  1. there is a precise adjustment for that assembly...Sorry cant remember it.
  2. I am not familiar with the GX470 dash, but go to Club Lexus and do a search, the harness is plug and play, The RX400h dash looked difficult but took a whole 10 minutes to gain access to the Navigation and radio.... Here you go: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-first-generation/87880-dvd-override-and-pictures.html
  3. You know i had a RX300 that used zero oil between changes. It had 188k miles when I sold it...My new to me RX400h I am not sure, I swear it has gone down just a little. I may change the pcv valve to make sure there is no back pressure when i do the my first oil change...The car is at 91k miles right now. I am going to put in 0-20 synthetic and I have no idea what is presently in the car...
  4. Sounds like the shift actuator on the tranny,,,it is located below the battery on the front side of the transmission..maybe it has failed or loose or misadjusted..
  5. Been debated many times...You know the first drivers are typically women, but the seconds owners are young folks that want to mod the RX into street machines...However I bought the first RX (1999) and now drive a 400h And it was my choice...My wife likes my choices....
  6. I would only use Toyota Type IV or Amsoil, or Mobil 1 ATF synthetic transmission fluid....I have used type IV and Mobil...Mobil is superior....Just do drain and fills, the first one with dropping the pan and cleaning the magnets...Then drive for a few days and do just a drain and fill...Three times should bring the fluid to a pristine condition...I had 188k miles on my RX and this always worked well...Do not do a flush....
  7. installed the DVD part, am going to install the other half for Navigation...The DVD part works fantastic....Then wife said hey I cant input my quilt stores while rolling...so guess its time to install the other harness.
  8. If they all have computers, then make it a requirement to email you when they start and when they finish at work....
  9. here is the thread on it.... http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7408&hl=iacv
  10. I hope you filed a report, there is no excuse for that kind of treatment...Put yourself in the shoes of somebody else, say a daughter, relative, etc, that gets that stuff replaced when it is not needed...I have a few times stepped up to a service manager and countered what they were telling a customer when I knew it was BS...I cant stand seeing people get BS'd or talked over...I have no respect for that kind of dealership. These forums are a easy way to help folks and be helped..But when there is a bad dealership they should be called on the carpet.
  11. Exactly which means "ALL" service would have had to be done at Lexus dealership....Thank you customer no service....
  12. Sorry, I know your pain, Mine was replaced at 100k miles and then had to be replaced again because it was defective...(All from Lexus) cost me $4300 in 2004...I have been fighting this failure for a long time..Filed my complaints, but they dont really care. Some have gotten assistance from Lexus when they have exclusively used the dealership for all maintenance...Some have gotten up to 50% or the tranny for free and they paid labor...Highly suggest having your fluid changed once a year or every 20k miles...DO NOT do a flush, drain and fills only.
  13. Do you have the window lock button pressed? Sorry for such a question, but it sure sounds like that.
  14. I have to ask did you have all service done at the dealership? If not than dont expect anything from Lexus of America...They only give assistance if you have been a valued customer ie all service at the dealership...Also was the transmission replaced at Lexus? Good luck and dont forget to file a complaint with the transportation board in Canada. Good luck
  15. My RX400 has that net and it works fine...But it was in the car, I dont know if it is the exact same one.
  16. Agreed, I actually had them repair a nail in tire on a virtually new tire...That same day i WAS GOING to my son's house and that repair blew out completely destroying the tire. When I went back to get the tire replaced the Michelin Cross Terrains that I had purchased just 2 months prior had been discontinued and they informed me I would have to buy four new tires...I told them they were crazy..I called Michelin while standing there and they said the Latitude was the replacement and would not cause any problems even though the tread pattern is different...They finally sold me under warranty the one Latitude tire....But their customer service and knowledge is completely rediculous..I also refused to pay for the tire as their repair failed and caused my blowout.. I had to raise a stink with the store manager to get this done...As far as I am concerned Costco Tire centers are the no service dealer....
  17. Good luck Josh, enjoy the training...
  18. Frankly the dealerships are overpriced....That list of stuff they give you quite frankly takes 5 minutes to do...The only things done that takes time are the oil changes, brake fluid changes, timing belt change(90k miles) Spark plugs at 120k miles... THe transmission fluid change should fairly not cost more than $90 tops...It is all to snow the customer into thinking they are getting a lot of service for their dollar. A good, trusted independent garage would probably better serve you. And hopefully they would not talk over your head, and treat you with respect but do a thorough job.
  19. For $189 you can fix the navigation problem with no wire cutting....I too have owned both, and yes visability is worst in the rear quarters, however our RX400 has a backup camera. Steering is a vast improvement over the RX300, It turns much tighter..Handling seems fine, we have the optional 18inch wheels on the RX400.
  20. Agreed and I found a great Goodyear through their site that treats the tirerack purchase like one of their own.. for the installation....
  21. Usually the key moves a mechanical lever that unlatches the door lock...Maybe your lock mechanism fell apart....
  22. I got approximately 4.2 qts. Drove it for a week, and did it again...The fluid is pristine now....
  23. My skills went out the door after trying to explain to them that the AWD on the RX300 only gets about 10% all of the time to the rear...I have been a Costco member for over 25years and dealing with stupidity is not one of the customer requirements that I wish to experience...They would not accept a waiver....So Sams club or American tires, or Tirerack.com with the help of Goodyear are my prefrences now.
  24. we have been averaging 24.3 miles per gallon...Our old RX averaged 17 to 18....I am loveing it...
  25. hey great shots, thanks for the info...I will check mine in the morning....
