  1. I made the dealer throw one in when I bought my 08RX. I love it. Jeff
  2. There is a thread I think by mandyfig with detailed instructions and pictures on how to put a screen on. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-second-...on-air-dam.html
  3. For the windows you can also buy some dry silicone spray and spray the rails the window slides on. The spray has a long nozzle that you stick down the edge of the window and spray inside the door on the side rails. Then try to run the window up and down to lube the rails.
  4. The ipod /cassette adapter works good on my 08/RX350. Not as hi-tech as you would think on a car this modern, but it is what it is. Jeff
  5. Thanks for checking back and letting us know what the problem was, it will help another member some day. Glad it worked out ok. Jeff
  6. Get the dealer to pull the codes from the computer. It sounds like the engine is being held in some form of limp mode by the computer. Have you had any check engine lights? Did you check to make sure the floor mat isn't stuck under the gas pedal?
  7. When was your oil changed last and who changed it? You will have to take the cover off the under side to see where the oil leaked from. You might want to have it towed to the dealer if they change the oil, but do not drive it. Jeff
  8. Also check the small hose on the lower rear side of the air cleaner box.
  9. Expensive yes, the front windshield will not shatter into the small pieces.
  10. Sounds like the battery, if the alternator was bad it wouldn't run with the dead battery, but with the bad battery it could still run till you shut it off.
  11. It is a project to remove the carpet from a car. I did it on an Accord that I have and you have to remove the seats the kick panels the sills below the doors the center console the covers on the side of the front center console. I had a service manual and it went good with the step by step instructions but it is a lot of work.
  12. I think that the back up lines were on the assisted parking cars. Jeff
  13. Are the screws that hold the arm tight?
  14. If you can get the car to a dealer they have most of the wheel locks there. I had mine taken off at the local Toyota dealer when they didn't know where mine was kept. I saw there case of lock keys and one guy was trying them till he found one that fit. I showed them where mine is kept. It is in the tool pouch. Jeff
  15. That bump you would feel is the transmission shifting back into low gear as you stop. What happens is when you take your foot off the gas to stop the transmission will shift into a high gear and coast to save fuel. This is done to get better fuel economy. Then the transmission will get back into low gear as you stop, this is the bump, preparing to take off again. If you have ever let full off the throttle and had the transmission go into high gear then got back hard on the throttle you would notice a delay in the throttle response, that is the computer letting the transmission get back into the proper gear before hard acceleration to keep the transmission safe. This started with the drive by wire throttle. Jeff
  16. I'm not sure of the exact distance but the driver side does not move as much as the passenger side. Jeff
  17. There is always a way but you must have a really fat wallet to get it done, It would be easier to get a different RX.
  18. For me I would do the drain and refill twice since you don't have the service records and your mileage is not that high but is getting up there. Then every 30K miles unless you notice something odd when driving. Jeff
  19. If I remember right it is about 4 Qts. You could drop the pan but if your fluid doesn't look or smell burnt I would just drain and refill, drive a thousand miles than do it again. Jeff
  20. Just got a nasty chip fixed on my year old 350. I was leaving a Chrysler dealer after buying some parts to fix my daughters car and as I was leaving the parking lot a guy with a weed eater working in the planter strip throws up a rock that hit my driver side passenger door below and forward of the door handle. I pulled over and looked, the chip was down to the sheet metal about the size of a pea. Long story short the dealer service manager said he would take care of it. He had me bring it in the next week and took it to the body shop that they use, I told him this is a new car and I didn't want it coming back worse than it went in. I got it back and I can't even see where the chip was. kudos to the Vacaville Chrysler dealership. Jeff
  21. Did the fluid look or smell bad when you changed it? If not I wouldn't worry.
