  2. Hadn't heard of this happening yet. Is it a commercial or burned CD?
  3. I had the Goodyear all seasons on my LT1 Firebird and just happened to be up north a few times when it snowed. I got around just fine with those tires. I was between Columbus and Cleveland on I71 one night when a snowstorm started and traffic was running about 40 when it was moving. We passed several wrecks that night but I never had a minute's trouble maintaining traction, even with the 350 V8 power. The tires handled fine and wore well too. As for Tirerack numbers, I believe there was an article there some years ago when they tested high performance tires on identical IS300's. Don't know it it's still there or not and don't remember the results.
  4. I do know that Venezuelan crude is high sulfur content and the Citgo refinery is the only one that can refine it to US "spec". Perhaps the low mileage is just another way for Chavez to get back at us. :(
  5. Most of the people that I've read who had the Potenzas would not recommend them.
  6. The "what gas are you using" thread was combined out of a bunch of gas threads. It was pinned to make it visible and for people to add comments. This was to prevent the proliferation of more gas threads cluttering up the forum. This thread is being moved there for the same reasons. The topic can be discussed in the pinned forum just as well as anywhere else.
  7. I just wrote them a check. They had a nice party for me and my car that night.
  8. The only oil leak problem that I'm aware of shows up near the timing chain cover.
  9. I had a 02 that I bought in 03 and drove for 2 years. I liked it a lot and never had any trouble with it. It had had the ECU reflash before I got it. It was automatic. I only traded it because I wanted a 2nd gen IS. I'd agree with Smooth on the price. With 100,000 miles I'd say between $12,000 to $13,000 in excellent condition.
  10. I think you'll notice that it only happens when the blower is on it's lowest speed. I believe it's just barely overcoming the resistance of the filter and plenum and setting up a pressure wave. I think it's "normal" on all the 2nd gen IS.
  11. I predict stable prices at about $3.50 per gallon by mid October.
  12. What, did it finally stop raining in Oregon? Sorry, couldn't resist... ;) I know you couldn't resist. It takes discipline to resist these kind of petty comments.... Children, can we stop this now? Well, at least you seem to like your car's breakes.

  14. I gave up golf shortly after I beat the division VP in the weekly golf league.
  15. I don't know if it ever came to market but Uniden introduced a GPS with built in radar detector last December. http://www.engadget.com/2007/12/27/uniden-...etector-at-ces/
  16. Aha, a black car attracting bugs. What detailing products do you use?
  17. Being the old school type, I didn't feel the need for a luxury package. And I'm getting a NAV free from Continental Tire.
  18. Someone who knows will come along. Things are slow on nice weekends.
  19. Here's the Calibre web page. http://www.k40.com/home_main.html
