  3. First you need to get the VIN of the car you want and then go to a Lexus dealer and have them check their computer for service records. For the 2001 IS300 model itself, you can find the TSB's listed at http://alldata.com

  5. I believe by "pulling down" he means pulling down the channel locks, thereby turing the solenoid body, and thus unscrewing it. Can you understand that inference?
  6. When you disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10 minutes or so, the ECU loses some of the memory it has stored as to driving habits, and some of the operating perameters. Basically the ECU goes back to it's "new" default learning state. Then when you drive the car the ECU is learning "fresh" info, including the airflow from the new intake. The ECU would learn this anyway, but it might take over 200 miles or more of driving before it incorpoates all the info into the way it controls the engine. Most people reset the ECU after making a "performance" mod, so it starts learning right away.
  7. The resistor just goes in the circuit from the IAT sensor. I don't think it's going to do any real damage. Might notice a difference more in the summer though.
  8. Make sure the E brak is on, the car is in park and the rear wheels chocked before you go under there.
  9. New Mercedes are way overpriced in the US. IMHO.
  10. If they're hooked up with Carson Toyota, they are probably OK. Thier prices look high to me on most stuff though.

  13. I got this from another board. I can't guarantee, but others say it works.
  14. Overdrive gives a slightly lower (numerical) final drive ratio. It's like having an extra gear so the engine runs at lower RPM than it does in D and should give better mileage. Driving around surface streets is ok to drive in D for a little extra punch when you need it. You'll do better on the highway in overdrive. There are varying opinions, but I always drive with trac on. Some of the super twisty road drivers might turn the trac off so it won't kick in when they break a wheel loose on the road. Normal driving ought to be trac on. IMHO.
  15. A good lock shop should be able to cut it. Do you know how to program it?
  16. There's a pretty good IRS tax incentive for alternative fuel vehicles that might be helping as well.
  17. For direct replacement bulbs, Silverstars are the best way to go. Going bluer will give you less light than your OEM bulbs.
