  1. What's a dealer computer? <_<
  2. As far as I know, the Japanese Soarers 2.5 didn't come with HIDs until the design change, but I know aftermarket manufacturers built HID system to fit the SOarers from 96 onwards.
  3. The timing belt is a good idea, and look for oil leaks. You could take the car to lexus for a precertification inspection, and get a through inspection.
  4. yeah, they look good. You should think about lowerin it though.
  5. I've got to ask, what's an interference Engine?
  6. I believe the Day Time Running lights are patched through a relay system, but I believe if you disable it, you'll need to change the connectors so that they plug up. I really don't know for certain, but you could check with the dealer. They should give you some idea with "what if..."
  7. Although I don't support dealers, since I'll be competing with them sometime in the future, but they are supposed to have a factory trained Master Mechanic install the block, not an amateur. Otherwise there is a possibility the manufacturer will support and give you a new car. I haven't hear too many cases where they've given a customer a new car while on the powertrain warranty, but if this happens, you can demand for a factory trained master mechanic to work on your car. Steve: I think you should sell your LX470 and get the RX330. You're probably not going to take it off-road, so why have a big, ugly, beast?-
  8. I was thinking of the AP Racing versions, but that's better than non-crossdrilled. You should also check with other vendors, because Stillen has a 15% markup. You should also check out Autobacs. They might have the Japanese Kits for you. If you go through the club's LS gallery, you'll come across a picture of my rear brake kit.
  9. Duplicating the problem is key, for any repair shop. I'm not a full-pledged mechanic, but I would want to hear and see it myself. I'm glad to hear the dealer is honouring the warranty. Otherwise, you might be SOL. You might get a new engine, which would be really nice.
  10. Dam. I was trying to sell a fan clutch last month. The manufacturer sent me a new one when I asked for a Fan Bracket. I still have the other one--nothing's wrong with it. I'm a little lost. Which Fan is missing the blade, the AC/Radiator fans or the engine fan?
  11. When I was searching for better aftermarket brakes, I saw Stillen selling some nice Cross drilled/slotted brakes that can fit the LS400. You'll have to get the built month and year of our 94 LS400. That's located on drivers side door, near the hinge. That determines if the brake kits will work.
  12. With a Lexus, anything is possible. I think VVT-i has something to do with that. PS: steve, could you not use all caps when typing. By our Instant Messenging standards, it's considered yelling. Thanks
  13. I'd also have the car checked out by Lexus or a very trusty Mechanic. If you go with Lexus, have them do a pre-certification check-up. They do a pretty through job, and costs about $150-250. Well spent piece of mind.
  14. Or you could try my solution and upgrade the entire setup. I had a company make me a 13" big brake upgrade kit. Very nice. Best stopping ever. This is providing you changed your wheels to 18" Rims and tires. :D
  15. Try jacking up your car in both sides, and try to shrug all components. See if anything else rattles. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to take off your driver's side rear wheel. I'm thinking it's probably your shock/strut tower. Either it's your struttower that needs to be tighten or you might need a new shock/strut. If you have to replace your shocks, you have a lot of options.
  16. Hey Steve: Do you have VVT-i? It wouldn't make sense if you had an earlier LS. Since I'mnot familiar with VVT-i that much, let me talk to a couple of people tomorrow. I'll keep you abreast.
  17. Did you recover your cartridge from the other Player?
  18. What kind of tread pattern do you have, everyone?
  19. Hey Chid: is there a reason why you wanted me to see your post? Private Message me with your answer. thanks a lot man. UCF3 MODERATOR
  20. The ones from Clearcorners are US DOT legal. They're taking BMWs, mercedes, and others and just fiting them into the existing housing. The only problems, are Price--at least a Grand, and your car has to be at their facility. It would be a custom job for the SCs since noone before has attempted to do the job. SportsCoupe300: I didn't know that SPW was forced to stop selling kits. That could the reason why their Website is down. <_<
  21. I thought it was a Vertex kit as well, but then I realized someone can buy the front bumper cover, and keep the rest stock.
  22. You can reset the computer yourself too. Look inside the Engine Fuse box. There should be a fuse, most likely a (15), related to the computer( read the text on the inside of the box), and pull it. Wait two minutes, and plug it in again. That should reset your computer. If you can't find it, remove your negative cable from the battery and wait 3minutes. Off course you'll have to set your clock and radio station again if you do this one. Gut feeling, the SRS sensor is failing or on the verge of failing. That's likely to trigger the light to come on. You might have to pull the code.
  23. ohh!, they won't help. Wanted to send them mine to be converted to two-tone, non LED Version, but no, they refused. Losers.
  24. Calvin, I think you should look out for a wrecked SC3 w/ 5speed. You can buy the entire transmission setup, and ECU for about $1000-2500. That's what you'll have to work on, and that will take a long time. It's probably a good idea to be friends with a few Junk Yard owners/employees. Ecocar.com sells salvaged cars. You could add your name on the parts wanted list, and see if they can provide you with what you want. there are other sites.
  25. I believe the outer reflector is absolute by US DOT standard. The standard doesn't say that it has to be red, but should reflect something. This might sway you in a direction.
