  1. I never tried it but I think it is in the calender function like the maint reminder.
  2. I've been using my local Toyota dealer for service work after my first free service from Lexus of Roseville when they didn't rotate my tires like they said they did. I called them on it and they denied it but I had proof. I have not gone back since. Jeff
  3. Last time I went to Reno when it was snowing they just waved me by, they didn't even ask or stop me. Jeff
  4. Do you know if this was a sludge damaged engine that was repaired by the dealer before you bought it? That is the only thing that makes since to me. Call another dealer with the vin number and see if you can get the Lexus maint that was done at a dealership. Most all Lexus dealers have access and will give you this information. Jeff
  5. Sounds like you need a new service dept. It could be coil packs , fuel injectors or a couple of other things but the last place I would start is the piston rings. Did they do a compression check on the cylinders? Jeff
  6. I have not heard of any or seen any on the boards. Jeff
  7. And what type fluid are they suggesting? Why Dextron 3 transmission fluid flush then a BG shift additive. Once you do this Toyota will never help you with the failure. For a shop they should be analyzing what is causing this debris that clogs the filter not trying to sell you something that may or may not work. lenores trans guy is doing the right thing by finding what might be the cause. Jeff
  8. You need to get it fixed before it becomes an expensive fix. Jeff
  9. First off the ECT Snow switch has nothing to do with turning or skidding. The ECT Snow switch forces the transmission to start in 2nd gear so you don't spin the tires when starting out. Second when you turn on ice and start skidding your not supposed to put the brakes on as that just locks the wheels up and keeps you skidding, ABS won't even help you there. If you are going to be driving on ice you need chains and even that isn't always going to work. Let me ask you this can you run on ice in tennis shoes at 5 MPH and then turn or try and stop? Now take your 4 thousand pound car and think about doing the same thing. Jeff
  10. You are doing all the right things. Call the dealer before you make the drive but it should be covered. Does it pop up and just not spray? If it does not pop up it may be a loose connection. Jeff
  11. Check out these threads. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=30723 http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=11748
  12. Do a drain and refill it could make it last awhile longer. Jeff
  13. On my 08 RX two masters a valet and a credit card key. Jeff
  14. On the leak issue, the only time I ever tried a syn blend on my old 2000 RX it started leaking at the rear oil seal right after I changed the oil, the next day. It leaked for about a month then stopped. The next time I changed I went back to Castrol GTX 5-W30. No leaking again. Jeff
  15. Hows your transmission fluid, has it ever been changed?
  16. Thank You and the best to you and yours also. Happy New Year to all. Jeff
  17. On my 08 I mounted it to right of the rain sensor no problems with anything. Jeff
  18. I've been using Blue Magic Leather Cream Conditioner spray to clean the side of the seats in my 08 RX. I get the Blue from the jeans my wife wears, (her car). I just spray some on a rag and rub. The rag turns light blue so I know it is the jeans. Jeff
  19. I'm not sure how changing the battery could damage the Nav unit, did you cross the battery leads? have you pulled the fuse for the Nav unit to check if it is good? Leave the fuse out for 10 min and re-install and see if the Nav unit comes back to life. Does the unit turn on? have you pulled out the nav disk and reinserted it? I missed you original post so sorry if you already mentioned all this. Jeff
  20. The mirrors didn't move till later models, the sun roof I don't believe will chime but I think when you go to lock the car with the remote you will get a long beep to let you know something is open. Jeff
  21. Safe for conditions is the speed limit!!!
