  1. It's not a dumb question; there's no such thing as a dumb question.... ;) A harrier is a slender, narrow-winged hawk that is common throught the World. It is a fast, smooth flying bird that gave Toyota the name Harrier because they thought the car had similar features as this bird. And the Harrier isn't a different limited version, it's just the Toyota name for the rx. It can be ordered with the same features as the rx, just isn't found in the US.
  2. For the heck of it i took the camry (2004 according to the sticker) to work in the snow today to work. It was good on the highway (mostly slush) but on the side streets it was horrible. It couldn't go up ANY hills and couldn't turn well. I had to move back about 50 feet and floor it until i ended up in the bushes in the left lane from fishtailing LOL. I am deffinetly not used to NOT having AWD! I didn't even really know if it really works, but now i know it does. It was pretty comfortable but after 30 minutes i was about to break my back. The ride was smooth (not as much as the es ;) ) and was pretty quiet. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to turn the heat on with all those weird turn dials but i eventually did and it warmed up VERY quickly! The steering wheel wasn't as nice as the 3 spoke's on the Lexus but i got used to it. Does anyone know the material that the steering wheels on the camry's are made of? It wasn't leather but more of a plasticy-rubber material. but overall it was better than nothing, but i am still dissapointed they couldn't get another Lexus loaner for me. With all those cars on the lot, they couldn't get me one....?
  3. If anyone wants to know who my dealer is, it's Inskip Lexus. ;) don't go to them!
  4. (sorry for the spelling error in the title LOL "lonar" = loaner) Yesterday i dropped off my rx300 to my dealer so they could fix my broken moonroof. The only problem they said, was that it was something that would take a long time to fix, so i would need to leave it there overnight. I asked for a loaner car, and they said no problem. About a half hour of waiting around the man came in and gave me the keys to what i thought would be another lexus loaner. :o It turned out to be a toyota camry SE...Is this what they give for loaners now?!?! Now i have to take this front wheel drive tin can in a foot of snow i'm supposed to get tomorrow I think Lexus customer satisfaction is going down the tubes... This camry doesn't even have leather or anything! I don't even think it's an 05; it has 28k miles on it (still better than the 61k miles i have on the rx, but still). I am really mad at my dealer. Oh and did i forget to mention that i have to pay for this loaner!! What loaners do you get?
  5. That's EXACTLY what i want!! :D I'll check out that website. Thank you
  6. I agree with you 100% as to why the law says "don't go over this speed of 60mph on the highway etc." The only benefit i see to anyone is the government. Every time someone gets a speeding ticket (and i've gotten over probably 15 in my life even WITH a radar detector) the government gets $$$. Not to be mean or anything, but i don't really think the government sheds a tear when a driver dies on the road for any reason. They don't care about anything but money is what i think! To tell you the truth i don't really pay attention to the law very much unless it's absolutely necessarly. I have never been arrested or even been a court room, unless with my wife at a case. If i WANT to go fast for whatever reason on the road i will, unless there's a foot of snow or ice on the road, where slow speeds are needed. If it's 2 in the morning and no one is on the road, WHATEVER!! time = distance over rate!! The faster you go, the sooner you'll get to your destination! It makes that much sense! ;)
  7. My wife's 05 es330 right now does not have a spoiler. Is it possible to install a spoiler to it that has the 3rd brake light option? Would the wiring be a pain? I'm not sure if holes need to be drilled either... If so, do you know where they can be ordered from? Can i get them directly from the dealer? Should i have them install it or is it easy enough for me to do? I think i'm capable of drilling and tapping a few holes if i know where to drill them. ;) Also do they come already painted, or only primed? The color i need is blue onyx pearl. Thanks
  8. This system you're talking about here is the "dynamic auto-leveling system." If there is a lot of weight in the rear of the car, the headlamps would move downward to illuminate the road more than into space; blinding oncoming traffic. Since the 93 gs didn't even come stock with this feature it would be impossible to get one for it. Last year my brother wanted me to put HID looking bulbs on his 2001 toyota camry. The size of the halogen stadard bulbs in the camry is 9006, so i looked on eBay for 9006 bulbs that have the white/blue look he was looking for. The first ones i spotted where 6000k supposedly "xenon" bulbs the correct size. When i got them, and put them in, they looked pretty boring. They were a little better than the standard halogen, but not anything like the color of stock HID xenons. Then i went back on eBay and saw some more bulbs, this time 8500k. I bought them, and they work peeerrrrfectly! The white/sky blue color, the same as the xenons on the standard lexus. I put my wifes old gs430, rx300 and rx330 (all have xenon's) next to the camry and couldn't tell the difference, except for the brightness level. The higher K you go up, the less output brightness. This is just from my experience, so you might wan't to check with other people's first. I don't remember the brand of bulbs i bought, but they were $20 for all of them. In my opinion they are a great product and i would reccomend them to anyone.
  9. yes it is a typo LOL it was supposed to be LS400*
  10. Very happy that you are ok from that accident. and from these responses i know they are needed, and am greatful that airbags were invented ;)
  11. The moonroof still doesn't open The windows do but that's all..... I'm taking it to the dealer right now.
  12. you knwo what, its a long shot, but give the switch a hit or 2. when the window switches on my ES stopped working, I hit them fairly hard and they all went back to normal. worth a shot. its already not working, so it cant get much worse right? ← just wacked them with a rock LOL and still don't work :P A new scratch but no open moonroof...
  13. I baught an 1990 LS400 in 1990. It wasn't the top of the line; and wasn't the bottom. I spent around 45k for it if i remember corectly. ;) Great car
  14. It's deffinetly not my fault that the moonroof doesn't open....why should i have to pay for it, so i WILL give it to the dealer. I'm only worried if they're gonna tell me another excuse like, "It working as was designed," the same one they gave me when the 99 rx's transmission blew out . This is DEFFINETLY not working as was designed!
  15. where is the fuse located? The car is still under warranty, whould i just fix it myself or send it to the dealer? which is lest costly (dah) LOL and less work?
  16. Why is it that the rear view camera's image on the console screen is concave? why doesn't it look like a normal video? It just makes it harder to tell depth and size. I would rather i didn't have it LOL. also, can it be removed in any way? thanks
  17. This morning i had to go to the gas station to fill up some gas cans. Of corse i had to take my 03 rx300 (the one with all the problems) becasue of the room in the back. When i got back into the rx, i couldn't stand the smell of the gas, so i opened the windows a crack. I also decided that i was going to open the moonroof to vent out the vapors. When i clicked the button, nothing happened I tried the slide; nothing at all. I didn't even hear a motor turn or anything, so i don't think it was just that the "cold" was freezing it. I tried it a few minutes ago, and still nothing... In the whole 2 years i've owned it, i don't think i've used the moonroof even once, so i don't know how old the problem is... Does anyone know what might be wrong?
  18. If you are looking for the white/blue color as HID xenons show, go more than 7000k. but if they aren't stock HID xenons, they won't be bright. If you actually want to be able to see the road better, stay with what you've got, or go 5000k - 6000k. These will be very bright for seeing the road, but won't have the white/blue light.. ;)
  19. The LS i got for my son, The 04 ES330 i got for my daughter, The 05 ES330 is my wife's, and the Rx330 and Rx300 are mine. both my wife and i drive over 40k miles a year so I have 2 cars to divide the miles up a little, and just because i love Lexus's ;) Also the rx300 has major problems so i have the rx330 for backup The rx300 will be going soon; it already has 61k miles on it... and a new POW (problem of the week) every week... And yeah the insurance is a killer...and the taxes! yikes..LOL
  20. I was just asking if they were ABSOLUTELY needed because i have heard of the costs of putting new airbags back on to a car after they deploy. but no amount of money is worth a life ;)
  21. I would highly reccomend a radar detector! I have them in all of my cars, and YES they really work. When the cops have their radar guns on, the detector detects the signal and beeps or lights up (which ever you choose). I too somethimes find myself going over 90 sometimes, being inturrupted by the beeping of the radar detector. But a new system has been introduced that the cops can use using laser or something like that. This signal the radar detectors can't detect. So don't 100% rely on it. but yes they do work.
  22. On the 1992-1997 clusters, the lighting is by bulb. There are no colored caps on them, just the straight bulb. This shines off the yellow hue color, which is extremely ugly if you ask me. The 1998 (figures; same year i sold my 92) clusters are a brighter white color. The needles are no longer the SMD ones; now 1 LED. I am not sure if the lighting on the 98+ sc modles is still bulb. Are they as well LED's or cold cathodes? But if you still want to stick with bulbs, there are replacement bulbs that omit a brighter white color. They have regular bulbs but have blue glass. The tellow mixes with the blue creating a white color. The only thing is that you lose brightness. It may be hard to see during the day in direct sunlight...
  23. Will all car headlamps end up yellowing? Or is it just on old cars?
  24. Is it good to moisturize leather seats? Does it make the leather last longer? Will it prevent/bends creases in the leather? Will it discolor the surface? How often should/can it be added? Any specific brands to suggest? Thanks; trying to keep it in as perfect condition as possible ;)
