Front Axle Bearing / Hub Assembly Failed!
lenore replied to Zen Master Joe's topic in 06 - 12 Lexus GS300 / GS350 / GS460
However here is my local lexus online dealership for $223 for the part...And it looks to me that you will not have to press the hub from the steering knuckle. It is different from my RX... http://www.mylexparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=214992&chapter=&Sectionids=0,2512&groupid=2513&subgroupid=52092&componentid=0&make=20&model=GS 300&year=2006&graphicID=8945340&callout=2&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0 -
Front Axle Bearing / Hub Assembly Failed!
lenore replied to Zen Master Joe's topic in 06 - 12 Lexus GS300 / GS350 / GS460
Found part here: for less http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/2006/lexus/gs300/driveshaft_-ar-_axle/wheel_hub_assembly.html Also Here http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php As for labor you have to remove the hub assembly from the steering knuckle, and then press the hub out of the steering knuckle...Labor seems high to me. -
Yes the big X did indeed do those things, I saw the ethernet in 1978 between Palo Alto Research center and Santa Clara. Funny I turned down a Government job paying twice what I was making at the X, thinking that I would be taken care of fairly for my efforts... that is why I am upset with the public employee unions, they are not living in the real world....
-
Oh no, nobody wants to discuss the true failure of our country....Let it be...As for the teachers, and legislature of that state. the ones that arent at their job should be reprimanded.
-
You know I watch the news with Wisconsin and the Government, Teachers, etc and just shake my head. What have we come to when common sense does not prevail. Over half of the United States is broke and overspent, but the unions wont give any consessions for making the real world sacrifices like private enterprise has had to do. Private companies tighten their belts, and cost save, but the government just keeps going on spending. Here in California it is probably worse. They still hire when there is no money, but act like it is their duty to expand, or spend every last dime if it is in their budget which is over what the needs are. When is AMerica going to wake up? We are being destroyed by these socialist groups that have no concept of budget, making a raise on merit, or sacrificing when things are bad. We have substandard education because of Union tenure, and huge bureacracies that supposedly support our kids. But statistics show we are a utter failure....Our family is tied to the union through a job, but we see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it does not look sunny.... I know when I left my Company (XEROX Corporation) all of my benefits have gone to the side. Medical would cost me a minimum of $800 per month, (mind you I was promised free medical for the rest of my life). I know there is a lotof abuse by factors that we cant control, but asking these folks to pay a little for their retirement and medical is not anymore than what most of the Private industry asks of their employees. I believe the UNIONS are destroying this nation, they have driven jobs out of this country, and made being mediocre the norm, instead of creating a true merit system that would weed out the poor performers. They (UNIONS) have done a great deal to protect workers, but not to unlike the rest of the social programs out there have destroyed efficiency, merit, and honor in doing a good job while protecting the cost of the company, government, or tax payer... <_<

Power Steering Fluid Exchange And Brake Fluid Flush
lenore replied to ezzrider's topic in General Chat
Actually my Ford F150 does recommend changing the fluid in the owners manual....Face it most people dont do it as normal maintenance. Most people do oil changes and when something breaks, fix it.. -
Power Steering Fluid Exchange And Brake Fluid Flush
lenore replied to ezzrider's topic in General Chat
NO but during the twelve years of ownership of my RX I noticed the fluid changes color just as the fords do.(I have a F150) And when it does I flush the lines when doing brakes..... -

However the seals do wear, and contaminate the fluid...Flushing gets rid of the contaminants.... -
$$Q@%$ASRTTJAWZIUROLFZIHSXLDYHVNIZOLSxIHJfvn sorry I cant stand it.....

Maybe Al Gore could decide on that point....

Wow small world, we were there from 1960 to 62 (minot) and 63 to 66 (Ellsworth S.D.)
-
need to go to autozone and get the codes read....sounds like bad coil packs on those two cylinders
-
absolutely do not do a flush, I am on several Lexus sites and a toyota site. We have found that with high mileage, a flush will disturb debris and mess up the valve body...To many have experienced transmision failure after a flush...Do as instructed a drain, clean filter or replace depending on what type is on the car, and add fluid. Then drive for a week and drain and fill again...The fluid should be a nice red color after done...

they are jealous, I picked the RX300 for my wife in 1998 (nov) but I like it.

Sorry NC hope you are not buried under a disaster of snow...God I remember those days, I lived in North Dakota, and South Dakota where the snow completely covered your door way and you had to go out the back door, so you could shovel the snow off the front door, which wouldnt open....and do this while it was -20 below zero....Yea I know, my kids (California) dont believe a word....even walked to school in the snow, what a unusual concept...mom didnt have a car, and there was no bus....go figure. Dad had it worse though, working on B52's with no hanger, and wind blowing 50 mph all of the time. waiting for that nuclear strike over the north pole....Yep those were the days..

Totally am for move to alternative to oil....What is taking so long for mass production of fuel cell cars...There are a bunch around this neck of the woods...must be cost versus real world economics. As for associating with scientist, that is fine, but of course they are going to champion their pocket book. Like saying I have been around government (service brat) and ex military, and they are to be trusted with the financial security of our nation in spending.? Look at the post office, social security, medicare, boy they are really well ran....Same with grants to scientist that dont want to become unemployed. We are capable of cleaning up our past habits, but are we capable of weeding out fraud....????? <_< <_< I started this with Global warming? sorry everybody.
-
OK but what about all of the fraud in England with falsefied data to support Global warming? It did make the media for a brief time...There is also a whole group of scientist that dispute the theory. Hey One volcano does more damage than man. Dont get me wrong, I believe in conservation, keeping our air and water clean, but the extortion from groups to buy carbon credits is just rediculous. Hey give me some of that money that idiots give for carbon credits as Al goes flying around the country in his jet. Billions have been poured into this, and all it really has done is proprogate missinformation. Again, follow the money trail. Along with all of our industry being driven to countries that havent the government burden of operating, even though we have some of the cleanest industry in the world....
-
Sometimes the wiring harness to the knock sensors is bad...gets really hot on top of the engine.
-
Yea we love you dC.....but we can agree to disagree...Have a great evening.
-
bESIDES WE tax payers have to support those grants to the scientist, especially when they proprogate their theories to get more grant money, no matter how false the numbers are. What a giant boondoggle....follow the money trail.

Tells Us About Your Car And Its Mods Or Problems
lenore replied to SKperformance's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
I would tackle the codes first, the coil on plugs are probably bad...once you fix those, than the shaking will probably go away... -
Sounds like they didnt put something back together correctly...without checking the engine compartment and with your observations it is really impossible to diagnose...Afraid it is one of those things that you have to be there to diagnose...Please tell us what it was when you get it repaired..
