  1. check the same fusebox under the hood beside the battery that contains the horn relay.. there is also a 10A fuse for the horn there.
  2. i'm fairly certain the Solara strut tower brace will not fit the 92-96 ES300's without hood clearance issues. you may need to do further research before you waste time/money on this.
  3. hi and welcome to LOC. check and make sure the 3 strut mount bolts and particularly the big center bolt is tightened to spec. i had a clanking metal noise that developed from the front right wheel area once (audible whenever going over bumps) and came to find out that center bolt needed re-tightening. so start with that.
  4. yup sure did.. last time i checked it was just cracked half way but now it's cracked all the way across the tip part just above the window switch. it must be heat stress bc the rear window switches very rarely get used by passengers to be damaged by anyone. how do these trim pieces pop off anyways.. just pry them out?
  5. i'll take it Blake.. mine is cracked on that same piece. let me know how much is shipping to AL 36619.. i'll paypal you asap. thanks!
  6. another surprise you might find later on (if you don't already know) is that the JDM headlight assembly requires a 9006J low-beam bulb type. the typical US 9006 low-beam bulbs that you find in any autopart store will not fit in the JDM assembly due to different tab orientations and diameter differences of the mounts where the bulbs twist into the headlights. just closely compare the JDM headlight assemblies to your USDM and their respective bulbs and you will see what i'm describing. sounds like you also receive bulbs with the JDM headlights. i cant remember.. the 9005 hi-beam bulbs may be in the same situation (i bought a set of JDM's off ebay also awhile back).
  7. there's an ebay power seller selling Denso OE O2 sensors for: Denso 234-4623 $50 Denso O2 Oxygen Sensor 234-4622 $63 i'm currently waiting on mine in the mail. www.sparkplugs.com is another source for sensors.
  8. it's $42 last time i checked on newlexusparts.com: Collision Catalog - 1995 - Lexus - Es 300 Engine / transaxle, Air intake, Hose, Hose - 1994-96 1 $41.28 $0.00 $41.28 it's easiest to just remove the entire intake hose along with the air filter lid and MAF sensor in one piece then take them apart when they're out of the engine. this way you can also clean the MAF sensor and throttle body with some o2 sensor-friendly spray.
  9. also inspect your engine mounts, particularly the dogbone mount, for torn bushings.
  10. an easy&cheap check is to buy a $5 can of silicone lube stray in any autopart store and spray the bushings then test drive to see if the noise lessens or is eliminated. my local toyota dealership even carry a relabeled silicone spray can that you can buy for this purpose/noises.
  11. 1. check the volume control knob for the alarm to see if it's turned way down 2. do a search for a/c cabin air filter. there's a DIY how-to to change out the filter. for your model year (02+?), i believe it's at the rear of the glovebox 3. do a search on shift-lock override button.. allows you shift the shifter without the keys in engine off. that tiny cap can walk off and disappear if you're doing cleaning work around that area. mine disappeared when it fell in the console area when i removed that wood trim to clean it. welcome to LOC.
  12. The rubber swaybar bushings are verry easy to replace! It's #14 in the attached pictire. -remove the wheel for better access -remove 2 bolts holding the sway bar bushing bracket (#13pictured) -slide the old bushing out (factory bushings are split down the side to make make it easy to install w/o having to remove the sway bar) -make sure you grease the inside of the new bushing before you reinstall -reverse the procedure to reinstall everything newlexusparts.com has those bushings for $9ea (92-96ES3) free shipping
  13. my reman front axle shafts are still running fine since a local Firestone installed them on 8/2003 with whatever brand/source they used. anyways, like mentioned in the previous post they come with lifetime warranty so all you pay again is labor if anything goes wrong with the reman axle shafts.
  14. one filter should be labeled as TOP and the other as BOTTOM and both filters are installed (if i recall correctly i got mine from irontoad.com). tops goes in first.. slide in and then slide upward as far as possible. next bottom slides in. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...pe=post&id=1777
  15. Local Toyota dealer asking for $103.00 a peice for each sensors. If i remember correct, V6 has 3 Sensors. What is part no for Universal fronts(Two)? anybody used Universal? toysrme listed all the part numbers for Denso (direct fit vs universal).. his chart is just kinda hard to interpret. 234-4209 is the universal. you can also price check Denso parts here www.sparkplug.com
  16. hoebag, he's a new member so he can't send PM at this time. so you guys will have to email each other and share contact info.
  17. PM members Hoebag and/or omaha_lex on clublexus.com. they are selling their oem HID healight assemblies but without the bulbs and ballsats. hopefully your ballast on the passenger headlight wasn't damaged. you will most likely need to buy 2 new HID bulbs anyways to color match.
  18. do a search on ebay for bumper covers and related parts.. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?f...us+es300+bumper newlexusparts.com have the cover for $275 :chairshot:
  19. my local Lexus dealership quoted me $665 p&l for rear main seal replacement. you should be able to get it done cheaper at Toyota or a reputable inde shop.
  20. no affiliation with this seller but i see these often on ebay for control arms with bushing and ball joint: lexus es300 control arm search on ebay
  21. " New for 2005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The ES 330 received freshened exterior styling, Cashmere or Ash interior leather colors, available Golden Bird’s Eye Maple interior wood trim, revised steering wheel with audio and display controls, optional 17-inch wheel package, and available heated/ventilated front seats. "
  22. also, from msn auto website: " New for 2004 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The ES 300 is renamed the ES 330 for 2004 with the addition of a 225-horsepower 3.3-liter V6 engine and a revised 5-speed automatic transmission. In addition, side-impact airbags are larger and the optional satellite navigation system is improved. "
  23. $800 for a TB/WP service is about what a Lexus dealership would charge. if you're commited to buying this ES and willing to pay that much, i would let the dealership do the work and let them inspect the car further for other possible worn out parts or problems. as mentioned a toyota dealership will do the job for couple $100s less and a reputable inde mechanic can be found to charge about half the dealership. also sounds like you may have leaking valve cover gaskets if your engine is caked on the sides so inspect them for oil leaks.
  24. locate lexus YEAR and MODEL and search under collision catalog for Front/Rear suspension , Stabilizer bar and components ,Stabilizer bar ,Bushing newlexusparts.com
