  1. If you go to Youtube and search on IS250 exhaust, you'll probably find several sound clips.
  2. Yes as mentioned above the Conti Extreme Contacts will give that to you.
  3. We did. Don't try this at home kids.
  4. First you get a video cam.
  5. I did it all myself, but the brake fluid flush and inspection. Cost me just shy of $100 for that at the dealer.
  6. Continental Extreme Contacts are Z rated, have a high treadwear rating and don't really sacrafice much in handling. They're also pretty quiet. I've got them on my IS 350 and like them very much.
  7. Hopefully it's not something internal. The first thing that comes to mind would be a leak in the valve cover gasket.
  8. I had the previous Eagle GT All seasons on my Firebird and they did great. I even got caught in snowstorms in Ohio a couple of times and they even did ok in the snow. I would recommend them.
  9. People keep receipts for that very reason. If you aren't getting the oil changed at the dealer, the receipts are your proof. I change every 3000 miles and reset the light when it comes on at 5000. I could reset it once a week if I wanted to, since it's a manual reset.
  10. The dreaded oil arguments always center around oil types, extended change intervals and oil testing. We just prefer not to get into that. As for the dealer being able to tell you haven't changed oil according to the company specs, you won't have legit receipts for on time oil changes.
  11. $1.79 for regular at the Chinese gas station here.
  12. If a "passable job" is all you want... .... ... . . .. . . But if you intend to start another one of those oil discussions that goes on and on and round and round, we don't do that here.
  13. The invoice for my brake pads says. 473301 F DSC Brake Pad Claim type RG 04465-30400 Pad Kit, Disc Brake The service adviser said they were replaced under warranty.
  14. I think the same TSB covers both. Before the brake dust TSB came along some dealers wouldn't replace pads unless the customer complained of squealing. Now I believe both dust and noise are covered under one TSB with the same parts as a fix.
  15. See http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...52732&st=10
  16. You can get the OEM spoiler from Carson for $199. http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=1993
  17. 7 quarts is too much oil. Some will get thrown out or at least the system won't work proplerly. This could be part of the problem. Going 15,000 miles on a new car that the mfr recommends 5000 mile changes has put you into a problem. If there ever is any damage and you take it to Lexus they have a perfectly good out from the warranty. I don't see where Lexus is at fault in any of this. The cars are great, but you can't expect them to do everything for you. I have a 06 IS350 and change with synthetic blend every 3000 miles, simply because I'm old school. I also check the oil level every week or two depending how much I drive. I've never seen any drop in oil level at all. I'm of the opinion that I have to take care of the car if it's going to take care of me. I'd say you never reached low enough oil pressure to get a warning. I guess what you really need is a low oil level warning light.
  18. The expected life of the 2nd generation high performance front pads is 20,000 miles. Some have gotten somewhat less and many have gotten more. It is one of the caveats in the owner's manual I believe. It's possible that if one did wear them out at that mileage and didn't replace them soon enough they could ruin the rotors.
  19. The lights on the trunk lid, yes.
  20. I had the upper pole of my right kidney removed in 1974 and I'm still ticking. Hang in there dude.
  21. (The jack is a pantograph.) Those are the points where you put the standard jack that came with the car when you change a tire. These are strenghtend points for supporting the car. You'd put jack stands under these notched out points. It's better and more stable to use a hydraulic floor jack to lift one end of the car ant then put jack stands under the points marked on the diagram. The emergency standard jack is not all that stable and only intended for changing a tire in a flat tire on the road situation.
  22. It's possible somewhere along the way someone used the wrong type of transmission fluid. I'd check and see that the correct fluid is in there now. The water pump could have gone out if the previous owner didn't keep the coolant changed on time. Coolant has some lubricant and corrosion inhibitor that wears out over time.
  23. 4. REMOVE 2 ANTI- SQUEAL SPRINGS 5. REMOVE 2 BRAKE PADS WITH 4 ANTI-SQUEAL SHIMS
