  1. So now they have them?????? I saw the pic of the guy's car on a message board but don't remember just where. If I see it again I'll link.
  2. I got the Mtec kit from the guy I think you're talking about. Japanese made. I'm quite satisfied with it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GENUINE-450...sspagenameZWDVW

  4. attached is a picture from the Lexus website of the 18" rims ... my 17" have 10 spokes, while - if i can count right - the 18" have 15 spokes! i personally like the 18"s for its darker shade ... anyway i can change the colors besides having to spray paint them? B) That's the accessory wheel 18-in ISP Mode alloy wheels with 18-in tires http://www.lexus.com/models/IS/accessories...ls_w-Tires.html There are also the G-Spider wheels http://www.lexus.com/models/IS/accessories...w-Tires_IS.html But the wheels Smooth1 has pictured are the factory optional 18 inch wheels.

B) well, attached is a picture of what is printed on the side of my tire: and here is a pic of the 10 spoke rim: those definately 18's yes? I have sam ting.
  6. nice one! but correct me if I am wrong ... but your rims look like they are the standard 17" ... The spokes look like the 18's that I came on mine.
  7. Go here and scroll down for the calibration instructions. Is this what you're doing? http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&id=3783 I don't think CAL will come up unless the system thinks it needs to CAL.
  8. When the first started changing pads on the TSB I think they were using GS350 pads.
  9. We're just trying to help keep the kid out of trouble. He's already decided drifting isn't for him. I see nothing wrong with a little frivolity along the way. Even us stodgy old farts need a little fun now and then too. :)
  10. Now, there's someone who has thought it through. Great suggestion! Would the calipers get too hot for applied stickers though? I drove the car for 2 years and the paint and stickers still looked great. I never put clear coat over the stickers either.
  11. dudes this thread is so yesterday... So hows it going? Any more parking tickets? :D
  12. I'd go with silver. That always looks good. The G2 system silver looks just like shiny metal. Than some black Lexus logo stickers. Here's how the silver looked on my old IS300
  13. I don't see the resale value thing. When I looked at the ISF I told the sales guy I wanted a bare bones one like my IS350. He started in on the resale idea. There's more markup in the accessories on a car than anything else and much greater depreciation on those accessories. You can see that when you "appraise" a used car on Edmunds. I really don't think nav is going to make or break a deal on selling a 3 to 5 year old car anyway. Any self respecting enthusiast is going to know that the nav is also 3 to 5 year old technology and if he really wants that particular car he's gonna get his own new higher tech nav. I think I'll be happy with my free Magellan unit since I've driven by the seat of my pants for all these years now and seldom get lost. Besides, my sister always trusts the nav in her Avalon. She trusts it so much that one time she ended up in the boonies way on the other side of Columbus and had to have her friend come and meet her and follow her home. Sometimes nav can get you into trouble. :D
  14. Don't egg him on! This guy is the type of driver that ends up killing himself and possibly someone else b/c he was irresponsible. That's why we spent all this time and effort not telling him how to drift.
  15. On the 06 models the set 2 isn't reading anything unless you install another set of tires with TPMS and have them coded into the system.
  16. I agree with Smoothie --- Regardless of what the "marketeers" say, when my wife and went looking for a new car, we went to Toyota and looked for a new 2008 Camry. The first thing I asked about was the NAV option. The dealer sales lady spent about 30 minutes looking all over the western states for the car we wanted WITH a NAV system, and she couldn't find ONE, AND they would not take an ORDER. So, that was the day we went to lunch and ended up at the Lexus dealer and bought the IS250, WITH a NAV. I doubt the depreciation is going to sway a used car buyer either way. We are in the "gadget" world I think a NAV system is a plus for any buyer, whether or not they want to pay for it. I believe a built in NAV system in luxury vehicles will be standard feature in the near future. Were you aware of the free Magellen GPS with the purchase of your Continental tires? http://ultimate-adventure.contisweeps.com/...mption_form.pdf
  17. Right. Some peope had that problem when they had inadvertently left the selector on tire set 2 instead of tire set 1. They got the error because there were no sensors there for it to read on tire set 2.
  18. OWNERS' MANUAL >>------------->> http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=25999
  19. There's an adjustment for your region and if that doesn't do it there's a "drive around in a circle" method in the owners' manual.
  20. I saw a pic of one on another forum. It had Lexus logo and I think he got it from a dealer.
  21. My jet ski went 0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds!!! :P That's amazing. :D
