  1. Good luck, a leak in the same spot is weird....could there be a poor mating surface where the tranny bolts to the engine causing stress?
  2. Welcom aboard Oliver....hope you are enjoying your ride....
  3. funny, they can buy the oil in bulk and I assume get it cheaper, why do they have to jack the price on the synthetic so high....
  4. Hey if it is working and not leaking, dont worry about it.....however a little fluid change can help things....turkey baster and add of new fluid gives the old stuff some new life.
  5. yes please post, we 400h folks want to hear anything that cause electrical to go haywire....
  6. Hmmmm, like the little bit I can see of the rear, still not crazy about the copycat front end on all of the new vehicles....
  7. The IACV is very critical to that idle. Did you read the post carefully and get the washer etc back in the correct position.? Also change the pcv valve as that could cause excessive pressure and blowing of oil throughout the system. Replacing the IACV might be the fix, but maybe dissasembly and careful cleaning might be in order, with careful re-assembly. Make sure all of the vacuum lines are good also that are going to the intake....one cracked might cause problems.
  8. welcome aboard, enjoy your rides
  9. Ah, interesting feedback however, but the europeans used front wheel drive in the alps for over 50 years and found them very stable in ice and snow, yes learning how to drive them takes no time at all as they respond so much better than the rear drive vehicles. Nice thing is you can power up to change direction....when in a slide condition. We learned quickly that the front wheel drive performed remarkleably when doing hill climbs on dirt roads.
  10. Not sure about the front end, seems all of the car manufacturors are going for the same look.....
  11. yOU can get the entire steering rack here for around $300 to $400...Then find an independent to install it. I bought one from them for a nissan and was extremely pleased... http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php
  12. Mine does that too...I really believe that is because of the huge amount of torque that is available instantly....You feel it ....The driveshafts being unequal lenth may do this....
  13. At least the Energy folks from Obama's administration are happy....Green baby green!!! Chevy volt here we come....oops what a dismal failure....$4.39 a gallon here....
  14. can it be used on other makes of vehicles?
  15. Not baddy priced, at least can do ABS codes...hybrid features are great.
  16. The third brake light was OK?
  17. The usual choice is the Michelins, Altenza;s (Bridgestone), or what I am trying the Yokohama Paradas which so far I am pleased with..
  18. I believe there is a hole in that cover ring where the abs sensor is attached, at least it is on the RX Lexus.....Did you remove the sensor when replacing the axle. If not then you may have destroyed the sensor...
  19. here is one on flea bay.... http://www.ebay.com/...3522945&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEXUS-ES-300-PASSENGER-SIDE-MIRROR-1997-2001-/290658264434?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3ALexus%7CYear%3A1999%7CModel%3AES300&hash=item43ac952572&vxp=mtr
  20. The two Lexus Vehicles I have owned do not have 12v power when the ignition is off....I too would like to have that capability....hmmm maybe I will do it myself....
  21. I pay $27 for the oil and $4.20 for filter....The nice thing is i see what is really going on, and the drain bolt will never be stripped. Takes 15 minutes and the city I live in picks up the old oil for free. This is for a full synthetic, and Toyota filter.
  22. Cant find diagram, but here is a parts drawing. http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-catalog/1708MAG032-EngineAndFuel-LS400-1994.html
