on that. I need to access the ignition wiring so as to when I shut off the car the fans will not continue to run long after, also when I turn on the A/C I want the fans to turn on as well. Any thoughts on the best and most reliable way to connect to these sources? Here is a pic of the wiring diagram for the fans....
  14. So you did go for the engine Swap? Is it the same year engine swapped for $2000? You can run into ECU problems with different year engine swaps...
  15. There are rubber seals that go along your doors, windows, and sunroof, to prevent air and noise to come in, if someone had tried to break into your car at one time or if you had it jimmied for some reason that could create air leaks and noise, an accident and bodyshop repairs can also do that....
  16. Things you do not debate about- 1) Religion 2)Politics and now 3) Right to bare arms Things you do debate about- 1) Next salary increase 2) Cars 3) Sports Class is now over..................
  17. I have disconnected my battery so many times on my 1992 sc400, and never had a problem like that...on other sc's as well through the years. If the alarm goes off hit the disarming button on the key or use the key to open the passenger side door not driver side door. If memory serves me right, the alarm will go off...everything will reset.... If that doesn't work disconnect the battery completely again wait and re-try...Should not be a problem.
  18. Sorry to hear that.........
  19. If you have alot of money and want the best go for the tein flex coilovers. If you are on a budget try Eibach lowering springs (one inch drop)....Teins $1300, Eibachs $200 I think....
  20. You will lose, don't try it......Your take off from a dead stop will be your down fall......Can you say snail 0-30mph for a stock sc400.....
  21. I was watching the football games today and saw two commercials one advertising the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV and the New Luxury Cadilac and both to my suprise do 0-60MPH in "UNDER 5 SECONDS"!!!!!! That is fast!!!The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is powered with the Dodge hemi that puts out 425hp and a sticker of $39,000. The Cadilac I don't know what is going on under that hood... It is deflating to think I have been busting my !Removed! for over a year to get my 1992 Sc400 running at 400hp+. Now I must think twice about street racing a stock SUV and Luxury Caddy as they just may beat me. 0-60mph....Wow!!!!!!!!!
  22. I use to carry my 357 short barrel magnum when I drove into bad areas in LA, but I stopped because I did not want to get pulled over and searched, harsh penalty for carrying a loaded fire arm, just be careful... Call the police next time on your cell phone, that is there job not yours, you could have been shot, and you do not wear a vest the police do.. Just my opinion...I no longer carry the gun but do keep it for home pertection....Loaded with hollow point bullets as well... That does sound like a rush... How did you keep him down, what did you say? Details.....
  23. Great deal, Great car and very reliable if serviced. Buy it you won't regret it.....
  24. What is the real top speed on a new stock SC430? That is what I would like to know? Is it more then the real top speed of around 145mph on an SC400? Is the gearing the same or is made to run slightly higher for a faster top speed? Anyone?
  25. I edited that post I was stereotyping and that was wrong.........
