  1. I have this problem too. Its annoying but i thought it was regular. Let me know how it turns out. Who knows! their dash is loose and things inside it are loose too. Once I get in this car and hear the noises coming from every where I don't care about heating/cooling. In summer, the air comes out stincky--though for a short period--- I got my IS in 1/30/06 and only made 8k miles. Do you still have it?
  2. I think it was Mercury Maquis that had a commercial with a guy cutting a diamond while the car was going down the road. SNL then did a take-off on that with a Rabbi doing a circumcision in the back seat of a car. :)
  3. If it's been well taken care of, that's not a lot of miles for a Lexus.
  4. Didn't find it on YouTube.
  5. That's what I gave you. Carson is in Southern California Another discount lexus parts place is. http://lexus-parts.com/ They're reliable and quick. If a part isn't listed, submit a request and they will take care of you.
  6. It's pretty easy to check front tires for uneven wear. Just turn the wheels all the way one side or the other and you can see the whole tread. A tire shop will have a tread depth gauge and can measure the tread at several locations across the tire and get an early indication of uneven wear. The worse the roads the more you need to watch and get alignments more often. Another easy test is to run your fingers across the tread and see if you feel ridges or "sharp" edges in one direction. That's also an indicator of uneven wear. You gotta take care of your tires and check the pressures and wear, just like you check your oil and get it changed. Just keep an eye on the main things that keep your car going and in good shape. Better to rely on yourself than to expect the service department to always do what you think they ought to do.
  7. The concensus is that the smaller rims and narrower tires are better in snow.

  9. How can I be cheap by using conventional or a blend when I'm chastised for pouring money down a rat hole by changing oil more often?:cries: I didn't mean to call you cheap, and you do have a good point...$1 for a conventional quart of oil, and $5 for sythetic...It's the filters that are going to cost you more.... Let me rephrase my statement... If your Lazy and cheap like me go with Sythetic....If your not lazy and are a consumer by nature then go with conventional oil.... Is that bettter said? I don't drive my IS350 that much so I change with synthetic blend every 3000 miles or 6 months and get my filters from Irontoad. Costs me about $33 per change including tax and filter. That's my old school oil change habits from way back.

  14. Do your headlights move a little when you make a turn?
  15. I use Amsoil,,,what up? Am I supposed to put on my supeiriorilstic attitude and step up on the pedastal and rain down facts of immortality by lubrication? Yeah, right before I lock the thread. :chairshot:

  19. Maintenance schedule (From the Owners Manual) http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&id=3791 Charges vary from dealer to dealer. Your previous car may have had a prepaid service plan. Lexus dealers usually charge for scheduled maintenance. There are several threads here which discuss this.

  21. Cue the oil testing Amsoil people. :D
  22. I agree. I don't think you'll have any problems using synthetic.
  23. Thank you for the information. Do you know if there was a lexus fix released on this problem? I don't know of any Lexus TSB on this but a good alignment man can set it the way you want it, for more even wear.
  24. What? Take it to any Lexus dealer for warranty service. By the way, how did they get the car off the boat if the steering didn't work? It was in a container and they just lifted it off with a crane?
