  1. btw, if l-tunedparts really wanted to.. they can have this seller's auction shut down for copyright infringement using their pics (if these pics are originally l-tuned's).
  2. lots of ebay sellers tend to use pictures from other websites in their auctions. you can tell that ebay seller tries to blur the image on the license plates and not only that they claim the pics are their own by having their signatures on it. i'm sure there is a difference quality in material and craftmanship in l-tunedparts vs ebay items.. surely.. hopefully. you get what you paid for.
  3. i would have your PCV valve checked and/or changed out if it wasn't done along with the VC gaskets. Hopefully you're still not using the original one
  4. I'm a recent customer of Lextech for an A/C unit light bulb service. I was surprised and sorta disturbed that I received the unit back and had the responsibility of splicing into other electrical wires to find power source and ground source for two new little wires that was "customed" serviced for the 14V light bulbs that they installed. I was expecting a simple OEM light bulb change and then a plug-n-play to get everything back into place. So right now I'm driving around with the unit installed with no backlighting on the unit until I have the time to search for wires to splice into. From a customer point of view, it would be wise to detail this requirement before service somewhere on the website bc not all car owners are electronically-abled if you will. If there IS a link somewhere, please attch it here or PM/email me. What will it take to have everything back to normal if I ship it back for OEM bulbs? Who cover the costs shipping to and from?
  5. why not check your other cars, family and relatives cars, even friends cars (if they permit) and top off their brake fluid too. make full use of that bottle :)
  6. you can't go wrong with OEM/Toyota drop in paper filter.. just make sure you change it out as routine preventive maintenance. Read and understand about K&N filters if you want to upgrade to that (I too use it).
  7. yea, keep your negative terminal disconnected for at least 10minutes
  8. member blake918 had that cel 0402 before and finally solved it by changing his VSV. Before that He changed the EGR valve&modulator without success. Read this thread: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...excessive++flow You may want to try other cleaning suggestions before replacing parts. Also, check your intake tube for cracks, pinholes, leaks. How's the car driving/idling? Any symptoms?
  9. I typed alot of different ways in what I was looking for they came up with no results. When do have to replace you Catalytic converter I'm 147000 does it need it yet? ← i don't believe replacing the catalytic converter is a routine preventive maintenance item. replace it when it craps out due to other cause and effects bc it's big bucks for part and labor from what i read. i could be wrong.. someone please correct me if i am.
  10. Where are the FAQ's???? ← i believe each subforums has a pinned FAQ thread at the top, i.e. Lexus ES250/ ES300 / ES330 Forums Subforums
  11. Gav, this may help http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...t=ST&f=7&t=3344
  12. Roll tide!! hehe you'll have to be more specific where and when that squeaky sound is coming from. if you're talking about a squeaky/clunking/quishing sound coming from the rear whenever you go over speed bumps, road/driveway dips, etc, it could be your struts bump stops, strut mounts, struts, sway bars endlinks/bushings. i still have that annoying sound after changing out suspensions on all four corners (struts, strut mounts, & springs). they were overdue for a changeout anyways. bottom of my car was scraping whenever i go over speed bumps with passengers in the back. my next step is try lubricating the sway bar endlinks/bushings (bushings look ok), else change them out too. do a search on struts and read what other people have tried. good luck.
  13. not just the roads.. schools and offices!! LOL anyways, i'm not surprised about the Toyos performance in snow/icy roads after reading these users ratings in those road conditions.. luckily we don't have that problem down here. http://www.1010tires.com/Toyo_Proxes_TPT_tires.html
  14. it's in the collision catalog.. Collision Catalog Windshield , Wiper and washer components ,Washer nozzle Aqua Beige Black Blue Green Paint to Match Red Shell White Free shipping too. eBay them if they don't fit i guess..
  15. $20 apiece at my dealership vs $9ea at newlexusparts.com.. go figure. anyone has any clue if these 03ES nozzles fit 1st gen ES's (92-96)?
  16. Online is always cheaper! :D I just found them for $47.XX online. OEM ← cheaper if it's free shipping.
  17. www.motorvac.com http://www.aescosc.com/MV_MCS245.html its an equipment used by mechanic shops for complete fuel injection cleaning for carbon buildup. my local shops and dealerships never heard of it but they have their own equipment for the service (approx. $80-100 for the service, recommended every other year for preventive maintenance)
  18. those are typical/normal quotes from the dealerships. i got mine done for $800p&l Lexus of Mobile. you can probably get it done couple hundreds cheaper at an independent mechanic that you can TRUST.
  19. since the jdm deflectors cover that door strip, you may want to find out if the jdm deflectors are taped on vs installed inside the window channel like the Weathertech's. i don't know if that will affect your decision or if you even cared.. i personally wouldn't want taped-on parts.
  20. Changing that torque strut and front motor mounts were enough to solve my clunking/jerky shifting from R-N-D in my 95ES. I just recently had this done and can't get over the difference it now feels.. like new. You could start out changing just these two mounts and go from there.
  21. Did you receive an owners/maintenance manual with the car? It should be stamped by Lexus if any scheduled service was done on it. Also, have you tried going to a different Lexus dealership and have them print out a list of all services done at any Lexus dealerships (if any)? Tehy shouldnt have any problem doing this if there's any record. You can start out fresh by having the fluids changed: transmission fluid (pan dropped&filter cleaned), coolant fluid, oil&filter, spark plugs&wires, air filter as mentioned, maybe PCV valve, topping out other fluids like power stearing, brake & windshield wash as mentioned. A Motorvac/fuel injection cleaning (including the throttle body) is also good. I believe all of this can be done approx. $300 at an independant shop you can trust. Have the brakes and suspension checked when you install the new tires. Don't forget the interior and exterior of your car: wash, clay, clean, polish & wax Is there an expiration date for the $300 Lexus coupon? If not, I would save that nice meal ticket until time for timing belt&water pump change (90k service). Good Luck & enjoy the ride!
  22. ran into this thread while searching for info on fog lights. SK might be right on the money again with the suggestions on bad wires to the battery.. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=15167&hl=
  23. Member nicksan started up a thread a couple days ago with the same problem ur having. His problem is currently unresolved at this time. Follow up on his thread and try some of the suggestions in it: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=16436 Try tracing back when the problem occurred and maybe disable accessories that were installed (i.e., XM radio, remote starters, etc).
  24. sometimes it takes the local media involvment to make things happen. maybe the consumers can get better and faster results rather than just simply voicing our opinions and concerns to the officials at Lexus. i wonder how many other Don Hammonds (not to mention future Lexus buyers) are out there who is interested in reading this thread and reporting on the problem.. "(Don Hammonds can be reached at dhammonds@post-gazette.com or 412-263-1538.)"
  25. you get what you paid for.. an eBay seller with a private feedback listing obviously has something to hide about himself and his items. get a hundred people to buy this $7 item shipped and thats a pretty nice drop of change in his pocket for somthing others agree as "garbage." my 2c.
