  1. Synthetic here also Mobil 1....as for extension on oil changes those european cars have a lot more capacity....I would stick to 5-7k changes....
  2. KYB's would be close to original equipment....
  3. Welcome aboard....There are all skill levels here from the DIY to the folks that take it in and want to be educated before the dealership, mechanic, etc trys to overcharge. Knowledge is gold....
  4. Please note the Sensors are not all the same, some are Air/fuel sensors and then a Oxygen sensor. Testing the OCV is not a good check...How where they tested?
  5. Well there are three servos in there, which one was replaced last time....
  6. Yes strange on these larger rimmed wheels on high mileage.....My old RX300 was at 188k and had no wheel bearing failures....the RX330 and on seem to have random failures....
  7. I will make one suggestion, I personally have a press, but it is not a task that most of us diy do....Damage to the hub or the new bearing can happen real easy...Go to a reputable machine shop that has done this procedure before. The going rate is $25 to $45 to perform the pressing of the bearing. I have done two (2) myself, first one went without a hitch, the second appeared to go well until I put the hub back together....I bent the hub itself. that sucked and ended up costing an additional $280 for a new hub...Oh well live and learn, It should have been $37 for the bearing and I would have been done...Just be careful....
  8. You will have to remove the entire hub assembly...THis envolves removing the brake caliper, disk, and unhook the shock strut, and remove the ball joint so as to free the hub...The axle nut will have to be removed (217 ft lbs) and knock the axle out of the hub. ONce the hub is removed from the car the bearing will have to be pressed out (requires a hydraulic press 12 ton or more) and the new bearing pressed in. Good half days work for the do it yourself guys..The axle nut will have to be torqued to 217 ft lbs. Also forgot the speed sensor for the abs will have to be unhooked prior to removing the axle. If you google how to replace wheel bearing on Toyotas there are sites that post pictures with tips... If you dont have a press your local auto parts or machine shop can handle the job... here is a great thread on Toyota nation on a highlander which is exactly like the Lexus: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/107-camry-solara-lounge/255035-diy-front-wheel-bearing-r-r.html
  9. not sure on the wear, only have 5k on them...so far though they look great...very quiet.
  10. The bearing envolves a lot of labor...The hub assembly has to be removed and the bearing pressed out. I did mine myself. I suggest if you want to save money do it, but have the bearing pressed out at a local machine shop and new one put in. Google the procedure, it is out there...here is my old posting Well changed the left front bearing yesterday, Started by removing the axle nut (210 ftlb) and then dropped the tie rod end, ball joint from control arm, brake caliper, brake caliper support, speed sensor, and then the two bolts that hold the shock strut to the steering knuckle.... next used a shop press to push the hub assembly out of the steering knuckle, removed the E ring holding the bearing into the steering knuckle and then pressed the bearing out. pressing was real nerve racking, would not budge, then all of a sudden it would make a bang and move. This was with lots of penetrating oil soaking. Note forget I also removed the dust shield before removing the bearing. (This goes around the speed sensor gear)....After cleaning up everything with fine emery, pressed new bear into the steering knuckle, then the clip, and then the axle hub. Had to use varried size sockets to press on the correct area of the bearing so as not to damage the bearing...So far good, but havent taken out on the highway to see if the drone is gone...I still have to do the right side also, but Now I feel confident enough to do the job. Bought the shop press for $106 12ton...HF....The locals were going to charge $50 per hub to press out...so I am half way there....
  11. Hey welcome aboard, nice ride, post some pictures and hopefully you will solve those codes.
  12. nope, lamp is burned out...On the RX300 Forum there is a procedure for doing it yourself...
  13. Just put the Yokohama Paradas on about 5k miles ago, so far, very quiet and very stable...Like them a lot so far...In the rain they have been great....But I live in Californy and our weather is easy on cars.

  17. The difference on the rear is whether it is AWD or FWD...The two bearings are different...THe AWD bearings assembly is cheaper (dont ask) THe FWD rear bearing is more expensive. I bought one from Rock AUto.com and was very pleased. THe TIMKEN one is highly regarded by several forums...
  18. I would definetly contact the toyota dealership...Something doesnt make sense. If these items were replaced than, they should not have failed.....
