  1. Bill's Quick Oil Change has Castrol in big drums, and some other brands in bottles and cans. He also has Toyota and Honda filters on request.
  2. I dunno the system on that car. Only ever messed with the IS300. You can go to this link and pay $10 to subscribe for 24 hrs and download all the tech stuff you need. http://techinfo.lexus.com/
  3. It's not really a big deal but word has gotten around on how to defeat it anyway.
  4. The only info I have is in the list above under "Nav other functions". http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...pe=post&id=3776
  5. The combination of JoeZ intake pipe and Tom's stock replacement filter works pretty well, isn't noisy, and won't cause you any problems. Total cost less than $200. 6. Huh what? Huy, as in, what are you talking about? Perhaps some more details as to hos this handle caused accident or injury.
  7. I seriously doubt it they will. The previous model sales were really bad.
  8. I think all the US spec cars come standard with sun/moon roofs. Don't know why the UK cars without have a different overhead light, etc. setup.
  9. I'd really like to know if it's at all possible to order it as a spare part - and if so, what the part number is! I guess it'll be a while before spare parts for the IS250 will be available on ebay and such. But thanks for the tip! /Daniel You also did not read the UK post very well :chairshot: My photos show what's in the European model so its self explanatory that it's not a straight swop. The part number if you want it is 81260A and the list price is $757.46. Maybe that's because the last post here was on Jan. 11 and your pic was posted on Jan 28. We did our best to help, but I don't think anyone was interested enough in the European model to continue with the posts on the UK forum.
  10. Well, the heat shields on the cats may go tink tink tink, but I never heard them go poppity pop pop.
  11. Break it in per the owners manual. Don't make hard stops for 100 miles and drive at varying speeds for the first 600 or so miles. Haven't heard of anyone with the popcorn sound. You should have that checked at the dealer.
  12. Do the bulbs have the metal stripe lengthwise along the glass?
  13. Steamer sounds like a great idea. Don't know why I never thought of that before.

  15. My parts list shows different part numbers for 2001 and 2002 2001 Tach 83881-53220 2002 Tach 83881-53430 Might make a difference.

  17. IS300's are geared that way. 3000 RPM at 70 MPH is normal. That's one advantage of the 06 IS. It has a 6 speed trans so top gear is higher and it turns lower RPM at equivalent speeds. That's one factor in the better highway mileage figures.
  18. I don't think Lexus is purposely limiting supply. In fact I believe they have cranked up production at the 2nd factory. Sales appear to be far ahead of what they expected, so it's going to take some time to fill up the pipeline. Of course, you won't ever see 50 gen2 IS on some dealer's lot, but supply will catch up and demand will slack off a little. Probably in 6 months you'll be able to get better deals. It's obvious Lexus wants this car to be a hit after the dismal sales figures for the gen1 IS.
  19. Yeah, they shouldn't be throwing on unrequested dealer installed options like that. Tell em to stuff it.
  20. Not sure how yours is but the IS350 allows initialization for two different sets of tires and wheels. Some of the guys inadvertently flipped the montor to tire set #2 and got warning lights. Also if there's been a sharp decrease in temperature the tires could actually be low.
  21. I'd be more likely to compare the IS350 to the G35, since the IS250 has a smaller engine. I drove the IS 250 and was sold on the ride, luxury, and handling, but it was too slow. So I bought the IS350 and got all the same plus the power. Since the local Infiniti and Lexus dealerships are owned by the same person, and at the same location, I was able to also test drive the G35 and the two Lexus models during the same time period, with the same salesman. The G35 comes close, but doesn't have as nice interior, std features, and has a harsher ride. It's probably a matter of personal taste, but I felt the IS350 was superior and worth the price. After driving it 3 months I still feel the same way.
  22. There are some people with GTE swap experience in the forum at this link. http://my.is/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=114
  23. I think the Toyota Avalon comes with reclining rear seats. :D
